These are great! I've made some molds & then used hot glue to cast as well. One thing I've done to try to prevent gaps in the more detailed molds is if the mold is oven safe I will fill the mold part way with the hot glue then put it into the oven (at whatever temp my glue sticks melt) for about 5 minutes (the time can vary) I keep doing it until the mold is filled completely. that channel notch you made is actually perfect for resin really because you could just stick the needle in there instead of tempting to close it after you put the resin in.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned (or if you've found out since making of this video) - UV resin will not work with the kind of silicon you're using to make the mold. If you want to use UV resin in mold, it needs to be a transparent silicon to allow all the light through.

So many great ideas! I’m currently working on a room scene ( a living room with an elderly couple sitting in their armchairs reading and crocheting) im going to age it just a little so it’s not “ abandoned coffee shop” level but just a little worn and shabby....thanks for the ideas and inspiration Ara, love your work! ❤️☺️
That sounds like a fantastic and sweet project! Yes there are definitely "levels" of aging ;)... I wonder if that would make a good video someday?? Thanks for watching!
I just love your work and attention to detail. I get teased all the time because I'm so picky about detail, but watching you makes me feel justified. Your detail and size consistency are amazing.
Thank you Teresa! Miniatures are all about the detail so not sure how you could not pay attention to detail! It's a must! 💕😁 Being picky is the sign of a great miniaturist!
Bentley House Minis And I meant it as one. I’ve been called that most of my life. Lol Anyway, it’s like a saying I’d seen on a T-shirt “you say crazy like it’s a bad thing”. 😁

There could be worse songs stuck in your head lol.... While working on this I looked up the original music video.... I laughed SO HARD! You should give it a watch! I had the same idea... I was going to make a mould for when I made Zero for my nightmare before Christmas video and cast him in hot glue but I ran out of time and just had to do clay. But they would be cool!
So funny I misread ur title first time I thought it said stink and lol re read it sink and knowing now ur sense of humour I thought this might make u laugh and know ur not alone lol x

Dog poo bags will be the right thickness for scale trash bags. Or stretch the bin liner to thin it before putting in place. Perhaps tiny pieces of double-sided tape rather than glue to help with your anxiety issues 😂
Amazing amazing!!! I am not sure what you should say at the end but just keep making videos!! Maybe have the girls say bye for you and video them so you can pop that little clips in at the end of the video. Kind of like that production studio clip at the end of tv shows. Thanks for sharing!! 💙💙💙
Haha that's a great idea Leslie... I'll run it pass them (they'll say no but oh well I plan to keep my regular "bye" anyway:) I appreciate your support and I hope you are feeling better!
Bentley House Minis I am actually doing much better. Almost my old spunky self. I’ll be filming a craft room tour series. From the horror before to the final tidy and organized space. My before is sort of like this abandoned coffee shop. Things are growing everywhere and who knows why else is lurking in the shadows. 😂Have a great weekend!! Hope y’all are good too! Tell the girls that I requested their best Addams family member/Star Trek/or any other character they choose for a quick clip! 😉💙💙
I am so glad to hear that Leslie! And I will be looking forward to your room tour! I imagine you deal with storing a lot of paper items and I am THE WORST at storing paper... I hope you will show your methods ;)
"SORRY"... ROFLMAO!! I'm dead, I had to pause and tell my husband about the trash bag and he said "sounds like something you'd do to me".. Yes, and no I'd 100% forget to tell him 😂😂
Did we miss your full tour of Addam's Family House? Somehow we got booted off your notifications so we are going back and looking at your tutorials. LOVE your work.
No you didn't miss it. I plan to finish up the Addams project this summer ;) I am sorry to hear you were booted off of notifications.... youtube can be frustrating sometimes :(
Some have #glueanxiety , I have #aginganxiety . Absolutely nervous about aging things. I'm sure I'll get over it with practice. Your videos help a lot.
I thought about that afterward and I will def try that next time!! Then there would also be realistic seems along the sides of the bottle instead of through the middle. I will have to make another mold making video soon! Thank you!!💕
Awesome Ara, that mop is so gross, it's brilliant! This whole project is so much fun. Don't change a thing about your presentation style - It takes guts to step in front of a camera & be yourself while others just sit & watch. Maybe you should challenge them to present a section of your show & we can critique them? LOL. You just keep doing you & tell your sisters they can nut up or shut up :)
Lol Joanne! I definitely won't change and it was all in good fun ;) We have a fun teasing relationship. My youngest sister probably wouldn't mind her own segment actually lol
Omg I’ve never seen that resin mold or either didn’t know what it was if I did see it hehe.lhow long did u bake the sponges and bottle?i never know how long to bake small things and have actually darkened pieces and ruined them.lhelp!!wow oh wow..sooo cool all the things u do!!!do u sell all these things u make ?or do u just do this as a hobby..looove all the tutorials ARA..and appreciate all u do..
Thanks Cheri!! I didn't say how long I baked it because it really depends on which clay you decide to use. I am using Sculpey III which I bake for 20 mins at 275. You can make a little aluminum foil tent to put over your bakes to keep it from darkening... I hope that helps! I do sell a few little things (my website is in the description) but someday I hope to sell whole scenes like this Coffee Shop ;) Someday!
Thx Ara..I’ll try that..does it matter if I’m drying 3 or 4 small pieces or if I do a tray full of them, does the time stay the same or do I increase it if there’s alot?..yes sculpty is what I’m using..oh while u r helping me with clay..how long do u bake thicker items like small pumpkins or rabbits or is it all about the same time.sorry to ask so much, but I never have been sure if I’m baking them long enough.lthx for the help..
No problem. The general rule is to bake 15 or 20 mins per 1/4" thick. So if your piece is 1/2" thick you need to bake for 30 or 40 mins. If you are baking for longer definitely put a bit of foil over your pieces to help it from discoloring. It doesn't matter how many you have in the tray... they will all bake the same ;)
@@BentleyHouseMinis if you make a silicone mould of a glue stick, you can melt a larger quantity in an old mini milkpan, or old empty been tin with pinched spout and make new sticks for the glue gun.

If you are baking for longer definitely put a bit of foil over your pieces to help it from discoloring. It doesn't matter how many you have in the tray... they will all bake the same ;)
Could you use Glossy Accents instead of the UV Resin?
I have never tried glossy accents but it might be worth a try!
Where do you get the tiny labels for the soap & milk?
I found full size pictures through a Google search and scaled them down and printed them.
Reuse hot glue for molds by melting it in a sealing wax ladle
Great tip! Thank you Diana!
@@BentleyHouseMinis if you make a silicone mould of a glue stick, you can melt a larger quantity in an old mini milkpan, or old empty been tin with pinched spout and make new sticks for the glue gun.
