One of their better interviews. It's always nice when the guest counterattacks their sarcasm with their own sarcasm. I don't understand why some people thought it was awkward lol. It was very organic. I definitely think she was a little stoned too. Those eyes looked a little glazed, and that laugh lol.
I think some of y'all are projecting. She seems perfectly reasonable to me in this interview. Does she have to fake who she is to seem more 'down'? I respect her more for being exactly who she is. Clearly Mero is out there sometimes, but she still laughed lol. Her sense of humor is drier.

Yeah, no - that woman has no sense of humor. And trust that I really respect her as an actress but let’s keep things 💯. If you’re doing the circuits to promote whatever, one needs to learn how to reciprocate the tone set by the interviewer(s) especially actors since that is part of their craft. You can’t use sarcasm as a shield to mask the fact that you’re unable to navigate yourself within the conversation successfully. Deadpan humor only works when you’ve got comedic timing, of which she does not.

I think that Charlize is very introverted. Like a million things are probably going on in her mind that it's almost like she's not even in the room when talking to people. I'm just assuming based off of interviews that I've seen her in. Also, I think I can understand because I do share that same "awkwardness" whenever I'm in situations where I am talking to people and the chemistry or interest in the subject isn't there so I just end up forcing dialog to please them. Many of those awkward beats in this interview, I'm sure, are because Charlize regretted half of the things that came out of her mouth. It's a very conscious thing. Nothing wrong with that. She just needs to be with people who share similar personalities.
