I find Gaga's vocal choices more engaging to listen to, because she has a sense of storytelling in her singing. Katie has a beautiful tone, but I do not get as much emotional conveyance from her. That may come with more experience. Vocal technique is one thing, but storytelling instincts through song is another thing entirely.
Myself and daughter watched her stadium tour in London in July, she is absolutely incredible as a live performer, that’s where she shines I don’t think I have ever attended a concert quite like it. Her energy and vocal range was spot on

Awesome job by Katy!!! Love the song, and Gaga’s classical side… I actually didn’t listen to any of her music, until “Shallow” came out… Didn’t know, what to thing of her artistic image and style until then..
WOW, I have already been impressed with Katie but the tone in her mixed voice. First time I think I have heard that. The depth and fullness. Reminds me of Amy Lee; you just feel in in your soul. Whatever she is lacking in bringing the "passion" is made up right there. My opinion, best version I've heard.

However, She kicks ☆☆☆ when she ballsy does Plant, Scott, Johnson 🎸etc... She has such a range & skill!🎶

Kati has a beautiful voice and loved her over do it . That is my own taste. i liked Lady Gaga before she was Lady Gaga . She has talent more than Madana She writes her own music as well as music for other artists . Some of my favorite singers dont follow all the Rules . I love Sade as she has a breathy voice that is hard to duplicate . I like Katis voice and i agree its is the passion in Lady Gaga which i like . You did a great job coaching Kati and she will go far in her singing . The singing techniques you taught her make her much more versatile then Gaga .
I like Kati's voice better than Lady Gaga's for the most part. The most impressive Lady Gaga vocal for me is the theme song from Top Gun II. She did not have that staccato sound, and seemed more open throated. Maybe she worked on making those changes before the Top Gun track.
Kati has better range because of better technique which could last a longer distance in a long concert. Singing the way Lady Gaga does puts strain on her voice though she may pull off the first 4-5 songs well with more strength and thus sound more passionate. But likely to loose her voice faster too.
Fan of mumble rapping ? LOL, just kidding. When she goes to higher part, to my ears the sound brings Hayley Williams of Paramore to mind, and no, it is not the colour of the hair. :) This goes off topic, but would it be an idea to check out some actors singing, if there is material available ?

Katie's sound has come a long way in the past couple of years...much warmer. Her breathy moments are fantastic! She's worked hard and earned it.
I love Katy but I don't think Shallow was meant for her, it doesn't really highlight the beauty of her voice
Her work on A Star is Born was WAY more impressive to me than anything else she's ever done. Katie is amazing!
