  • My rebuttal to the first video in Justin Peters' series of videos on Clouds Without Water. This session was called "Dangerous Doctrines". He claims that Kenneth Hagin said that Adam could stand "toe to toe" with God, accuses Creflo Dollar of teaching Arianism, and says that WoF people are as lost as Muslims.

    I'm Rod Saunders, founder of Jew and Greek. I’m a musician, web developer, and a student of philosophy and economics. I recently published my first book on Amazon entitled Defending the Faith: Word of Faith Apologetics. It’s a response to the numerous charges against and misrepresentations of the Word of Faith movement and theology. I also have a CD of original music on CD Baby entitled Gates of Pearl. “Jew and Greek” is a good name because the two civilizations that influenced Western civilization the most were those of the Judeo-Christian and Greek worlds. From the Jews we received our values and a monotheistic theology, and from the Greeks we got philosophy which brought us science, sports, the arts, democracy, and economics. As a result I discuss all of the above in this blog and in my videos.

    As I read through the negative comments here I see that none of you are able to present any kind of actual argument or refutation of anything I've said. They're all insults or general statements like "you need discernment" or "WoF is heresy" or "this is a bad rebuttal video". Don't any of you have anything of substance to say, or do you just feel sorry for JP and feel that you have to try to defend him?

      Justin Peters is a hypocrite because he takes a great delight in exposing other false teachers, but refuses to be corrected by the Word of God over his false teaching on the pre-tribulation rapture.
      Jesus Christ Himself told us directly by His own tongue that NOBODY can go to Him before he raises them at the Last Day. He reiterates this by then saying that ALL & EVERYBODY that the Father has given unto Him will be raised by Him at the Last Day. Yet Justin Peters claims that Jesus is going to appear and rescue christians 7 years before the Last Day, but when asked - Justin Peters refused to provide an answer for the reason for his this false hope.
      Before replying to me with your pre-trib rapture false assertions, please read and fully understand the implications of John 6:39, 40, 44, and 54. Then read John 11:24 & John 12:48.

      Thank you for providing a rebuttal to Justin Peters. I have listened to his videos repeatedly, and I have always been bothered by them. Though I agree with him on much of what he says, partly due to some of the abuses and excesses I have personally witnessed in the charismatic church, he tends to paint with too broad a brush. To him, it’s not just that some charismatic preachers are bad. The whole movement is bad. Furthermore, he seems to have an edge of bitterness to him. I get that he’s very passionate about what he does, but it almost seems personal. As if the Charismatic Movement wounded him somehow, and therefore his entire purpose has been to take them down (under the guise of exposing the frauds and charlatans). I’m also uncomfortable with his insistence that certain ministers and their followers are unsaved. That’s a pretty bold statement, and one that I find troublesome because it makes so many assumptions. The crux of his entire argument seems to be based around the Baptist view of Cessationism, which I do not subscribe to. I’ve also noticed that Baptists, or cessationists in general, are very mean-spirited and unfriendly towards charismatics or those in the prophetic movement. For a group that claims to carry the “love of Christ,” they sure have a funny way of showing it.
      On a side note, my wife graduated from Rhema, and you won’t find a more loving, committed woman of God. It’s sad to me that a person like Justin Peters would ever question her faith or hold the wrongful assumption that she is unsaved.

      @@thomasduncan4074 Thanks for the support. I believe that JP's attitude comes as a result of his experience in his youth. He has cerebral palsy, and as a teenager he started going to the meetings of faith healers. He never got healed, and I guess he concluded that they're all frauds and is on a vendetta against all things Charismatic and WoF. It would also explain why he is so careless with his research. His judgment is skewed by virtue of his contempt for Charismatics.

    I thought that this video would be a rebuttal of Justin's teaching on Word of Faith/Dangerous Doctrines, but it seems that after the first 5 minutes it's just a bunch of cheap shots, where you only pick apart some of the quotes and references he made about figures in the Charismatic Movement. Can you teach via scripture, that what Justin teaches about WOF is false?

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +14

      Cheap shots? Do you know the definition of rebuttal? It's a contrary argument or response. I responded to the things JP said in his video. He said that Kenneth Hagin said that Adam could stand "toe to toe" with God, and he said that it was a direct quote. I'm simply challenging him to prove his assertion. How is that a "cheap shot"? He then says that there's no prosperity gospel, implying that WoF people use that expression which isn't true. WoF opponents use it as a derogatory term. He then contrasts money and healing with persecution, which is the logical fallacy of a false choice. You can live in health and prosper financially and still suffer persecution. He then makes the assertion that Creflo Dollar and others in the WoF teach Arianism, without bothering to define Arianism, so I defined it for him. Once Arianism is defined I think it's clear that JP's assertion wasn't justified. He then says that WoF people are just as lost as Muslims, so I offered my background and the fact that I understand essential Christian theology to refute that claim. So tell me please, who is taking the cheap shots here? The guy branding people heretics by misrepresenting them, or the guy who responds to said misrepresentations?
      As for teaching via scripture what JP teaches about WoF that is false, I think we first of all have to accurately define WoF theology without all of the misquotes, distortions, straw man tactics, out of context quotes, and other misinformation before we can do that. I'd be happy to discuss that, and in fact I have in several other videos, but before I can do that with JP he has to refrain from his bad scholarship aka BS.

      Jew and Greek we do. That’s why we’re asking what the *Scriptural* rebuttal is. We’re not asking how impressive the WoF preacher’s lives are.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +11

      If somebody says that you're a socialist and you're not, are you going to try to prove that you're not from the Bible? Of course not, because you're trying to refute a misrepresentation of facts, not a misrepresentation of scripture. JP is spreading misinformation about what people say and do. As I told the first guy when it's a doctrinal issue I'm addressing I'll quote scripture, but if somebody says that Kenneth Hagin said that Adam could stand toe to toe with God, I can't prove that wrong with scripture. In fact I can't prove it wrong at all, because you can't really prove a negative. That's why I challenged JP to prove what he said, because the onus is on the one making the assertion. That's why the burden of proof is on the prosecution in a court of law. The defense doesn't have to prove innocence. The prosecution has to prove guilt. JP needs to prove that Kenneth Hagin said what he claims he said.

      Jew and Greek I’m sorry... you do not know about my secular life. And my training in human nature and natural human defense tactics (intellectual). As with this video refuting Peters, you focus on *worldly* and *world-based*, beside-the-point details about location, history of the people who founded the location and numbers of people. Peters talks about the *Scriptural* basis for what he is saying and the Scriptural basis of *what is being taught*. Do you understand? You all - and I was in the Charismatic Movement - are conditioned to defend the *person*, using mundane details, about the contemporaneous world. Peters doesn’t address ANY of that because - and this is where I’m getting real with you - the celebrity and marketable attributes of the people who espouse this “gospel”, is irrelevant. The discussion is about whether or not it is compatible with God’s Word.

    • @KristiLEvans1
      @KristiLEvans1 6 років тому +2

      Jew and Greek Do you understand? You all are attacking Peters and *geography*. I know heresy that is preached in Times Square - I lived there. Language issues and physical comfort for First World people is not at all what we are talking about. Do you understand that? Listen as if you have NO preconceived notions. Peters is not attacking the *people* who started this. He’s discussing how WHAT IS BEING TAUGHT DOESNT ALIGN WITH **SCRIPTURE**. Christianity is not about human celebrity and resumés.

    I was born in a very conservative deep seated catholic environment. I was baptized a catholic when still an infant and educated in a school ran by Italian priest. I knew all the rituals and 7 sacraments as requirement for salvation. But in 1981, my world became intirely knew when I got born again. After sometime I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and was empowered to share salvation with my 5 siblings. All are born again now and my younger brother serves as a pastor in a local pastorate. We as a family grew spiritually in a pentecostal charismatic church. Our pastor who graduated from a pentecostal seminary was actually born a methodist and whose father is a minister. He managed to maintain balance by cautioning us of the excesses and abuses that could and are happening within the charismatic circle. He emphasized the importance of being grounded in the scriptures. I am 62 years old and a living witness to the phenominal growth of christianity in my country the Philippines. I can say that the series of revival that caused this amazing growth was brought about and is attributed largely to the pentecostals and charismatics. Except for a few maybe but a lot of the baptist leaders were ranting and condemning this charismatic revival. If John Macarthur wrote a book about charismatic chaos, I might as well write also a book about the Baptist chaos in my country. The baptist themselve went into a series of splits and were not in accord with one another. My baptist pastor friend testifies to this. I agree with what JP says about the abuses and excesses being done in other pentecostal fellowships. But I am also aware of his inaccurate and baseless assertions and allegations about the WOF movement. a person who is prejudiced to another movement or denomination, and is intolerant of other’s opinions that differs from his, is on his way to becoming a religious bigot. Pentecostal preachers here in my country have been discreet and forgiving in not reacting inappopriately and being careful not to slander our baptist brothers inspite of their continous barking and ranting. I hope they will do as well. We need a lot of these videos by Jew and Greek to be educated of the past. Ignorance of past history is a breeding ground for false beliefs and accusations which leads to attributing the Works of God inappopriately. There is a wide margin of difference when people talk of things they saw and experience compared to people who gathers and cherry pick informations they did not even experience to suit their point. May you continue my brother in this direction and calling in the strength oh the Lord. Surely you will meet disagreements, but my support is totally with you.

      I've done 8 videos on JP, and most of them have scripture included to rebut him doctrinally. When you're just addressing factual things like I was in this video, it's not a matter of quoting scripture. Kenneth Hagin didn't create Rhema Brazil - Bud and Jan Wright did. Kenneth Hagin didn't say "Adam could stand 'toe to toe' with God". That's just factually wrong. WoF teachers don't use the term "prosperity gospel". That's an expression used by WoF critics. Creflo Dollar doesn't teach Arianism, because Arianism is the belief that Jesus hasn't eternally existed as the Son of God, and Creflo believes in the eternal sonship of Jesus. I can't refute misinformation about people by quoting scripture. I can only refute bad doctrine with scripture, and I do plenty of that in other videos. But I'm not so concerned about rebutting his doctrine as I am his misinformation. JP doesn't know what he's talking about, and people need to be made aware of that.

I remember lights and water being cut off and eventually homeless due to my parents giving everything they earned to about every teacher on TBN. Brother, you are truly a blessing to the Body Of Christ. Thank you for addressing these issues which have been terribly misunderstood and misrepresented. I have been disturbed and grieved by this sort of uncannily bold naming and shaming, slandering, and overall gross misrepresentations of so many mighty men and women of God. I cannot get my head around how some brothers (and sisters at times) who supposedly have the "corner on the truth" and "perfect theology", can also have such a lack of "fear of God", so poorly mischaracterizing the beliefs of others who don't see things exactly as they do, but most of all, rendering judgment and saying things like they aren't even saved or part of the BOC. I pray and believe for a true fear of God to hit the Church and for there to be true repentance and unity. As I read 2 Corinthians 11:3-15, I cannot help but sense that Paul is describing something very similar to this "self-righteous", pharisaical spirit we have seen rising up viciously against men and women of God, even trying to discredit recent powerful moves of God throughout the world. I wonder if you have considered that it comes from what Paul describes as, "a different spirit". I have nothing against JP or all the other Calvinist "doctrine police", and I consider these guys my brothers in Christ, but I firmly believe that we all need to be held to an account for unscriptural and non-Holy Spirit motivated assaults against Blood bought believers who may not subscribe to our exact theology (which, as you've explained, especially in the case of Calvinism and cessationsism, can be challenged quite easily using nothing but the Bible and a "scripturally whole" exegetical and hermeneutical approach). Keep up the good work, brother. -Hebrews 6:10 :)

    With regard to Zachariah being struck dumb, I take HUGE issue with your aligning Matthew Henry's and John Calvin's observation with Joel Osteen's comment that 'He (God) knew Zachariah's own negative words would STOP HIS PLAN." Neither of those men even remotely inferred that idiotic observation. I suspect they'd both be insulted that you're including them in the same sentence with Osteen.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +3

      You may be right. It's hard to know without being able to ask them for clarification, but the word "interrupt" means "to stop the continuous progress of" so by that definition Calvin was saying that Zacharias was indeed stopping the plan of God from unfolding. As for Matthew Henry, he stated that these were "distrustful and unbelieving words". Didn't the unbelieving words of the 10 Israelite spies keep the children of Israel from possessing the Promised Land? Wasn't Jesus kept from doing might works in Nazareth because of their unbelief? If Jesus could be hindered by unbelief wouldn't it stand to reason that Zacharias' unchecked unbelief could throw a monkey wrench into the birth of John the Baptist to an elderly couple?

    • @shaeholden1743
      @shaeholden1743 6 років тому +1

      Jew and Greek We indeed do have clarification. Henry says, "Thus He prevented his speaking any more such distrustful words." Calvin says, "...that, being dumb, he might await the fulfillment of the promise...instead of interrupting it by noisy murmurs..." Very clear to me. That is NOT what Osteen said or meant; he was clear as well.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +2

      You seem to be conflating the remedy for the problem. The problem was that Zacharias was speaking unbelief, and unbelief can hinder the work of God. The remedy was in Gabriel striking him dumb. That doesn't mean that there wasn't a problem to resolve.

    • @shaeholden1743
      @shaeholden1743 6 років тому +3

      Jew and Greek So you're saying that if he had kept laughing, it would have prevented the forerunner of Christ being born...a birth that was foretold hundreds of years earlier? Zachariah being struck dumb was purely a lesson to him that there are repercussions to lack of faith...just as He's disciplined all His children for lack of faith (though thankfully nobody's being struck dumb anymore to my knowledge). It had nothing to do with 'tying God's hands' as Osteen alleged.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +1

      I'm saying that we know from numerous examples in the Bible that unbelief can hinder the work of God. It did with Israel in the OT, and it did in Jesus' ministry. Sometimes the work is delayed as was the case with Israel possessing the Promised Land, sometimes the work never takes place as was the case with Jesus' ministry in Nazareth, and sometimes God intervenes to see that the plan goes forward as was the case with Zacharias. That's my take on what Joel Osteen was saying.

      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +3

      We have God's ability because God the Holy Spirit lives in us and works through us, but that doesn't mean that we have His ex nihilo creative ability. Even the Apostle Paul said that God's ability was working in him. There's nothing wrong with that statement. As for Creflo Dollar saying that we have divinity, I'd like to know when he said that. The reason he stipulated "little G" was to make a distinction between us and God.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +6

      You didn't hear a rebuttle [sic] but you did hear a rebuttal, which is a counter argument. Kenneth Hagin never said that Adam could stand "toe to toe" with God. JP said it was a direct quote but provided no source for that quote because there is none, because he never said it. He accused Creflo Dollar of teaching Arianism which isn't true because Creflo Dollar never said that Jesus isn't the eternal Son of God, so he misrepresented him on that, too. Then he claims that WoF people are as far from God as Muslims, despite the fact that WoF people hold to all of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith - deity of Christ, virgin birth, Trinity, original sin, justification by faith ... etc. Making general derogatory statements adds nothing to the discussion. If you refuse to hear that JP is misrepresenting people that's on you, but don't claim that what I have provided in my counter arguments is "nonsense" if you can't prove it wrong.

    • @aimeewilliamson2897

      Jew and Greek wiether Haggin said that or not WoF is a false doctrine. Justin Peters is Spot on for showing people the truth. I grew up in WoF.. And its not biblical and certainly does not focus on sharing the gospel.. Faith is something we should most certainly have. But our Faith can not control Gods will. And that is just fact. To tell anyone that there faith seed will sow them riches or to preach we are little gods or to teach that Jesus had to suffer in hell is heresy. And you should be ashamed of yourself for in anyway promoting this false doctrine. Why dont you interview Benny Hinns nephew who was part of his staff and can attest to this falsity.. WoF is all about getting rich off of others. Taking scripture out of context is either lack of dicernment or a blatent attempt to mislead. And lets face it. This is not just a lack of dicernment on the part of these preachers. Purhaps the ignorant church goers who apparently dont read there bibles are the undicerning. The little things you presented hardly matter when the truth is people are being led astray by these false teachers.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  6 років тому +9

      First of all, the term "word of faith" comes from the gospel. It's what the Apostle Paul called the gospel that he preached in Romans 10:8. You can't do a biblical presentation of the gospel without faith and confession. (Rom. 10:9,10) No, faith doesn't control God's will. Faith is based on God's will revealed through His Word. (Rom. 10:17) If He reveals His will in His Word regarding salvation, healing, deliverance, victory ... etc. how are we "controlling God" by believing, speaking, and acting on it?
      What you said about seed faith is a distortion of what Kenneth Hagin taught regarding financial prosperity, and he addressed a lot of these things in his book "The Midas Touch: A Balanced Approach to Biblical Prosperity". As for Jesus suffering in hell, that belief goes all the way back to the Apostle's Creed and John Calvin. While it's a controversial view that I don't believe, it's not a new teaching and it doesn't violate any essential Christian doctrine so I don't see how it qualifies as heresy.
      Costi Hinn has gone from one extreme to the other. As I've pointed out numerous times on my blog and in my videos, Benny Hinn isn't WoF. He tried to teach it back in the 1980s and publicly abandoned it in 1993. Costi and others are mistaken when they link Benny to WoF. Costi now embraces Reformed theology, and believes that God predestines some to eternal bliss in heaven and others to eternal torment in hell in His sovereignty. He also believes that all of the supernatural gifts ceased in the first century.
      The truth matters, Aimee. Whether you're talking about the deity of Christ or how much you weigh or what I believe about various doctrinal issues. If you consistently misrepresent what other people believe and teach as JP does you won't have any credibility. It's as simple as that. I'm always happy to have an honest discussion about theology and the WoF, but I won't tolerate dishonesty and blatant disregard for the facts from anybody who presents himself as a defender of the faith.

      In the videos on the origins of the WoF I retrace Kenneth Hagin's theological history and E. W. Kenyon's theological history to establish that neither took their theology from non-Christian sources.

    What is your response to the Spiritual Death of Jesus which is JP’s main problem with WoF because it changes Jesus’ and God’s nature

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  4 роки тому

      First of all I don't think his biggest problem with the WoF is the spiritual death of Jesus. I think it's the belief that it's God's will to heal, and we receive healing by faith. That puts a certain amount of responsibility on us, and he wants to lay it all off on the sovereignty of God.
      I have stated several times that I don't agree with the spiritual death of Jesus the way most in the WoF teach it. My view is very mainstream, but I don't consider this an essential doctrinal issue. We're only talking about the process of the Atonement, not the efficacy of it. Having said that, John Calvin said that bodily punishment alone wouldn't have been sufficient. Billy Graham said that Jesus experienced spiritual death. So you really can't condemn the WoF view without condemning them as well.

      rebuttal - a statement that a claim or criticism is not true:
      1. JP says that Kenneth Hagin has a huge presence in Brazil. In fact, Rhema Brazil is not Kenneth Hagin's organization but Bud & Jan Wright's organization.
      2. JP mocks Joel Osteen's comments on Zacharias being struck mute, but Matthew Henry and Calvin said essentially the same thing. (JP is a Calvinist, oddly enough)
      3. JP quoted Kenneth Hagin as saying that Adam could stand "toe to toe" with God. Kenneth Hagin didn't say that. If JP can provide evidence that he did, I'll accept that and withdraw this video.
      4. JP says that there's no "prosperity gospel", assuming that WoF people added the adjective "prosperity" to "gospel", which isn't the case. That was added by WoF critics.
      5. JP says that we're promised persecution, suggesting that WoF people have replaced "persecution" with "prosperity", which isn't the case. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
      6. JP accuses Creflo Dollar of denying the deity of Christ, which isn't true. He was discussing Jesus' humanity, and His dependence on the Holy Spirit as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit.
      7. JP says that Creflo Dollar is teaching Arianism, but Arianism denies the eternal sonship of Jesus, which Creflo Dollar doesn't do.
      8. JP says that WoF people are as lost as Muslims, despite the fact that WoF teaching holds to all of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. The problem isn't that WoF teaching is heresy. The problem is that people like JP don't know what they're talking about, and are constantly misrepresenting WoF teaching and teachers.

    What an absolutely shocking statement - that a mere creature can cancel out or stop the omnipotent and sovereign Creator's plan with it's negative words.
    It is clear from the quotes that you give that Matthew Henry and Calvin did not say anything close to what Joel Osteen said here.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  2 роки тому +1

      The point was that God shut his mouth to keep him from speaking words of unbelief, as opposed to making him lame, or blind, or sick. The implication is that speaking words of unbelief would hinder the plan of God. You'll see the same thing essentially with the Tower of Babel, when God had to confuse the languages in order to prevent them from building the tower. In a similar way, God rebuked Sarah when she laughed at the thought of having a baby at her elderly age. God's omniscience and omnipotence doesn't mean that He doesn't give us free will that carries with it the possibility of resisting or impeding His plans. It's an extremist view of God's sovereignty that sees Him controlling our choices and actions in order to accomplish His purposes. He can walk and chew gum at the same time, meaning He can accomplish His purposes despite our dumb choices and spiritual blindness. If we become defiant, He can just confuse the languages. If some of us become unbelieving, He can just wait until they die off and the believers are left to enter the Promised Land. If we run from God, He can arrange a fish to swallow us like He did with Jonah. If we question how God can give us a son in our old age, He can strike us dumb as He did with Zechariah. God wasn't going into a panic as JP mockingly suggested. He always has a contingency plan.

    It's really a shame that people don't understand faith! I was delivered from demons in 1990 and it was done by a Holy Ghost filled woman, totally sold out to God, someone who people would think was a little weird, in that she freely glorified God everywhere she went, lifting her hands and praising him, speaking in tongues, and telling people about Jesus everywhere she went! I met her one day after going back to church, which was an Assembly of God church in my area. I was praying for deliverance, and God met me right there on the road near my home! The devil does everything in his power to diminish and totally eradicate Holy Ghost power, because that's what he's afraid of! Miracles, signs and wonders was an everyday thing for the early church, so tell me when did Jesus change his agenda? I can't believe people are so blind to this, it's so simple! No one can get saved without a measure of God's Spirit doing the convicting and revealing the truth to their heart. After this however, people just get off track, changing things in the Gospel that ought not be changed, like the gifts, miracles, speaking in tongues, gets. Why? You are 100% correct in everything you say, and I am convinced that Justin Peters has a lot of hatred for this because he may just have a religious type spirit, or else he should definitely research just what he's saying! For me it boils down to 2 things. #1 Love - As Christians we are to love one another. Jesus spoke clearly about love. When we treat one another from a place of Christian love, we and those we deal with are more at peace. #2 I believe we must each read and study the Bible ourselves and not leave it up to and solely rely on someone else to interpret and tell us what it means. We must read and study it for ourselves and pray for God to reveal it's truth to us. Yes, I watch videos from JP, you and many others and I make the best decisions I can with information gained from each. As Christian's I wish we could disagree from a place of love and without hostility and hatefulness. For the most part we all worship and love the same God. You are picking apart some of the minor details without actually refuting Justin Peters' lager points. You are talking about bumper stickers and the different labels for WoF, etc. Justin Peters may be wrong in some of the things he said. Maybe there should be some retractions due to incidental misquotes or exaggerations on his part. He is not perfect. But you certainly don't offer any way to defend Word of Faith doctrine or actually counter his criticism of it in any meaningful way. He missed, or messed up, some details. Other things you have taken in an overly literal way so as to make it appear unreasonable - just like JP does sometimes. You are splitting hairs while sidestepping the main critiques.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  2 роки тому +2

      These aren't minor details. When you accuse people of teaching Arianism (thus calling them heretics) when in fact they believe in the eternal deity of Jesus, that's a serious charge. When you misquote (or simply fabricate) somebody as saying "Adam could stand 'toe to toe' with God", that's not a minor detail. Justin Peters simply doesn't know what he's talking about, and he presents himself as an expert on the WoF movement. I've been in the movement for 40 years. I've met Kenneth Hagin. I graduated from his school and even taught there for two semesters. I am the expert that JP claims to be. I've done a couple dozen videos responding to his nonsense. These things need to be called out and there are Word based pentecostal brothers and sisters of the old paths who do just that and other than his cessationism, wouldn't take much issue with what Justin Peters is saying. You start with Scripture when discussing doctrines, but not when discussing things of a factual nature. When Justin accuses Creflo Dollar of teaching Arianism I can't disprove that with Scripture because there's nowhere in Scripture that it says "Creflo Dollar rejects Arianism and affirms the conventional understanding of the Trinity and Jesus' eternal Sonship". Likewise with Kenneth Hagin' saying that Adam could stand "toe to toe" with God. JP is misrepresenting people on what they believe and teach, and my experience is relevant because it helps me to know what he's doing. I do plenty of doctrinal analysis in other videos, but the nature of this video is to show JP's lack of credibility.

    I rarely add comments to videos, but I have listen to this man several times, I like how he talks about these other preachers and how they are guilty of robbing people, those people that are really actually hurting and sick people, these preachers play on a persons hopes of a Miracle, then we know what’s its all about its called “filthy lucre” (Money), they get rich, and many times, the sick and hurting people have less money in their pocket with very few results. These men will be judged by the Almighty God.
    But now I want to talk about this man’s ministry Mr. Peters he teaches a doctrine called Cessationism, Mr. Peters is not the originator of this doctrine but he believes it, so he teaches it, He calls those that he condemns clouds without water, but what this man teaches is far worse: Sola scriptura was one of the main theological beliefs that Martin Luther proclaimed against the Catholic Church during the Protestant Reformation. They claim they use only the Word Of God to teach their doctrine which is not true at all.
    This doctrine teaches that the gifts of the Spirit “which are benefits of the Born Again experience “ They teach this doesn’t happen any more, this experience ceased when the Apostles died. This doctrine of Cessationism is a doctrine conjured up from satan himself. The Miracle working power didn’t begin with the Apostles, it began with Jesus Christ, the Bible says in Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the Same yesterday, today and Forever. These Gifts were put into the Church by the Holy Spirit, for the edifying of the Church, and I Haven’t read in my Bible where the Holy Spirit has been taken away. This Born Again experience is not an option, it’s essential to our Salvation, one person told me; when I made a comment about this mans teaching Mr. Peters, we don’t need to debate things that are not essential to Salvation, what I am talking about is essential to Salvation, and what they are talking about is diminishing this experience, the doctrine they are teaching says it don’t happen anymore, this is a lie. Jesus said in John 3, except a man be born again he can’t even see the Kingdom of God, verse 5 Jesus said again except a man is born again he cant enter into the Kingdom of God, you see this Born Again experience is not an option, it’s essential. If you want to know about this Born Again experience; look where it all begin in Acts 2:1-4, Acts 8, Acts 10, Acts 19. These people that are teaching this Cessationism doctrine is absolutely false doctrine “clouds without water is what they call others, this doctrine of Cessationism is false doctrine that can keep other people from knowing the real truth. I have read the comments here, i hear people talk about how great it is to hear a man speaking the truth, my goodness know your bible, don’t let people like Mr. Peters dictate to you what is in the Scripture, there is no place in the Bible where they can prove Gifts of the Spirit has been taken away, actually I know by experience these experiences have NOT been taken away. They talk about the gifts of teaching and administration, these are not gifts these are governments that God has put into the church for the perfecting of the Saints, Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV)
    11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
    12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
    Please notice what verse 11 says, now Mr. Peters is quick to say, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; is ok, but when it comes to Apostles and Prophets Mr. Peters says they don’t exist anymore. Was Paul speaking just for His time ? The Word of God was written by Paul, or inspired by Paul ? No, 2 Peter 1:21 (KJV)
    For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost. This scripture is not just a reference to the Old Testament Prophets. 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
    In Galatians 1:6-9 Paul said if anyone or even an angel from Heaven comes preaching any other Gospel than what we have preached unto you let him be accursed. We can look in Acts, and in all the Epistles,and know what Paul wrote to the Church and what he preached. When he taught the Corinthians in Chapter 12 he wasn’t teaching them just for the time he was alive, these gifts were going to be part of the Church until Jesus comes to take His church away. What foolish teaching, the reason why this teaching is so popular is because, he is teaching to an audience of people that are part of the Laodicean church age in Revelation 3, the Lord chided His church because they were lukewarm (lazy may I say) they didn’ want to put forth the effort to really seeking God, they said we are rich, we have all of our ducks in a row, everything is great, but the Lord said, your naked, and your blind, then The Lord gave them the remedy for their situation, he said buy me Gold tried in the fire: what the Lord was telling His church, you have lost your fire, You need another trip to the Altar and be renewed with the Holy Ghost and fIre. Don’t let people like these teachers convince you the Days of Miracles have pasted, “God hasn’t took His church away yet”, the Church age is still in effect. These teachers are enemies of your Souls. While they are quick to condemn and judge others, and tell them the mote they have in their eyes, when they have got the whole tree in their eyes. This doctrine of Cessationism is of satan.

      @@valerie223 your perception of Justin Peters, as being a Gospel preacher, is half true, he does speak half truths, so does satan, many preachers are used of satan, it's ok with satan for preachers to preach half truth, that's how satan deceives those that don't know the Word of God. From listening to you Valerie, just by your own words, you said I too was baptized in the Holy Spirit speaking with other tongues ..... At least I THOUGHT these are your words, BUT now I perceive, your listening to Mr.Peters has even caused you to doubt your experience, you alone have proved my point about this Cessation Doctrine. When the Disciples came to Jesus on the Mount of Olives, they asked the Lord in Matthew 24:3 what will be the sign of your return Lord, the very first thing the Lord said to them, BE NOT DECEIVED. I know Mr. Peters Message, I had no idea what it was when I first heard him, because he was saying many things I agreed with, but I began to listen at his Doctrine, which was completely false from what the Apostles preached in the book of Acts and the Letters to the Churches. So I advise you Valerie to return to the Book of Acts, to reaffirm what is true, for Jesus said, except you are Born Again, you can't even see the Kingdom of God. people say it's just say I believe, Jesus said in John 7:37-39, If you believe on me as the Scripture hath said out of your belly shall flow rivers of Living water, Thus spake He of the Holy Ghost. In Acts chapter 2:1-4 we see this Outpouring of what the Lord had Promised, and how it affects us. Then in Acts 2:38 Peter told them what they needed to do to be saved. Don't be deceived Valerie, Eternity is a Long Time.

      JP claimed that Kenneth Hagin said that Adam could go "toe to toe" with God, but he offered no evidence to back up that claim. I've read everything Kenneth Hagin wrote and attended his school for two years. I say that he never made any such statement. I can't prove a negative, but I don't need to. The burden of proof is on the one making the assertion and JP didn't do that. Prove me wrong if you can. JP then says that Creflo Dollar teaches Arminianism, which isn't true because Arminianism says that Jesus isn't the eternal Son of God. Creflo Dollar doesn't teach that. JP is misrepresenting Dollar's teaching on the doctrine of kenosis to make it appear that he teaches something that he doesn't believe. Either that or he simply doesn't know what Arminianism is. He then says that WoF people are as lost as JWs, Mormons, and Muslims despite the fact that we hold to all of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. I know this because I was raised Southern Baptist and spent six years in an Assembly of God church. I am well versed in the essentials and WoF theology upholds all of them.
      I've done eight videos on Justin Peters and they clearly show his propensity for misrepresentation and sloppy research. To put it plainly, he's a hack. He has a vendetta against faith healers in general and WoF teachers in particular because of his bad experiences going back thirty years. While we might sympathize with his plight, he is only damaging his own credibility by consistently spreading misinformation.
