- During the second round of the 2023 BOSS GP season at the Hockenheim, I managed to see and record some beautyful Dallara GP2/11. The car was used from 2011 to 2017 in the GP2/F2 series, and it was driven by some of the brightest talent of the recent motorsport history, such as Charles Leclerc, Pierre Gasly and Stoffel Vandoorne. It's powered by a 4.0 L Mechacrome V8 N/A engine, which is able to produce 612 hp. Enjoy the video!

Best GP2 era imo. F2 hasn’t been the same since going DRS & V6
V8's that rev above 10k create a very distinct (and awesome) sound. I wish F1 had kept high revv'ing 10's and 8's, even if they added hybrid powertrains it would still have that sound. The current V6's just dont sound good, ive been told its from the MGU stuff and the exhausts used now but im no expert. I just know these older pure ICE setups sound SO much better.
The crazy thing is that the Mecachrome 4.0 has a redline of just 9000 RPM. It sounds like this due to some of the best header design ever done.
