This is a TALGO train designed and largely built in Spain (final assembly may have been in Germany or Russia). The TALGO train has the ability to change the wheel track gauge by going through a special track which is usually in a shed. (They learned to do this due to the Spanish/Iberian gauge also being different from the rest of Europe). This saves a bunch of time at Brest.

From the famous gauge change system to the fact that the wagons do not have wheels with axles, which allowed the wagons' center of gravity to be lowered. Talgo was the first manufacturer to design wagons in a "modern" way, almost as if they were airplane cabins, light, resistant and useful.

Great video, i travel frequently by rail across Europe from the UK, used the Paris Est to Moscow Belaruskya train a few times, where we have the wheel sets changed in the large work workshop just west of Brest station. I will try this talgo train out soon, look forward to using it. Your Russian is great, i am currently learning it. Its difficult for an English speaker due to the fact the english is such a basic language compared to Russian. Anyway, great work, keep doing your bit for the environment, rail all the way. 👍👍👍

If you ever need to know the Russian rail gauge is 1524 mm/5ft and the European gauge is 1438mm /4ft8.5ins. There are exceptions in Europe such as all of Ireland (1600mm), parts of Spain (which has 3 gauges) and most of Portugal (1668 mm).

It is the Central Station which opened in 2006 and has a very unique design. Maybe you came across the Central Station later in your journey...

Nice train. I didn't know about the different railway gauge between the EU and RusFed.I suppose it's easier just to change trains than alter the entire network in either federation.
