Looks Great definitely going to get one. Thanks for the side info on kick ash basket. I have been doing that, but was giung to start shaking down into the basket(sort of like when had original grate) but now I won't. Thanks for all the great videos.
@@FOGOcharcoal It went great thanks to your video. I had a 3 pound picanha, cut it against the grain, skewered it on as a C, kept the fire in the back. Succulent juicy picanha
Finally rotisserie came to BGE! Thanks for a prompt review, captain! I will wait for a few months to see if it will stand proper use and abuse, and then order mine!
Thanks for doing a cook with the BGE rotisserie. I've been thinking about all the ways to use it since I first saw it. Another gotta have EGGccessory. The Picanha was to drool over and glad to know what it is. Never have seen that meat cut around here (NM), but I'm going to be looking for it.
Would this technique work without shaving the meat multiple times? I was thinking of having a dinner party but don't want to keep popping up during the meal. Thoughts?
Good morning Captain! Such an awesome video, and piece of equipment! I love how it's wedge shaped, and sits perfectly. My go-to Brazilian Steakhouse is Churrascaria Plataforma on W49th in Little Brazil, and this looks better! I'd love to see your chimichurri recipe, that's my favorite. The tang and heat go perfect with the fat cap! Next up for this? How about citrus stuffed game hens... Line em up and let them spin!
Whoa, I do like that idea! Have you ever tried the Chimmi mix that we sell? It is canned but I'll be honest, it's pretty damn close to as good as fresh!
Capt. You remind of being at a Brazilian restaurant the coin is always green lol and of course the first ingredient in any cook is the Charcoal Fogo or No Go brother best Charcoal on the market love that super premium lump its the best all i use that rotisserie is absolutely amazing brother need to get an xl so i can get one.
@@FOGOcharcoal three are brands that are waterproof and given that this is the first generation I'm thinking it might be wise to hold off a bit. The problem with that is I want one now.
Yes I was as excited like you !Next day when I removed the ring the problem was not funny Half the joint came off it was stuck to the ring . By egg is almost new, only 3months ,I’m afraid to use it again! What is the next step?
That Picanha on the Rotisserie looks wonderful. Thank you Ron and Green Egg for the new Rotisserie! Do you know if a SloRoller is coming out for Big Green Egg?
This looks Amazing! Question - My wife has Meniere's Disease and is on a salt restricted diet. It looked like you were using a really corse salt on the meat. Is there another spice or combination of spices that could substitute for the salt? We've used Kirklands spice or Tony Ceshere's with good results. Thanks for the video! 👍🏻
Absolutely Wade! This is a somewhat traditional picanha but you can season it any way you would like! There are plenty of good "no salt" seasonings available.
You wanna hear from me. You don't wanna hear from me. Ok yes you do. Captain, that was another great video. I done several picanhas on my trombo king and they have been delicious. Hey Santa, if you're watching great meat cooking on the BGE on the Fogo Charcoal channel and I know you are, can you put an XL BGE Rotisserie under my tree this Christmas. I promise to leave you some picanha and scallops on Christmas eve.
What happened to the BGE Rotisserie? It seems to have disappeared from everywhere? Did they discontinue it already? This is an accessory I have been hoping for a long time from BGE.
DAMN BGE 6 months too late, I got the Kamado Joe version and love it. IF you can promise to make the rotisserie basket as functional (flat and "round") as the new one from KJ, I will wait, but at $200, I won't be waiting long
The Joetisserie has been out for years...this is a copy at best...and from what I have seen, $70.00 more for a Large...what makes it that much better to warrantn that increase???
Wouldn't it be awesome to find one of those under the tree on Christmas morning?!?! #BGESF
I have a good feeling that there will be more than a few being unwrapped on the 25th.
Oh wow! You killed it brother! DEEELICIOUS!! 😀😀
You are the man!
Amazing Picanha Ron! Dig that rotisserie too! Good stuff brother!
My man CJ!!! Thanks so much bud.
Captain, I’m going to try your picanha recipe this evening. You are my favorite grilling coach. Pray you return to good health very soon.
Hey, thank you Marvin. Hope you enjoy the picanha!
That looks delicious, a great idea on how to use the rotisserie attachment.
You are the best, thanks so much!
I think this is one awesome accessory. I want one so bad I can taste it😢😂 . Awesome video ❤
It really is. If you can find one, buy it!
Really enjoy ur videos. Thanks for sharing . Hopefully ill be unwrapping one of these soon.
Our fingers are crossed for you Bruce!
Captain Ron that is amazing goodness there. We are all drooling at home. Looks like a solid built unit. 🔥👊🇺🇸
Yes sir, it sure is. The picanha is unreal!
Woohoo, right on my Santa's wish list! Hope to get by then, got some ideas to try! 😁🤤
I think many Santas lists have been updated with this!
Very nice review I love the channel.
Glad you enjoy it!
Tried rotisserie picanha once awhile ago and it was okay. Gonna have to try it again after watching this and reading the instructions.
It's a definite game changer
What a great video brother… thank you

Hi Rita, thanks so much!
I love the rotisserie and this cook was 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks TJ, I have seen what you are doing with it and you are straight up killing it!
Just got mine in today. Gonna use your video as a guide
Fantastic, let me know how it goes

@@FOGOcharcoal No but I'll have to!
Fogo, thanks! Nice to see this new piece in action. Did you utilize a drip pan of some kind?
Hey, thanks! No, I did not use a drip pan for this but you certainly could. It definitely wouldn't hurt anything.
How long did each rotation take roughly? By rotation I mean amount of time to get outside browned. Great idea thanks
It does not take long. The whole cook was not even 1/2 hour if memory serves me correctly
Captain you have a Weber Grill boneyard in the back there!
I love my Webers!
I am new to the BGE I am learning watching your videos. What was the temperature you had to cook the pichana and how long it took to Cook. Thanks
Welcome to the addiction! There is a full blog post and recipe link in the description
Very Nice...thanks for sharing, Cap'n. I just told my wife that I'd found my Xmas present. Oh, do you know the price? 😀
Hey David, that's what I'd call a Merry Christmas! I'm not sure, there is a link in the description.

Maybe a video with the rotisserie tumbler basket next? 🤔
Thank you 🙏🏻
That is definitely something that we could take a look at. Thanks!
I'm curious what kind of knife you're using?
There are links to all of the products we use in the video description.

@@FOGOcharcoalWait, huh? Oh yeah!
Ron, is the motor waterproof?
I am not sure to be honest. I wouldn't leave it out in the elements. It literally takes 2 seconds to slide it off of the bracket.

What temp do you cook at?
We don't go by temp, just a medium hot fire

Do you mean the gasket came off?
Looks delicious and the finish on the BGE rotessire looks way more durable then the competitions which does not last!
I have to say, I am very impressed.
Does the Rotisserie come in different sizes such as for the Large BGE, XL etc.??? Also, what is the best FoGo to use, then Tan Bag or the Black Bag??
Yes sir, it sure does Joe. I used black bag for this, I find it works best. That being said, you could certainly use either one.
Where did you the meat from.
It came from a local shop called Broward Meat and Fish. Our Costco also usually has it or you could order it from our friends at Porter Road.
That Picanha on the Rotisserie looks wonderful. Thank you Ron and Green Egg for the new Rotisserie! Do you know if a SloRoller is coming out for Big Green Egg?
Not that I know of

You should try doing a gyros on it - even better than Picanha - I've done 1.5kg of lamb and 1.5kg of chicken on the same cook - bloody awesome !!
I love it Mark and the list is long of things that I want to make on it!
cool
Thanks my man!
