- Sir Ian McKellen is interviewed by 12-year-old reporter Matt for education charity FILMCLUB.
Sir Ian McKellen, who plays the iconic character of Gandalf in The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, told Matt about his latest cinematic adventure. We hear why he couldn't possibly turn down the role and how he found living in New Zealand for 18 months to film The Hobbit trilogy. Listen out too for Sir Ian sending his love to FILMCLUB members!

Loved the way he treated a nervous child and put him at ease without talking down to him. True gentleman.
That's a great interview by a 13-year-old boy who knew his stuff and Sir Ian who knew just how to talk to his age group too.
Good for Matt, he was really nervous yet he plodded on and Sir Ian was kind enough to put him at ease by treating his questions seriously.
That kid looks very nervous. But I can't say I blame him He's interviewing one of the biggest legends if not THE biggest legend ever to hit the big screen.
