As someone who has both quests since the beginning but haven't built much of a library I like it. I used htc's subscription service for a while and enjoyed it. Will definitely sign up for this.
The problem with this is if meta pick the 2 games we won't know if the yearly package is worth it. It's fine if meta add great games....but most who have vr or this subscription likely buy "great games" when they launch. So what's the point offering saints and sinners, beat saber etc etc if we own them. Definitely going monthly but that is problematic if a bad few months and can't play the good ones we redeemed Like you say a pool of games....like 4 or 5 games a month and we pick 2 is way better long term and for yearly subscriptions
Many people prefer to download free games instead of buying them, especially non-experienced users. However, this service offers significant discounts on games and allows users to try out games they may not have otherwise seen. As the service evolves, more perks will be added for both new and experienced users.
This is a way for a studio to bail out sales numbers, bring life to older titles, and market for indie ones. Gamepass would suck without day 1 games and those are almost always first party titles. Meta barely has any of those in general nevermind developing new "bangers". This is a $400+ Billion dollar industry that is almost solely driven by ROI and the only people considered are stakeholders.
$90 a year in Aus and the first two games come to a value of $75ish which honestly already looks like it will be good value, I got it, I would never of bought pixel ripped and I love it, I’m excited to see what else I can play which I never would think to buy, also I just see this as investing into vr, bringing more money to the platform for older titles and more money to make it more profitable for more companies to develop games
I really like owning my games. I think that's my only hesitation in going full blown monthly subs for gaming. ESPECIALLY with VR because I like to make sure what I'm investing in is worth it and I'd like to be able to play it whenever even if I'm broke.
I had this exact mindset for my entire life, but it began to drop when I got into my early 20s (29 now) and realized I had this enormous collection of physical+digital games across console/PC and... I could count the number of games I played more than once on just one hand. Short of a true apocalypse that results in all new media coming to an end, I now feel like I will forever be too busy with new content to ever go back and replay something I've already experienced - perhaps with the exception of a really good remaster or remake of a game I haven't played in at least a full decade. Many of my favorite games of the 7th gen consoles were during my renting phase (blockbuster gamepass!) and as a result don't own a personal copy of them - yet I honestly don't regret it one bit looking back now. The best games that gen were eventually remastered, remade, or at a minimum re-released in a backwards compatible fashion. Still love the idea and vibe of "must own everything" but in reality it was just costing me far more money with virtually no real world advantage.

This is great if you're a new user , even if the games are locked in the premium account (like ps+) it's still a steal. But for someone who has an old Oculus account like me it isn't really advantageous. I have mostly every "big" game already and The store library is still quite weak so by subscribing, I'll only get the "cheap" games I didn't want to play anyways 🤷♂️ plus I rarely buy new games now, like 2 a year
How does it work when I subscribe e.g. 31.1.2024? Will my subscription only for January 2024 so I would still be able to claim the 2 games from this month, but on February 1st I won't be able to play them unless I subscribe for next month? Or will the subscription last til end of February and I'll be able to claim 2 games announced on January 1st and 2 more on February 1st?, but play them only til end of February (unless I let it renew subscription for another month)?
Honestly, it's not worth it. Quest already has an option that you can buy a game and refund it if you played less than 2 hours of it with a 14 days period.
I agree. We would be getting 2 mediocre games per month, they won't cannibalize the sales of their best games by including them in the subscription. We could be getting one good game every 3-6 months and the rest will be filler content basically. Content that we would refund if bought manually anyway.
It’s kinda cool, but not for me as i have a good size library and half the games they announced. If they let you pick 2 from the entire library (including new releases) I’d pay $20 a month.
I have Spotify, Netflix, Gamepass, Ps Plus, and now this, my entire life is a subscription now 😳

WOW..time to upgrade my headset
What is your totally baseball head code pls
This is great if you're a new user , even if the games are locked in the premium account (like ps+) it's still a steal.
But for someone who has an old Oculus account like me it isn't really advantageous. I have mostly every "big" game already and The store library is still quite weak so by subscribing, I'll only get the "cheap" games I didn't want to play anyways 🤷♂️ plus I rarely buy new games now, like 2 a year
Bet, imma get that year one lol
What I really want isn't this. I want a solid Meta pc streaming service
3:11 what game is that?
do you get a discount on all games?
How does it work when I subscribe e.g. 31.1.2024? Will my subscription only for January 2024 so I would still be able to claim the 2 games from this month, but on February 1st I won't be able to play them unless I subscribe for next month? Or will the subscription last til end of February and I'll be able to claim 2 games announced on January 1st and 2 more on February 1st?, but play them only til end of February (unless I let it renew subscription for another month)?
Does the subscription include weekly qpp include all the add-on (dlc)?
No
Honestly, it's not worth it.
@@humanbeing6074 Hopefully they don't remove the refund option because of this. That would be a trash idea if they did....
will it transfer to quest 3?
is there a way to get as a minor? like is there a way to request it or something? im 16 and dont feel like waiting basically a year
Does anyone know if this works with app sharing?
It’s kinda cool, but not for me as i have a good size library and half the games they announced. If they let you pick 2 from the entire library (including new releases) I’d pay $20 a month.
Ah yes, the classic sunk cost fallacy subscription
Will it take up a lot of storage
You don't need to install all games, but you need to claim them.
PlayStation plus is a terrible deal and does not give a player any choice or deal. Now Xbox live is light years ahead in of it’s time.
Ima be pissed if they pull a console and charge for multiplayer like xbox and playstation
