Great news. Muzaffar Iqbal had a similar project while ago. Iqbal's project finished (i guess) after publishing the fouth volume. it's a great resource on the relationship between Islam and Science with contributions from many great minds of this filed.
Thanks for covering this. Not sure how I feel though. There is a part of me that is nervous about potential confusion being spread if proper Islamic vetting isn't taken. We already know the amount of confusion amongst Christians and Jews with respect to what to take literally and what to take metaphorically from the scriptures in light of modern science. Maybe high-level Muslim academics feel this lack of work from our tradition, however, the common Muslim out there doesn't feel this way. The common practicing Muslim doesn't see any conflict generally speaking, between science and Islam. Allah knows best.

Dr Salman Sayyid comments in Recalling the Caliphate….science, logic and rationalism as a collective language (Westernese) and the effort to discover/invent/create our own language. Not to undermine Dr. Shoaib’s efforts,It would be interesting to see if there is an opportunity to go beyond the epistemological boundaries and come up with new concepts and language (perhaps not even call Science…Science :) )
My son's embryology textbook in its opening chapter had the developmental stages of the embryo as mentioned in The Quran. These are exactly as the Quran describes. The second edition of the same book was published with complete removal of that particular text. Here is an example of western 'honesty'.

It would be nice to see more Islamic thought on Science. The Christian west has become so secularized that Christian perspectives on Science are largely marginalized. I would separate technology from science however. It is well to remember that patents are granted based on technical knowledge not scientific theories. It is also worth remembering from Al-Ghazali that all knowledge sources ( Reason, Scientific, spiritual) have potential sources of error.

And in Italy, today the center of the Roman Catholic religion, some of the world's most top scientists work. Secondly, Draper isolates 'Roman Catholicism' for a comparison, when the West does not in reality consist of Roman Catholicism, and many foremost pioneers of science have been from the ideologically and religiously diversified west in general. The hard facts are that Islamic countries remained scientifically primitive, while western nations grew in science, technology and knowledge. Draper's opinion doesn't hold up to any significance.

It would be nice to see more Islamic thought on Science. The Christian west has become so secularized that Christian perspectives on Science are largely marginalized. I would separate technology from science however. It is well to remember that patents are granted based on technical knowledge not scientific theories. It is also worth remembering from Al-Ghazali that all knowledge sources ( Reason, Scientific, spiritual) have potential sources of error.
Assalamu Alaikum. Isn't the most important thing in science the fact that materialism is the key component of science. Science is the movement of materialism at it's core nature. Science is a great sign in itself. It eventually leads us to the greatest sign of all, which is "Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit". That sign can only point to the only reality, Allah (SWT)
The problem with Draper's opinion as expressed in this video, is that it doesn't of course bare out in the evidence.....in fact, quite the opposite is so glaringly the case. And in Italy, today the center of the Roman Catholic religion, some of the world's most top scientists work. Secondly, Draper isolates 'Roman Catholicism' for a comparison, when the West does not in reality consist of Roman Catholicism, and many foremost pioneers of science have been from the ideologically and religiously diversified west in general.
The hard facts are that Islamic countries remained scientifically primitive, while western nations grew in science, technology and knowledge. Draper's opinion doesn't hold up to any significance.
