    I got Big Boss for my 11th birthday, was my 2nd RC car (1st was a Rock Buster). I have so many good memories of this truck, I bashed the hell out of it and it never broke. The engine was the only thing that ever popped off. I bought a Tamiya Lunchbox re-issue a couple years ago, its a great kit but not the same as the Big Boss, the heaviness of the truck just added to the presence, it jumped so sweet. I hope Kyosho decides to re-release this kit someday soon!

    Congrats on the 1K subs Luke! Honestly man, you deserve even more than your 10k goal. Your content is some of the best out there right now. From the way you present your projects, to the absolutely incredible talent and attention to detail that you have. I have watched videos of yours that I wasn't even super interested in the type of car itself but your presentation and craftsmanship just make it worth watching. Keep up the great work, bud. I have no doubt you'll reach your goal sooner rather than later.

    Looks lovely and clean!
    I have a few trucks on this platform but 2 are missing the bodies and it's just such a hassle trying to get replacements. Buying a new shell + decals + body accessories costs more than I paid for the entire truck! I find that happens a lot of some vintage stuff. The actual chassis can be had for fairly cheap but things like the bodies, tyres and on this platform, the electronics cover, seem to go for silly money because they are the things that most often get lost or damaged.
    I've been trying to gradually pick up parts here and there when I've seen them for a good price but it's slow progress. I've managed to get a brand new set of body accessories for the Big Brute but still need a shell and wheels/tyres.
    I have a Double Dare too which has the wheels/tyres but no body and I don't think I'm ever going to find a decent body on it's own for a price I can justify.
    I might sell them eventually and just concentrate on the USA-1 as it at least has a body. I really need to stop hoarding projects lol.

      I'm still not sure how I would feel about having lots of subscribers, that's why I tend to just quietly put the videos out there and let nature take it's course lol. Your Big Boss looks superb! I have owned a Double Dare since 1989 but I think it would be difficult to restore because the chrome parts are not great and finding new ones would not be easy. I also modified my truck because the stock suspension was so bad. I handmade some metal reinforcement plates for the suspension mounts and also for the throttle servo because the double-sided tape didn't hold it sufficiently. I now have 8x oil-filled shock absorbers and that improved it a lot. With 4WS, it is still hard to drive fast in a straight line though. You can see my Double Dare up-close on my channel, BlackSeaRC.

    OH MAN... This also was a really fun truck.... The BRUTE, BIG BOSS, HIGHRIDER VETTE, were just fun. little mushy on turns, but, still, so much fun. I'll bet you, I still have a few of the SASSY CHASSIS, Inc. kits for these series of Kyosho trucks. If you have a P.O.BOX, I would be glad to send it to you for free, you pay the shipping...lol.. But, I do not have any of these any more, but the kits, (if I still have them) are new in package and I thing 3 or 4 are used and scratched all to heck, but still functional. There was two kits available, well kinda 3 SASSY CHASSIS kits, if you wanted to include the USA-1 as this truck series? but the two different kits, one supported 4 wheel steering and the other did, but was cheaper, due to not coming with the steering shaft that links to the back. Which, back then, most folks just ran a second servo, as you likely already know, and the sloppy linkage to the rear no need for it as the servo either on a 3PCM radio would allow for crab walking or to say, independent rear steering or for the easier way, the "Y" adapter to run the rear servo in parallel with the front one. Boy, the memories of what videos you have showcased. Thank you. I really enjoyed seeing such clean models of these long lost kits. A kit that I desired, but was always on back order was the KING CAB by Tamiya. I have no clue of its performance, or integrity, but, dang was that a good looking truck. Then, by the time everybody had their fill of that few years of monster trucks and sport trucks, the truggies hit the shelves, and the KING CAB was discontinued and I never got a change to have one...

    • @LukesVintageRC
      @LukesVintageRC  3 роки тому

      Hi sir, so worth really is subjective right, I’d say ebay would be your best bet. I think mine was 170-180. Now restored custom wheelie bar lights etc I wouldn’t sell value probably $500. And my Double Dare which I have a video coming on soon was around 150 even having 4wd still about same. What it would sell for is unknown though as I’m keeping it. Mint in box is totally different story though. Hope this helps ✌️

      Same here!
      I have a Big Brute with no wheels or body. I actually managed to find the body accessory set brand new for cheap but still looking at around 100 for a repro body and decals when you factor postage in. Just not sure if it's worth it considering the truck cost me about 20.
      I have a double dare too but no body again. The bodies and wheels are the really hard parts to find! I think it would work out cheaper overall to sell it and just try and buy one that's still complete. Either that or just get a different body and wheels for much cheaper. Only problem then is you lost one of the main appeals, the vintage looks!

It takes like 3 or 4 junk trucks to make 1 good one. At least several models used the same parts. I missed an auction that had everything I needed to finish it, no other bidders, I forgot to bid, later on when I asked if still available the seller said he tossed it out because of the lack of intrest... doh!😲
