I'll go over all my tips and tricks and everything you need to know from how much hair to buy to application placement. In this tutorial I'll also show you how I blend in the tape in hair extensions on my short hair.

UPDATE: Hey girls! I know in the video I say the packs come in 100 grams but they have since changed their packs to 50 grams. So just keep this in mind when you are shopping, you might need to pick up more packs. The brand has also changed their name from West Label to Ouielle.
Sorry for any confusion!!
Thank u for the tips. I had extensions put in 4 the 1st time and I wanted to find ways to do it myself instead of having to pay someone 150 dollars every 4 to 6 weeks. I still have problems blending and can't wear my hair straight since my hair is thincker than extensions even after a wash and flat iron. I do t wantto have to keep adding packs of hair and that's the most nerve racking thing about the extensions
I’m sorry you’ve probably mentioned it but how many pieces did you end up using? I’m about to do this for the first time and I’m nervous!
So they are re-usable? I have never tried tape ins so im intrigued lol
@@feliciaclark3568 yes they are reusable you would just need to take them out and put on new tape and then put them back in :)
What is a reasonable amount to pay for extensions
Pro-tip: I have very fine hair and always struggle with hiding the tapes around my hairline and my nape so what I do is cut the sandwich in half. This way, you have smaller tapes that can be hidden a lot easier around the edges! I also use this technique of cutting the tapes around my face to give it a more natural/blended look.
That’s what she already did in the video mate
I cut mine for around my front hair line and face but never even thought of doing it for the nape hairline. Ahhhhhh you sorceress!!! Thank you! 😂💞
How have you been safely removing them?
Thank you for the tip
Yesss!! I've learned to do my own nails, now hair...gurl, I've saving a grand a month. My nails are way beyond what the Technicians be willing to do and now my hair has no limits LOL. UA-cam is awesome.
omg SAME! I just started doing the apres nails gel x nails at home and now I'm saving so much on nails. Especially now since the price for nail techs have gone up 😖
Where did you get your tape from ?
@@realprettyle I’m wondering the same thing 😊
Another pro tip, follow the “brick” method for each row. This will ensure the hair blends. If you stay in the same pattern it will result in visible gaps.
Thank you for this! I have thick coarse shoulder length hair and my hair never blends with the extensions.
Depends on how thick ur hair is lol
This is Seriously the most informative video on tape-ins ever! It's the BEST!
omg you have no idea how happy your comment made me 🙏😄😍 I really tried to make this as in depth as possible.
That is so true. I just came across this video. I went to my hair dresser the other day and sorry the pice for their tape extensions is way too high, so I think Imma give myself a try, order tape ins and do it all by myself. Thats deffo the cheaper way for long term extensions. Thanks Janna for this informative vid!!! Wish me luck!!!
Great video! I will use this when my hair grows back later ( now bald because of chemo). I am very curious about the video's how to take care of them :D It looks beautiful!
Thanks Kelly I am glad you found it helpful :D. I'm going to film how to take care of them today so that video should be up soon. I'm sending you love and healing for your chemo journey
Aww bless you! Tape ins are really great you'll love them
Did you end up trying them out? I hope your treatments are going smoothly 💕
Hi Kelly I just saw your comment and I know I’m just a random stranger on the internet but I hope you’re doing well and your treatments went well
@@anasmith7877 I think she passed away… she’s not replying…
You made it look so easy! It blends so well. Great video!
I have been wearing forever!!! But I have never tried tape ins. I am so excited after watching your step by step process!! Your amazing!
Great tutorial ❤️ The colors are gorgeous..and I love the length. I'll watch this a few times probably to get the hang of it! X
The production value on this is amazing! thanks for the tips!
Such a well-made and concise video! That tip about making sure your glasses don’t catch on the extensions is super helpful. Thank you. :)
I can’t begin to explain how good of a video this is! Completely easy to understand and very detailed.
This means so much
@@JannaNiki heyy girly! How would I know if I have enough extensions I have a total of 30 singles which would combine to 15 sandwiches and I have medium to thin hair when it’s straight
@@liezeltan8180 Hi love, it would depend how long your hair is! If your hair is past your shoulders it could be enough to add some length but if your hair is shorter you will need more to add volume :) I have another video where I explain how many pack of hair you will need if you want to check that out! I hope that helps :)
I feel confident enough that I might actually be able to do this on my own hair now. Thank you.
Seriously the best video I’ve watched! Thank you for all the tips and tricks!
Girlll thanks to u I won’t be paying a lot of money to someone and I’ll do it myself ahhhhh I love u for this
Super helpful and easy to follow video🙏💗, trying this today with this as my reference, thank you!
Awesome. You made it look like something I can do and feel good about myself again. Thank you.
You’re a genius for putting the tape on top first ,I didn’t even think of this and this is one of the main reasons why I haven’t applied mine myself (never knew how much hair I needed to sandwich)
I have watched tons of videos on tape ins and by far this was the best!! I am looking to fill my thinning hair , but still afraid to try it myself. I need more confidence in myself...keep sending videos because you are the best!!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found it helpful
For thin hair, you can do singles instead of “sandwiching” the two together. This will allow for less tension on the hair. Give it a try, you may love it!
Great video great instructions. I had an appointment to get my done that I had made 2 weeks in advance and they called me to cancel in 20 minutes before. Obviously I cried but now you’ve inspired me that I can do it myself with my boyfriends help for guidance in the back part of course lol. So thank you so much for this!🙏
Thank you! I’m definitely wanting to learn all of this
❤Can't tell You how much I appreciate this tutorial. I can't wait to try it. Thank You
That was cool I like how I control of the hair you were , I tend to get sloppy but I love the idea of clipping individual pieces out the way. Great job
Love that its a video with short hair to see the blend.
It looks sooo full and long i love it!
Omg thank you so much! I had no idea where to even start or where to get good tape in extensions! Thank you so much ahhhh! So excited to do it now 😍😍😍😍
This is a perfect demo. Thank you very much.
Perfectly detailed to help anyone. Thank you
This was so helpful!! You had the perfect amount of information that’s been a little hard to find. Do you have other vids on placements?
I’m liking this new extensions I’m gonna try it thanks sis yours came out great and yes I need to see how to take them out carefully and care I can’t wait👏👏👏
How does this video not have a million hits?! One of the best I've ever seen. GREAT JOB (AGAIN) Janna!
ily ❤
soooooo helpful! i‘m so afraid of doing it by myself but when you just go everytime to a saloon i would be totally broken 😂 if i have enough confidence to try it again i hope i will do such a great job like you 😍♥️
i am on my journey into looking into hair extenstions because of my PCOS which is making what was once my once thick hair become thinner and it is making me feel so down and depressed about it. i loved your video on this and i can't thank you enough for your advice on this. you look fab with both short and long hair. love from Liverpool, England
The best by far video for hair extensions and I'm knew to it and to your channel so definitely subscribing you 🤗❤thank you so much not once did I get lost
It turn out beautiful.
How’s the back look with it all behind you? That’s my biggest giveaway when it comes to extensions.
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I got the courage to do it myself, and I love them!
YESSSS!!!
Hi Janna,
I'm Putting in my own tape in extensions 2day & was quite nervous about doing it. I'm known at work for my different hair styles, so this vid was a Great help. Especially with doing the 2 different colour styles.
I'm not confident enough to make a video 4 u, as its my first time, but will do next time.
Thank you so much for ur help .
Zach.
Thank you so much. Pretty color by the way
Beautiful hair, beautiful blouse and the video is just super useful, thank you so much!!! ❤️
Yes! Shirt = Totally cute
thank you. I just spent 250$ at a salon to get some tape ins, and here in Japan they are small 1cm wide tape-ins, but even though I was SUPER careful washing my hair even with no oil or nothing I'm down to half the amount after 2 weeks only. the hair was also bad quality, but I want to make it worth it so I am washing them out this week end and bought some tape for extensions and will try to put them back in for an event I have soon, so hopefully that will work, I'll follow your advice. thanks
So helpful !!!! Thank you so much !!!!!
Very informative! Thank you!
I am so excited I met ur video and you grl cuse i was lost n u just found me literally lov your methods
You did such a great job 🌸💞🌸💞🌸💞🌸💞
You did such an amazing job! You look gorg!!
Thank it so much for these tips! So far the best video I've seen for this!
Thank you so much for watching! 🥰
UA-cam has saved me so much money I stg you’re a hero
I love your video
that makes me so happy, I'm glad you found it helpful ❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you Janna. I'm about to add my extensions for the very first time and I wasn't really very confident about getting it exactly right, you make it look so easy and with detailed instructions too. The only bit I'm not too sure of is how do you blend the last top part of your hair, obviously that will be my own hair, which is short so I'm hoping it blends well and dusn't look stupid. Maybe another video for this???
For the top part, if your hair is super short it kind of is what it is unfortunately. Even for this set you can still where my hair stops. The best way to make it less noticeable is to bring the tapes up as high as you can on your head and if you like you can cut some layers in to the extensions as well to kind of disguise the shorter layers of your own hair.
Very helpful tutorial. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You just saved me 100s of dollars!! Thank you. I'm going to do this.
Super life saver thank you so much
Thank you for this tutorial, Janna, your hair came out beautifully. You're tape in extensions best advertisement! Can you please make a video about the best way to remove them and/or reposition them? Thank you!
u explained it so well tysm
Thank you I have never done this before so this video was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful! :D
I'm going to try to do my own. I loved your video
Thank you so much for this video! I am going to start doing mine myself as well and will save a ton of money in doing so! How are you seeing the back of your head to do this? A mirror I'm sure, but what is the placement of the mirror exactly in order to see what you are doing so well?
Thank you for leaving your hair straight so we can really see the true blend without curls hiding it
I wore tape in hair extensions for 8 years. Lucky for me I have very thick strong hair. LADIES if you have thin hair AVOID AVOID AVOID. You will 100% get traction alopecia after prolonged wear, it means the extensions will pull on the hair, weaken your hair follicle until it dies. If you MUST wear them rotate one month the upper head and the other month the lower part of your head. Also do microneedling for your scalp to keep the follicle alive. Add in strong scalp massage /flipped head once a week for 10 min and take hair supplements. I just took my extensions off and I am grateful I still have a lot of hair but others with thin hair are struggling with very little hair left. Good luck to everyone.
Yes!! 👏👏
Been wearing tape in hair extensions for almost 6 years. My hair is very thin but I only place it on where my own isn’t too thin, otherwise it will definitely cause traction alopecia for sure. It truly depends on placement. I’ve never had an issue.
@@stephaniejimenez8220 what brand do you use?
I’ve been wearing extensions for 10+ years (super thin hair) and I also am a hair extension specialist, if done correctly you shouldn’t run into this problem! I never have!
This greatly depends on the method you use, brand/type of tape, brand/type of extensions, what products you use on the hair, and what method you use to remove the extensions. To say that every single person with thin hair should "AVOID AVOID AVOID" is an irresponsible statement to make.
I love it … very good job
Woah! It looks great!
I absolutely love your nails.
Ty for this video! 💝
Hello great video I hope I can do this as I an in my 60s and have thinning hair. But I’ll give it a shot thanks
I find, in all the ways to put hair extensions this is the fastest and nicest. I thought you needed an iron to melt the tape with the other tape so it cant be removed. Wrong. Your hair are beautiful. Thank you for the video its a great help.
Thank you for such a well-made video. I learned a lot from you
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it helpful :)
You did great !
Girl u are amazing ♥️
Just ordered 2 bundles of hair from west label. Thanks girl!!!
Did you like them????
This was AMAZING. just saved me thousands of dollars
Thank you ❤️
Great excellent tutorial
Very clean and neat wirks
thank you so much :)
Beautiful work looks great! 😊
Do you have a video on how to remove them?
Very nice! ✨ I’ve seen some people use a flat iron to clamp the tape in at the top. Do you recommend that?
Wow! You’re are amazing, thank you for helping me to save money 💰😂😂
Great Video!
Amazing video!! I just have one question, what are you using to be able to see behind you? I’m struggling with position of my mirrors, curious about your set up since you made it look so easy!
Loved this tutorial! You did an amazing job explaining the whole process. How did you end up blending the extensions with your natural hair? I have shoulder length hair and always ask for tons of layers when I get new tape ins so that they blend when I curl my hair
Layers really help! For this set I just brought the tapes up as high as I could on my head to help with the blend. Ultimately you can still see where my hair ends but it makes it less noticeable if you bring the tapes up as high as you can and add a few layers :)
Thanks!I just subscribed.💕
About to go in on these hair extensions 🔥 thank you so much !
How’d it go ??
WoW your good at this! Thanx for this video ❤ u look so pretty with both long and short hair 🙂
Thank you so much for your sweet comment 💞🥰
Very good job 👌
Are you supposed to use a straightener to melt it together after like I have seen in other videos?
🍁🍂 Very nice step-by-step; after installing my tape-ins, I flatiron each sandwich approx. 2-3 seconds to ensure adhesion.
I was looking for this comment! I’m about to do my own tape ins and wondered if I could do this
I used to do this! But then I was told to stop doing that because it can actually weaken the tape. Maybe it depends on the tape brand?
If I have two tones do I add the lighter shade on top of the darker shade in the sandwich? Or vice versa
The way you did it, are you able to put you hair in a high ponytail or is it done to where you will always have your hair out?
How would this look on someone with 2-4 inch hair? Does it still blend well?
Great video
Watching this bc I am about to try to apply tape in extensions for the first time thank you for the helpful tips :) I love the song by the way! What is it called? Thanks
Thank You!!!!!
thank you!!!!!
Good job ty
Thank you
Love it
Gonna try these extensions 😮💨😮💨
Let me know how it goes! :D
How would you go about this if you just wanna add volume in the back? I got a short Mullet but the hair at the back of my neck are really fuzzy n go in all directions all over the place. I was thinking that 3 pieces with each a top n bottom tape would be plenty to make it look a lot better. Any thoughts?
Love this video how many pieces did you put in 💖
I personally myself really like the much lighter Brown ones!😁
Hey amazing video, I was wondering how many inches of hair did you use?❤️
