I really enjoy your tutorials, Tom. Fast paced, sequential, informative, with just enough background for understanding without getting lost in the weeds.
I like how all the good tutorials on build ups I've ever seen always have a "Boom! Something happens" line. Awesome tut maaan. Straight to the point :D
when you set the snare's reverb Input Processing to 'Lo Cut' it gives your build up more of the original body sound of the snare ( helps when you find a snare and you want that specific sound)
Thanks! Gave me a lot of ideas. Also, this amount of information would be impossible to condense in a video of 11 minutes if it wasn't for your lighting-speed speaking, so thanks again for saving us a lot of time.
I had a bit of trouble with this but finally figured it out, Make sure your Fades/Device chooser is on Audio Filter, and automation control chooser is set to frequencey and there you have it, took me about 30 minutes figure out why i was getting the stair case and not the straight line..
@biggtimemusic yes it would, you can kinda do that if you make a line then throw in a bunch of little ones, i just switched back to fl studio though, im way more comfortable using that then ableton, and after seeing what someone like porter robinson can do with fl, i figured there's no reason why i shouldnt use it
Tank u Tom!!!, I ve been looking this for days n finally someone explains it very clear. Would be great if u show us how to connect explosions or blast effects at the end of every whosh, like woooooshhhhhhh.... boooomm!!!
@gogswarriors In case you haven't sussed it already, all you have to do is go to File -> Export Audio/Video and select the track you want in the drop down menu under 'Rendered Track'. Just don't forget to set your markers to the length that you want :)
I Love basslines, acid lines, breakbeats, drum machines, glitches, pads, samples, vocals, FM, analogue, wave-sequencing, granular, guitars, drums, piano, orchestral strings, and a Hundred Other Types of Sounds But Whooshes Make Me Angry ! ! ! ggggrrrrrrr. Thanks for the vids :o)
Is there a video of you showing how to "Chop those" clips and everything you make yourself. Recording them, and saving your own clips somewhere? Please help! =D
Pretty amazing that he could do that whole video without breathing even once
I really enjoy your tutorials, Tom. Fast paced, sequential, informative, with just enough background for understanding without getting lost in the weeds.
Proper tut man, really nice to actually see and hear people explain what they are doing instead of "twitch this knob to 25" and "do this step exactly"
Fast and clear, you sure didn't waste my time ! Thanks a lot :)

Great video, clear and concise. It's incredible the amount of creators that fluff out videos with irrelevant content, you are not one of them :)
Had the pleasure of attending one of Tom's Ableton Bootlcamp sessions when he was in the UK earlier this year, was unreal man....
Such a helpful tutorial for a necessary production process! I've read your site for several years, but never seen a video before now.
Thanks! Gave me a lot of ideas.
