Sony SLV-SE200 repair

Very long time ago I repair a lot of video-recorder machines and so it comes that one man asking me about his machine - well the failure is a mystery but could I remember what the failures are? Hello. Your vidéos are very interesting... I want to.know if you accept to repair m'y portable DAT of Sony it's thé TCD08. At certain moments the sound IS on the both channels but After some seconds or minutes it's just one Channel. Mabye you can repair it ? I purchased it for 200 euros and î'm in France. Let me know thé costs. Thanks in advance

That is sad to hear from your portable DAT but in my time as a service I've only repaired some of the big stand alone machines and I'm very sorry to tell you this I don't repair any machines for consumers. But I know one thing about this issue and this is the heads are dirty so clean the heads with isopropyl and a papersheet. Don't move your hand up/down only hold your hand with the cleaning papersheet and put first the isopropyl on it in and on the same position. Then rotate the scanner in the runing direction (hold the cleaning paper fix in position don't move with it) and rotate it more then 3times in one direction with feeling sensitve! wait 2minutes that the isopropyl is gone and then make a test. If not the caps in the head amplifier are must change this is a little difficult you must open to complete machine I think. What Can I Say ? You are genius...even by message you manage to repair items... I follow your instructions and now it seems to work fine. Thé head needs again a good clean. I was afraid that IS a capacitor will need to bé replace. Thanks again so much ans happy New year.

@@mireillepinzuti183 the head cleaning should be work and remember the tape that you're playing where this problem occur this tape must be remove from the other working ones. Then if this failure come again we remember on the last tape this tapes can also be the cause. There are also cleaning tapes exist for the data drive DDS3 or DDS4 this is also possible to use from the outside without to opening the body. The other story is then the caps in the head amplifier that should be interchange and new one must be assembly. weakbit
