I can attest to the education system being utter trash here, slowly melting away the brains of everyone here along with the slurry of social media bullshit. I can only answer the history and geography related questions correctly because I have an actual interest in the topics and went and researched on my own time lmao
When I was in school they did teach this stuff but I also hating school so I didn't pay attention at all. That put me behind in a lot of basic knowledge. Despite all that, I could still answer almost all the questions he asked.
I am currently in school and can say it still sucks. As for history the only reason I excel in it is because I have researched history related topics for years now.
I remembered all of them except the year the US was founded I was off by 22 years but it sure as heck is a better guess than 1995.

I’ll be honest as an American that cares about school/ and is in this generation this sums up all my years of disappointment in to one. It ain’t even like the questions are hard too. In my opinion these are the kind of people to say “what will we ever even need this information for” and here they are not knowing shit. I could care less about not having personal priorities in education but don’t waste the time u have in school then end up like these peeps

Okay halfway throught the video. Im not the smartest guy and there are even a lot of commonly known things that i dont really know or remember and at the start i tried to be understanding like being put on the spot when questioned, i also typically have my mind just go blank at times. But when I heard Nazis vs germany on their civil war and the 4 seasons(where i lived is roughly just 1) is apperently the 12 month is just a bruh moment. As for the countries, i often mix up continents with it but I can still answer that with Russia, Japan and Germany for a quick answer.
And then the kardashian family came up and they answer that quuckly? Thats the moment where I just go "okay, it makes sense now."

We learn about states in elementary and middle school and slowly forget most of it.
I'm 20 and the only one I got wrong was the founding date, I was thinking 1773 but I was always horrible with remembering years.

The US has 14 other territories that haven’t been granted statehood for some reason so the number actually should be higher. I’d see why someone would answer 52 if they were thinking about American Samoa and Puerto Rico those are the only ones I’ve heard of on social media.
The fact that people like this are allowed to vote is literally insane.
They usually learn states and capitals in Elementary school in like the 3rd or 4th grade. Then again maybe in 6th grade when they have geography. Knowing there are 50 states and 50 star SHOULD be basic fundamental knowledge, but surprisingly isn't. A lot of it is that students in school just aren't interested in learning and don't find learning fun. The result is that students just memorize for the test and then forget. And schools get funding based on test scores, so they don't care either.
That's kinda the thing with American trivia. It always assumes you're American. The "3 countries" question though... I refuse to believe someone is that ignorant, I call staged.

As an American high-school student this is impossibly disappointing to see and as sad as it is to say I could not answer all of these questions with complete certainty. Specifically president # is 43 I believe but it could be 42 I'm not really sure to be honest.

Now, I disagree with the way people had to do tests to vote in the past as it was supposed to keep out the disenfranchised, but this makes me wonder if we need to institute a basic learning program since people likely forgot school topics.
Just as we make people take driving courses to ensure they can be responsible for the lives of others, voting for certain officials and policies is just as important.

USA education system needs some reforms
Not only can they vote but they are encouraged to vote. Especially by the Democrats who also want universal mail in voting and no voter ID check.
On the countries bordering the US, definitely Mexico and Canada, but I think you could argue Russia does. There's a Russian island and an American island where there are separated by only 40 miles of sea and they lie across the international date line.
Apparently the sea between them can freeze over and so you can just walk from Russia to the US and vice versa. And at that point, there is technically land between the US and Russia, and so technically a border them.

The how many continents question is a trick question tho, it depends on your definition
The typical answer is 7, but if continents need to be large landmasses separated by water we can actually cut it down to 3. So Afroeurasia, The Americas and Antartica, while Australia could be considered small enough to be the largest island in the world instead of a continent

@Cris Without H I mean, doubt anyone that truly knows what a continent is supposed to entail would reduce it to 3, BUT the answer variating from 7 to 5, I can see it feasible (depending on whether you count the Americas as a single continent or separate it North and South, wether you count Eurasia as a single or separate into Europe and Asia)
It really depends on your definition, yeah. It seems like in the US they teach North America and South America while here in Brazil we either consider just America (like in a question like this of how many continents there are) or separate it as South, Central and North.
