How to swipe - consistency, palette knives and moves for beginners & expierienced bloomers sheleeart

- Welcome and Hello my artsy friends!
Thank you so much for being here. This is about the bloom swipe. Just the moves and tools not how I mix my recipe, but just in case it's written down below.
I come from traditional painting and even though I loved fluid art I always missed the 'painting' part. By learning the bloom technique and putting my own spin on it by swiping I found a way to paint.
Now after two years of experience I want to share my ideas and knowledge.
Please let me know any questions you might have. I'm still working on a simple way to communicate with you through videos and it might still seem a little....confused. But I'm learning and hope my next tutorial will be more structured.
Don't forget to practice! The more experience you gain the more control you'll have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The spinner I'm using is my own design and creation. Every single workstep is done by my hands and my table saw (operated by me)
I sell these on my homepage and if you want to up your game and create on big canvases, you seriously should check it out!
DISCLAIMER: It's a tool for serious artists, I always recommend getting a small , cheaper spinner to try if spinning is your thing first. After you've tried other versions, I promise you'll appreciate this guy over all of them if you work with big heavy canvasses and you spin all the time, like me.

I use my version of the sheleeart recipe and here is the code for 15% off, if you'd like to learn from the originator of this recipe.

-----------------------------------
The wall paint I use in this is Glidden essentials 'white' in eggshell
The magic juice/Cell activator is mixed with australian floetrol. (1:1)
My Pouring medium:
Behr Dynasty deep base semi-gloss and minwax polycrylic (roughly 2:1) from Home depot
And thinning to the right consistency with JoSonja gloss varnish (Dick blick, jerys artsarama or Fluidart.co - please always check your local art store first - not the chains, if you can still find them...)

Thank you with all my creative heart!

I'm totally new to fluid art (2months). I've watches swiping videos and tried to copy what they were doing but there was no info on technique. Yours is the first video I've found with a clear explanation on how to hold the pallet knife, angle, pressure etc. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I loved 😍 this lesson.

I love your fun and crazy (in a good way) personality! 🥰💜💜
(And your art of course!! 😅😊)
Yay! Welcome Kara! I’m glad I finally made it into your life. Let’s have some fun!
Thank you so much! I just enjoy you so much...I love your personality, and you teach without being pushy or preachy. This was so, so helpful. I "kind of" figured out the angle thing, but it's so good to see it happen in real time. Fantastico!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad I could help!
I know, I hate when teachers yell. It usually makes me do the opposite, it always did. Not a teachers pet at all!
I have watched many many videos about fluid art before. I love Tara and Sera very much. Like them, Jessica is a very down to earth expert. She is the first to introduce the transfer swipe. She was the first one I saw putting the cell activator and paint on the pallet knife. Artist like Jody have given her credit the first time they used Jessica's technique. I love her sense of humor her, but humorous manner aside, she is a hard core artist who knows all there is to know to guide us all in this. I know you know this as well just put it her for those who are new to her work.
Lots of Very helpful visuals and explanation. This video will go in my forever keep file. Thanks so much. 🙂👏
Oh, wonderful! I’m glad it’s helpful!
Queen of the swipe!

Yes, very instructive. I want more!!! Please❤️

UA-cam tries to make you Winter Storm...lol. this tutorial was incredibly helpful. I have the spinner, yet not become too friendly with it yet. Your thorough explanation of using the tools was wonderful! Thanks for sharing your u ique techniques with us!!
Haha! Everybody does…! It sounds way better. Yes, there is a learning curve to it…
This is by far the best tutorial on bloom swipes! Thank you 🙏
Thank you so very much! ❤️

Oh good! Happy to help. Thanks for stopping by
Thank you. Thank you! You are an excellent teacher!
Oh , thank for saying (well, typing) that! ❤️
Thank you very much for the indicate! You are the best! ❤
This is extremely helpful and very informative. "Blowing technique" apparently has many fluid artists pulling out their hair instead of enjoying the adventure. Thanks for keeping it real! Absolutely beautiful 😍. Thanks Jessica.
Thank you so much! It indeed is an adventure 🦋
Since I started I've been hooked on the bloom technique I just love how it creates "blooms"?! 😂 But the pallet knife is not so easy I must persevere!!
Yes Mystery that's the word ❤
Thank you for taking time to teach this so it’s understandable!
Thanks for watching, Jill! (And thanks for understanding 🤓)
Thank you so much for your easy listening great detailed information. You have a great ability not only to paint, but also to teach! Thanks again!
Awww Sherry, that made me happy! Thank you so much
Jessica, I have just found you and I can honestly say that i have watched many many hours of tutorials by others but I have learned far, far more from this one. Thank you!
This is awesome! I’m so glad I could help. Thank you for your feedback, Glynis!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing some tips and tricks about this beautiful technique
You’re so welcome! Thank YOU for watching and taking the time to comment 😘
I learned heaps from this video - you’re a great teacher :) Thank you SO much
I’m happy to hear that. Thank you so much!
Very helpful. Thank you for your kindness explaining how to swipe.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
This was exceptional! Thank you so much! I need to check my tools and give this a try! What a great find to watch and learn from.
Thank you so much, carol! Thanks for being here 🌸🤓🌸
Thank you so much
Thank you for watching!
Wow again you make it look so easy 😍
Thank you!
This video is exactly what I needed! I struggle with swipes and digging too far into the pillow and not getting the lacing all the way to the end of my swipe. Very very informative! Love this Jessica. ❤️👏
I'm so glad! I do that a lot. It's really hard to know how much paint there is. It's always different!
Jessica!! Thank you so much for all your help with the swipe.... I've watched a ton of videos, yours is the first one I've seen that shows the close up of how to hold your knife at that angle. I always seem to go too far into the pillow. Can't wait to try it! Your painting turned out beautiful ❤️❤️
Thanks, Lori! Yeah, I tend to go too deep too. The looser and lighter your hand moves the better…
So true. I’ve never heard all the important details she shares
🙌🙌🙌❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌 I will watch this twice. I am lazy🤣💯 I'm working on my Blooms. I'll be transferring soon.
Yay! Yeah, I’m lazy too…🤓 can’t wait to see your adventures!
Omg! I freaking love your shirt!!!!
LOL!
Love your shirt Jessica, Shera was my favorite!
Mine too! So much more sophisticated than He-man! 😂
Subscribed right away! I love swipes and also open cup pours, so this was very helpful - thank you :)
Thanks for subbing! I never did an open cup before. I might one day...
YOU are great teacher. Thank you for this class.
You have guided me so nicely.
And yes I am inspired.
Perfect! Thanks and have fun painting
Thank you so much for your very enlightening instructional video! So glad I found your channel, thanks to Suzan Verberne. You explain things so well!
Awww, she’s so kind. And a great artist.
Thanks for being here, Linda
Great video! Super informative and entertaining. Thanks a bunch! 💚
I’m happy I could help! Thank you for watching!
I’m so inspired. I learned so much. Thank you
Woohooo! Then I did it right. Happy painting!
Thank you for this girl, this was immensely helpful! Going to practice now 😃 I love the piece that came of it too! 💜💜💜
Ha! As if you need my help… I appreciate it, Jodie! 💕
@@WinterStromArt oh girl, you influence me more than you know! The angle of the swipe is what gets me, I do it flat sometimes and am like why isn’t this working! 😂
Omg that is AWESOME
Thank you, Johanne!
Okay, let me talk about the art now! 🤣🎨🤷🏻♀️
Brilliant, and thanks for explanations and comparisons of the thicker and thinner PMs. The first demonstration looked like four very cool shedded snake skins. 🐍.
Loved how you took the time to make this video and show all sorts of swipe
Love the painting.
Thank you! 💓💗💕
Did I tell you already, that I’m glad you’re here?!
🌸
I have a lot of trouble swiping with the pallet knives. This was very helpful, I learned a lot. Thank You!
Oh, im so glad it helped! Thank you Susan!
“SWOOPS”. Great word
Love, love, LOVE your t-shirt! The original She-Ra was my JAM growing up. The new series they put out on Netflix makes me angry. :P Anyway, thank you for sharing your tips on swiping. I've been keeping my pallet knife flat as opposed to angled. I'll have to give that a try.
I loved she-ra. I mean, ‘the princess of power" …! I’m glad I could help. Yes, you’ll create cells with a flat paletteknife, too but the angl and the pressure are the key to be able to get most out of your paints… thanks for being here with me!
