Really enjoyed the Stuart McGlennon love fest ( rightly deserved by the way ) and nice to see Adam again . Some great images shown throughout but by far the best was the environmental portraiture of Jamie Noddy Overland really showed his true character ! I can totally relate to what Gary was saying about seeing so many fantastic images all the time can leave you feeling a little deflated with your own work, yes its nice to have something to aspire towards but dont let it consume you , shoot for yourself, its been said many times for most of us its a hobby and you should enjoy what you do . Looking forward to having Noddy back next week 🙂

Gary, Gary, Gary we should never judge our abilities by the abilities of others. The way to measure progress is to judge yourself on your personal journey NOT the journey of others who may be much further in their journey than you are. Great video again this week guys

I'm ashamed to say I've only just started to watch these pubcasts. When I came across them, I initially thought watching a group of blokes talking about photography was going to be like watching paint dry, but how wrong I was. It's a refreshing change to see a back and forth discussion with some humour, rather than the usual out of context rows we now seem to get with social media.
Keep up the good work chaps.

I don’t know if the banter today bordered on Stu love or Stu bullying 😂😂😂😂, brilliant guys and Adam , btw. All the images were spectacular

Great to watch Stuart and friends.
3 things we love about Stuart:
    1. He's an amazing photographer
    2. He's got a great sense of humour
    3. He's sporting a lovely beard

This was really enjoyable to watch. I'm a hobbyist and my photography is totally in another sub-universe in terms of subject / location, quality, creativity and skill but I do share the commonality of love for landscapes. Subscribed!

Bloody excellent Pubcast, but heavens above Stuart, you have my sympathies. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get so embarrassed bless you. An interesting discussion about what makes someone a great photographer; none of you mentioned the character of the person. I'd rang Steve Gosling as one of my greats - not only does he create belting images, but he is also a really nice person, and has a way of talking about his art that is both informative and entertaining. With any of Steve's images I can hear his voice describing why he created it and why it means so much to him. Very much part of the package for me. Seasons greetings to you all.

Gary, we all start feeling inadequate or like slackers when seeing all the great work today. I then go to my 'look at me portfolio" to see if I need to throw in the towel then realize I actually measure up OK.It hit me bad this year when I discovered UA-cam landscape photographers and how I had dropped the ball on new technique with tall the new tools. My Landscape had fallen behind because of my bifurcation of interests between wildlife and lifestyle.
Now I’m re-inspired and diving into the new masking techniques, of course using all the new tools like a sledge hammer instead of a delicate brush but after I get enough colorful pixels butchered I will reach the maturity that can only be learned by a hangover.
Cruise your bests then realize you do measure up and need to get out there - Cheers ~

Always good for a few laughs, this was another excellent video, although I don't know whether Stuart will ever be back after this week! Good to see Adam on as the guest also.My thought on the one thing that will make you a "Good Photographer" has to be discipline...the ability to get out even when you may not feel like it,because you have to be out time and time again in order to find those images that put you in that status.Look forward to next week's Stuart Lovefest,I mean pubcast!

I really like Adams work, I was looking across the room at a framed print of his from his Aspen series, I have the Zene and his book Quiet Light. This made me think what is it that I like about his work and I realized he's a working mans Stuart McGlennon 😍
When Gary mentioned being downhearted seeing how good the work was in the NLPA book it reminded me of something similar-ish. In 2022 I did a year long project on an area and getting near the end I started thinking it would work as a book but then I thought, Who am I kidding. Me, a book! pft
Then in early Jan I was meeting a friend who knows everyone in Scottish photography, does a lot of judging and I thought he would be honest if I asked his opinion if I should go for it. He'd seen the project on it's website but I took along some prints so he's get a better feel for them. After looking he said "Have you thought about doing a book?" in the next nanosecond I inwardly punched the air and shouted YES!! before without breaking what he was saying continued wit "just for yourself!"
    Speak about gutted!

That was great, one of the best in my opinion. I liked the discussion about what makes a great photographer and whilst agreeing with all you said I would add another. I think you have to be good at noticing thngs around you and identifying something as a picture, I am often amazed by what a lot of people just don't see. Thanks for the mention and all the accolades for SM he really deserves it, I love his videos and the pictures he produces. Merry Christmas to you all.

Another great episode. It’s interesting to see who great photographers aspire to. Do any of you ever look at different genres and enjoy work that’s very different to landscape photography? Gary, I wonder if you invited Stuart or any other award winning photographer, to your local area to photograph, what they’d come up with. Don’t give yourself a hard time. It’s hard to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
Lovely to see Adam on the pubcast. Looking forward to the Christmas edition 😊

    Absolutely brilliant Gary.
I have watched quite a few of them and love the banter and also the serious side of it.
This is the first time i have commented.
    Poor Stuart.
I thought you were going to say, and joining us tonight Stuart Little.
    I thought everyone's image's were great.
A big shout out to Sam who we met when we went to Skye on our trip and met up with him and Hannah at Elgol for a sunset shoot which was brilliant.
Look forward to the next Podcast.

A great guest and hopefully can get him back again soon.
Stuart's photography needs talking about as his images are spit on.
All of you guys on the pudcast old and new I watch and get inspiration from
    Topic to discuss.
Who would you lot like to play your role if you could ask anyone with your same traits 😂

Yet another fabulous pubcast from you all, thanks everyone. Have to say Gary, when you asked “what have you won Daz?” I was just waiting for someone to say “definitely not a contract for that work!” 😁 the conversation about what makes a good photographer was interesting, relevant and thought provoking, definitely one to take forward with the added realisation that it’s alright to be an ‘OK’ photographer too, especially when it’s done for a hobby and not a living. Full of giggles at the end when you all turned into Stuart McGlennon fan boys. Actually, I find him very inspiring too - but then I’ve been watching his channel for a while longer than I have the rest of you. Looking forward to the Christmas Special next week, have a good one everyone

I haven't laughed so much since........oh yes, the last Pubcast!! 'Poor Stuart' - I'd love to be the taker of his shots and the recipient of so many compliments about them, but what a wonderfully modest bloke he is. Great to see Adam again too for a slightly differrent take on things - not necessrily any better, just different. Great stuff.👏👏👏

Great Episode guys, its taken me 4 x longer to mount some pictures, cuz I kept watching and laughing. Got the measurements wrong twice. Great show, good to see Mr Gibbs there and how do we sign up up for the Stuart fan club. 🤣 Mind you I think the Derwent Water panno picked by Darren was something special.

Yup... think all your listeners/watchers will be smiling at the end of the this episode.. great fun. Love the discussion out forward by Robin and it made for some interesting thoughts for sure. If you all turn up in I Love Stew t shirts next week that would be fun 😊 Seriously though and following on from the book thing touched upon earlier in the pubcast I wonder if Mr McG has thought about bringing out a book? Would love to see Adams collection of books - that really is a huge number. I recall him doing a couple ofn episodes where he made recommendations - from one of them I sourced out a copy of Joseph Holmes "Natural Light" I was going to wish you all a Merry Christmas but looks like you might be back before Santa arrives then.. atb Al

What a laugh. Embarrassing moment narrowly avoided by myself was bumping into you Gary and Dave at Ryde Ddu April earlier this year with a group of other photographers. You were walking with a few chaps ahead of Dave and a few more. We exchanged 'Hello's' and a few words and carried on, it wasn't till I met Dave a minute or so later and confused you with Mali. Dave said you'd be really upset if he told you. Anyway great conversations again, the Stuart fan club is rapidly expanding and must say one of my favourite images by another is Stuart's horses in the snow from last year I believe. It might pay you to book into one of his work shops and you might be able to compete with him. 🤣

I was about to complain re no Santa Hats, but I have to wait next week. Hooray. Stuart is just so unassuming and maybe doesn't realise just what a photographic talent the Lord has given him. Nice to see Adam again joining the fun. Maybe we can liken this Podcast to the hit musical "Oliver" MORE of Stuart. Well done all.

Great show, really enjoyed it. Lost of great points I thought:
    - liked that Adam acknowledged that those doing photography in their spare time means the chances of a stunning shot are less frequent.
    - David’s point about being able to name photographer’s who inspire you…. I wonder if it comes from a lack of knowledge or people not wanting to come across as attempting to emulate someone’s style?
    - I also have a terrible book obsession! 😂 I would also advocate making your own!
