nice eel at 14:51. I was spearfishing in Hawaii back in 2019 and had a 6 foot giant moray eel shred my right hand apart after catching an octopus. spend 2 days in the hospital with extensive hand surgery and over 2.5 months of recovery, and now I'm back in the water. the grind waits for no one 🤙🏽
Dan great thanks for sharing. Love to see your buddy right away with you when you went in the cave looking for that sweet piece. NIce beautiful spot. Those giants, OMG!!
Mine as well James, I first dove it in 1980 on my 1978 24' Angler...crap electronics and dive gear but still was blown away by the sheer magnificence of it. Was def hooked and still am today! Best, Dan
Ill admit I was worried a little when you went inside what appeared to be a cave to retrieve the fish... Thank you for sharing hunting as-is and not making it look like every shot is a stoning shot. You are my hero.
Dan, Im sure you don't post all of your dives, but I'm just curious. What percentage of dives do you encounter sharks worth worrying about? Love all your vids. Keep posting!!!
0904, it all depends. The Shallower stuff during the warmer months is thick with Sharks. If you dive between 20'-150' while it's hot out, you're going to have more Shark encounters. Most of them vamoose south during the colder months but some like Sandbars stay all year. If you have fishy numbers, you're going to see a lot more than guys that don't have that quality of numbers. Sharks def like to hang where there's lots of food (fish). I guess I'll say that in the deep stuff maybe 1 out of 10, and on the MG in the Summer, probably 1 out of 2. Best, Dan
KTG, I usually try and shoot the more evasive fish first and then work the "dumber" ones later. A lot of times, we're restricted by seasonal closures or limited quota. For example right now, Red Grouper quota is almost non-existent so we're passing those up. Best, Dan

That was almost an official goat rodeo but not quite… Ha ha thanks for sharing Dan nice video
Thanks Randy, I really like the term "Goat Rodeo" although I always try to avoid being part of one! Best, Dan
The middle grounds is my favorite area to dive! Always a cool experience.

Love that first shoot
Great video Dan!
Nice looking spot. Those scamp were messing with you😂.
Ol barnacle still at it nice hunt
your shots are excellent ... but I still don't understand how your prey can't escape without using a line 👍🏴☠️
Reef fish's instinct is to "hole up" when injured or if hit in a vital area, they are immobilized
Do you see big green moray eel‘s on your dives? We dive much shallower but the big green eels scare me more than the sharks..
That was fun to watch! So about that big moray.......... have they EVER been on the menu?
I've had some. If I remember correctly, I think we had it deep fried. It was delicious.
JH, I've never tried it but like Rob said, I've heard it's delicious. Best, Dan
Nice shooting again Dan
Ellerinize sağlık yanlız balıklar için ayrı ayrı ip mi birakiyorsunuz onu anlamadim
What are your thoughts on the open season for jewfish? Not worth the cash in my opinion. I think its 26" -36" if not mistaken.
Going under the coral hole to retrieve your fish is bad ASS
Dan, what do you do with the Hogfish you get? Can restaurants buy them or are they for your own consumption?
Awesome
Thank you! Best, Dan
Awesome 👍
We have seen frisco before. It seems to never dissapoint.
Congratulations
Amazing content as always. Still considering making a few of these guns for sale? 🤪😅
Dan let's collab!! You hunt the bottom and I'll hunt pelagics! 🤔
Thanks, Dan. Stay safe, brother.
What is that thing you always put on the tip of your spear
Hi, are you using plastic clips for the rubbers? dont they cut it?

I watched this video before. You added same video.
Yep, 4 months ago and you're the only comment on it that I found
I was going to say this all seemed very familar. But no one else seemed to notice.
Avoid to jump together at same time with both spear armed.
WOWWWW 👌🍷🍷🍷
所有的潛水員都一樣 上岸都是累
Dan in ur past video i was just curios why you're cherry picking on fish to shot? In my case i would shot any desent size fish.
