I still find it funny that instead of replacing Xingqiu or being replaced by Xingqiu, the community instead decided to use them together and it's actually broken. Their synergy with one another reminds me of Xiangling + Bennett and Beidou + Fischl.
@@Umeshkumar-tj8lc basically they work perfectly well. With c6 xq in team u can get yelan burst 100% always even with 110er. And double hydro may not beneficial for everyone but for yelan hp 25% is very good. They both do tonne dmg while main dps can actually do rxns. So yea that's y it's pretty broken to use them both together
@@DiogoVKersting true. I won't deny that xq yelan double hydro is so broken that it can probably clear content without any other party members. I was just saying that sometimes (i did say "depending on the content" if you missed it) you want a xingqiu on both sides of the abyss, making splitting them up more efficient.
Yelan is a pull that I mostly made on a whim after the eternal Ayaka banner, but she has proven to be so useful and convenient. Easy to build without too much investment for good payoff. I don’t regret getting her at all! I’m considering getting her c1 this time around.
Yelan C1 is up there as one of the best, if not the best, traversal skills in the game. It’s on par with Kazuha’s E, except Kazuha gives you height and Yelan gives you speed. With C1 + Sayu, you could use both Yelan Es and then switch to Sayu E and basically you’ll never walk again. It’s infinite running.

i just don't get why people want her right now... this is quite literally the worst time in the game to get a hydro 5 star support, as hydro archon is coming in a few patches, not to mention xq is better than her.. (free, higher hydro app, fills the role of a defence option allowing for more aggressive team building)
Her E skill is already 70% of a reason for me to pull. I spent so much time jogging across the new desert area + puzzles that want bow, having Yelan sounds heavenly. I know there's Sayu, but I've tried Yelan out during events and her E feel smoother in comparison.
Forgot to mention that her Breakthrough Barbs are very OP in overworld in the "explode the barrels" challenges. You don't need to aim the barrel itself but you can aim of terrain nearby (similar to Ganyu)
by virtue of being a hydro unit, Yelan is already SO incredibly valuable!! she can slot into virtually any team comp, doesn’t require much in terms of investment to get her started, and is very f2p friendly to boot! i’d say the only downside to Yelan is having to farm those dumb little seashells but even then you can just co-op those to get her leveled quicker lol
She’s damn good at farming her own seashells too. Since they tend to be spread apart on the coasts, just hold E and making a B line is generally enough before you head to the next shore.
Though I'm now in AR 55+ late game, I'm still a relatively "new" player. When I started playing (3.0/Cyno banner) and was learning about the game, I kept running into tons of hype around "must have" DPS chars, especially Raiden and Hu Tao. I couldn't wait to get my chance to add them to my roster. Now that I have a much better understanding of the game, my account needs, and my preferred playstyle, next week will make the second time in 3 banners I skip the "must have" that I used to dream of getting to pull the hydro unit instead lol
@@gktte2574 exactly. For my first 40 or so adventure ranks I was disappointed that I had managed to pull a bunch of great supports but no "real" DPS chars to "carry" the team. Eventually though I realized I was actually lucky and wouldn't really change anything.
I pulled for Yelan during her initial release as a "2nd Xingqiu" but honestly, she ended up being more than that. Amazing for exploration, very easy to build plus amazing performance relative to time invested, not to mention that she ended up being part of Hu Tao's best team. She even feels better to use compared to Xingqiu for those situations where you don't need so much hydro application like in national or dendro teams because of her faster field time and mobility due to the speed of her skill compared to Xingqiu (even more so if Xingqiu has Sac Sword). Yelan may not be the flashy dps character you flex to others but honestly, she's probably the most worth it character that I pulled for and that's comparing her to characters like Raiden, Hu Tao and Zhongli.
I pulled on Yelan because she looked cool and I needed another “Xingqiu” but what I got was an overall upgrade to my entire account because of how strong and easy she is to build and use.
For me it's something that deters me haha. but the damage is interesting... although I don't have that many teams for her she's still a valuable character
What Hoyo got right about Yelan was making her useful in every kind of content. Her DPS is at its peak during her burst (abyss), her speed is at its peak during her skill (overworld), and she's a female (incognito mode).
Im planning to aim for C0 Yelan and C6 Xingqiu. The rest for Simulacra since I can use Yelan's bow for Ganyu, I can also R5 Yoimiya's Rust and if I get Homa spooks, I'll just give it to Zhongli. Everything all leads towards strengthening Yoimiya's Team.
yohimiha c0 + yelan c0 + xinqiu c6 + zhonlgi c0 is my main and favourite team and it works so amazing. Sometimes I switch yohimiya with ayaka or raiden shogun which is also a great combination. but espeically the first combination mantioned have so much synergy and works amazing together. And with good timing on the rotation, all skills (yelan and xinyui off flied skill + zhongli shield + yohimiya fire attacks) have almost the same duration. and if everything is over, you can literally go for the next rotation cause mostly all have their burst ready again. - yohimiya shoots from far away so you don't have to walk much in fights, which save a lot of time and increase the damage per second even more. - If you fight a tanky enemy, you can run near it and provide from the 20% shield shred from zhongli + 15% hydro shred from xinqui. - 2 water means hydro resonance which increase hp of all of them, which is good for yelan dmg and zhongli shield. And also 3 different elemental in team give yelan a good additional hp boost out of her passive. (my yelan has 40k hp in this combination) - zhongli shield + xinqiu dmg reduction literally makes you invincible against most content in the game cause both stack multiplicatively which is insane. And also amazing for yohimiya cause she has low base hp compared to other characters and her damage per second doesn't work if she gets interrupted much. both are no more problem with the heavy shield. - xingqiu is an amazing battery also for yelan to give her 100% uptime on her burst for every rotation. (once yelan is c1, this is never a problem anymore) - this team setup works amazing in overworld, if you have to fight not so strong enemies but alot of them because you don't need to run that much in fight. and ofc obviously her charge is amazing for exploration, especially with c1. All these synergies make this team my absolute favourite in the game :) And I will go for yelan c1 in the next banner to improve my favourite team even mroe and make exploration much easier :)
Yelan carried me through ar 20-57 and I Strongly reccommend pulling for her. she doesnt need bennett which is a w since you can use bennett at the other half
Yelan is one of the characters that I don't regret having. The selling point for me was her being called a 5-star Xingqiu, and I needed that since I use Xingqiu a lot. Plus her mommy energy is too powerful to resist. I am planning to get her weapon and maybe her C1 as well. RIP wallet.
TIP: With C1 or sac bow, you can quickly use the press version of her E twice before your burst and still catch all the particles, so you can save time on rotations and not have to swap off the main dps to get more energy for Yelan. Although it may take some practice!
I stumbled into pulling her by luck when I came back from a year away from Genshin without knowing what she would do, and she’s one of my fav and best character pulls ever. She’s been fun to use in over world for exploration and farming anything I need as well as a great benefit to my spiral abyss runs. I would always recommend her. 💙💙
@@joeltoomer3332 her damage scale directly off her HP, if one manages to get her burst up ( 20-25 sec rotation), on pure HP build ( around 40k+) the damage is quite substantial. But thanks to that ER crippling issues, a pure HP build means having a slot occupied with a liability unit.
@@RejectedInch I have the recurve bow on her so she has above 50 k, 56 if its all different element characters from her passive, she also has the emblem 2 piece + substats and her ER is around 140 and its ussualy enough to get her burst up, if I need more ER I ussualy switch to fading twilight for around 170 ER, she does solid damage, when its a crit her E skill can even do about 53 k

@@JacquesLuu no bc the bow can fail for one, and it prevents her from using another bow (fav, elegy, slingshot, aqua etc). Also it doesn't work without enemies, so you can't travel with double e in overworld.
When Yelan was released, i had stocked enough primos to get my C0 Kazuha to C2... But i was sold by that E ghost skill linking ennemies together, to the point Yelan took all my savings to get her C1 + Aqua. Absolutely no regret! She has been my most fun and most used unit since then. Can't wait to get her to C3 or C4 next week (i saved for her rerun since end of Nahida's banner) then saving again to C6 her next year.
When Yelan was announced, I knew I would get her because she looked fun. After playing her test trial, she was even more fun than I expected and I pulled right away. Because I loved her gameplay, damage, and traversal right off the bat, she became the first and only character I've immediately gotten the first constellation and signature weapon of. She's great, she's fun, and she's now an overworld staple!
Yelan was one of my most anticipated characters because I needed another Hydro Sub DPS and tbh she exceeded my expectations. She’s so versatile and can fit into any team but in Double Hydro is where she shine. You should definitely pull for her if you can because I will definitely get her C1.
Yelan is my absolute favorite character gameplay-wise. She is the closest thing to a must pull in this game if you have a Pyro DPS but also want to run the classic Raiden national.
I have C2 Yelan and she almost never leaves my team. - Her C1 is my favorite constellation I’ve ever gotten for any character. It makes zipping around the overworld a breeze. Not to mention, it helps with energy generation! - Her C2 adds more hydro application and damage. I feel like I’m at McDonald’s, cuz I’m lovin’ it.
Pulled the Simulacra trying to get the jade spear for Xiao, so I decided to throw my last wishes on Yelan’s banner on a whim… Turns out she’s one of the best characters you could hope for, versatile, useful for exploration, ridiculous damage and incredibly fun to play overall
as a yelan haver, she basically became my new dps after a very long time with hu tao lol though hu tao is currently so strong that i basically use her as my immediate go to if i want an easier time in bosses or enemies, but yelan is just more convenient. yelan is great both in combat and exploration (which where hu tao is not so good at), and rather than swapping teams for exploration and fight, i can just have one character for both. not to mention, a bow user, one of my fave weapons to use since i used to main amber, and that prior to getting her, i believe i was at a time where i almost lack bow characters. another thing why she's great addition is because she's one of the three hydro characters i had, with most hydro units being 5 stars, which gave me a bit more selection of hydro units. also, currently the only character i have where i also managed to pull their weapon. i i immediately built her after that, it's too good of a pull to just let them be not used lol
was so happy they extended that ayaka banner for so long (obviously not happy about why they had to), because I was able to save enough wishes as f2p to get yelan c1 & her bow on her first banner. i never had a main before her, but now i just feel uncomfortable if she's ever not in my party. so strong for hard content like abyss and so fun for overworld exploration. using her w/ sayu is like having a mount lol.
I was so lucky with Yelan when she first came out. I was just trying to pull and literally got her after around 30 wishes. She has become a must in my team ever since, in terms of utility and how cool her character is. Easy to play and build. One of my absolute fave characters ❤

Current: no Yelan, C1 XQ Banner goals: C0 Yelan, C2+ XQ I'll admit I'm mostly pulling for XQ and Beidou cons, but with ~80+ pulls to dump into this I'll be pretty happy if I win my 50/50 and get to add Yelan to my roster.
I already had a Yelan and shes my favorite unit (after Raiden) and is pretty much in every team. Especially Vape comps are awesome because her elemental skill does a massive amount of damage when it triggers vape wich can be very satisfying when finishing enemies off. I'm a 100% going for a second copy in the upcoming rerun just to do that more and so I can sonic run across Teyvat more.
Yelan was my third ever limited 5 stars character and I honestly have never regretted the resources put into her. She's so versatile and strong, works with so many different units, has accessible builds and Is great for exploration. Truly a wonderful unit
One thing important about Yelan, is she enables double hydro mono Liyue for Hu Tao, who can then make full use of Lithic Spear, which at R5 and full Liyue gives a lotttttt of stats for a 4* weapon
I got her and ngl doing her quest as a Lantern Rite prerequisite (yes, I know I can quick start but I wanted to do it anyways) was a huge motivator...HYV knows how to time their marketing well.
Aw, you didn’t even mention how well she performs on field as the on field damage dealer. Her damage isn’t a lil more than Xingqiu, if built for on field, it can be A LOT. I have c1r1 Yelan, triple crowned, 44k hp and 75/250 ratio (140ER). It’s crazy how much damage she can do with team buffs and her own buff, at her buffs peak her burst ticks at 23k, her skill hits around 120k, and barbs hit around 60k, without any vaporize. It’s a lot of fun, I highly suggest. I plan on going for c6 (overtime, through saving). I have 200 wishes for her rerun, hoping for c3 (we’ll see though). Best of luck to those wishing for her!
@@MeepMop21 I pulled for hutao and homa on her first rerun in 2.2 (or 2.3?), and pulled for yelan last year. I do use her with Xingqui and Yelan, it boosts her HP and also add either kazuha or zhongli (depending on the abyss situation). Currently im going for a guarenteed C1 hutao. Tbh, C1 hutao is much better than hutao+homa if you have dragon's bane, it just cancels all charge attacks stamina consumption giving you a high quality of life upgrade for her gameplay. Although I have homa, I did not see any issues using her without C1, she's still good with just C0. So my recommendation (but this is all luck anyways, so please spend responsibly), get her, get yelan then look for their constellations then look for her weapon (homa) in this order, that way at least you get 2 good characters and you might pull for the weapons later as the weapon banner is a scam anyways. Also if you happen to get yelan, you really do not need her weapon at all, because it just hightens her personal damage at the expense of overall team damage and ease of use, imo the best yelan weapon in a team where she's a support is Fav bow, then sac bow, then any crit rate/dmg weapon, because she needs a LOT of ER. Although Xingqui helps lower her ER requirements, it does not mean that you can just slap a crit weapon on her, fav also helps your team's energy extremely well, and since yelan scales with crit rate, she can help your team tremendously! So my final say is: Yelan then Hutao Then C1 hutao then the weapon banner in this order. Yelan is extremely flexible with teams so her priority is higher than hutao who has a limited set of "good" teams, even if hutao has a lot of damage output (I prefer flexibility over selfish damage dealer like hutao when choosing characters). But remember that they will have reruns again, so you don't need to spend everything or spend too quickly on this banner, you can always get what you want later on, please be responsible with your spending 👍. And best of luck.

I mean if you have it, good for you but for most, fav bow is still the best weapon for her because it's accessible and easy to obtain compared to elegy. But yes, stats wise, elegy is technically better but it's harder to get than the rest.
When she was first leaked I was ready to get her just based on her looks. Later she got called a 5* xingqiu but people soon realised her value as an individual unit and how strong double hydro was. So honestly there is no reason not to pull for her except if you for some reason don’t like her or is saving for someone.
If you have even the slightest interest in yelan I highly highly highly recommend getting her. She is one of the characters that “unlocks” your account and goes a long way to helping you clear content and built great teams.
Yelan C1 and Aqua Simulacra enjoyer here. One of my best units I have so far. For me, she is at the same level as Kazuha in terms of exploration and gameplay. She is literally always in my team and I can't get bored of her. Her dmg is also nuts. I would pull for C2 but as Hoyoverse don't want to give as endgame, I don't see any reasons to do so. Can easily recommend her to anyone (even at c0 with fav / sac bow she is really good)
Everything about her is perfect. Her voice, character design, personality, kit, application. Plus now with dendro element, she's easily a must pull for me at least.
I will pull for her cuz shes amazing on team comps and flexibility cuz you can have Yelan in one team and Xinqiu on the other one. So you can have 2 teams Hyperbloom on the abyss

Yelan being a slower hydro applicator doesn't even matter much. Her attacks do a lot more damage than Xingqiu's. Whether you're vaporizing/buffing hydro or pyro, it doesn't really matter. Missing a vape on a 30k Hu Tao charged attack doesn't really matter when you can vape some 15k attacks or a 40k group skill attack. Her constellations are also all really good which easily pulls her ahead of any hydro character in the game. She's a significant improvement over Xingqiu. Literally just need to stack hp, er hydro dmg, and crit stats. She's one of the few characters that cares a lot about hp so your best hp pieces can easily be given to her. Reaching a decent investment level for her is pretty easy. Her best set is also, undisputably, EoSF so she can just be farmed along with other characters. Her weapon is great because it gives her a lot of crit dmg. It's also a really strong bow for pretty much any bow character. The upcoming weapon banner also features Staff of Homa which is one of the best, if not the best, polearms for many characters. This eliminates a lot of the risk as both rate-up weapons are very good and versatile. You might not be so lucky in future weapon banners while her constellations can be obtained on any of her reruns.
I didn't wanna use Xingqiu despite liking his kit, so I wanted Yelan. Ironically, after having Yelan, I started using Xingqiu more because of double hydro. 😂
I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to pull for Yelan. She is the coolest character! Ticks all the boxes, definitely 10 out of 10! Can you tell I like her?
As a new player with c1 beidou as main dps and kaeya as sub dps plus benny, this banner could be an absolute win. I simply cant pass the chance of getting 2 of the best hydro appliers, and getting another cons for beidou, and she is also currently available at paimon's bargain this month! I've had C2R1 Yelan since her first release banner. She's in the top 3 of my favorite characters alongside Raiden (also C2R1) and Yoimiya (C0R1). Personally, I think C2 and R1 Aqua were absolutely worth it, but they were also pretty expensive and I would not actively suggest anyone else pull them. If you want to, I wouldn't talk you out of it, but it's expensive enough that I don't want to push for it.
I have her c1 r1 and id put her in my top 4. I like Eula, Zhongli and Kuki just a tad more but ill be trying for more cons for yelan since I have over 200 pulls and if I get to at least c4 ill prob spend until c6. I dont have Yoimiya but I absolutely see myself really liking her if I ever decide to get her. Raiden I own but im one of the few ppl who don't really enjoy her.
Everyone said Yelan was a 5* Xingqui, but that's not a bad thing. I use her so much more often than Xingqui too because of her skill's exploration factor
the same can be said on Kazuha being a 5* Sucrose. I think whenever a broken 4 star character gets a 5 star counterpart that automatically should be a worthy pull
I usually like your guides in all characters and my go-to guide for new characters, but it seems like on this video you downplayed Yelan so much. I have a fully built C6 Xingqui but when I switched him with Yelan, the damage of my team just went to a way higher level. And is very F2P friendly. I think you also failed to mention that Yelan can work as a Main DPS aside from being a Sub DPS ala Raiden Shogun. Her normal attacks are so quick which makes her Burst damage and Hydro application quicker too. She also helps your team's overall energy recharge needs when using Favonius Warbow, with her attacks having so many hits she can be a good battery for your team unlike Xingqui. She carried my electro charge team as a Main DPS in Spiral Abyss.
Can you explain exactly what part here "downplayed" her? Does sevy have to say "pull her at all costs" for it to be enough for you? Reason why the DMG of your team went to a "way higher level" can be because 1: the team doesn't need the faster Hydro app of XQ anyway and 2. Your XQ simply did not have the same level of investment as Yelan. Which was already stated. I'm not sure what you mean that she can be a "Main DPS" vs being Sub DPS? If you're saying she's supposed to be on-field, then why do that when someone else can be the better on-field unit who can do quick NAs too and apply another element possibly. You could let her get her own DMG bonus, but there are much better ways to maximize that while she's still off-field. If you paired her with Raiden shogun, why not let Raiden drive? A lot of other units can help with Fav weapons (even XQ). Fav also doesn't trigger off-field jsyk and it has a refresh rate. If you mean she's staying on-field just to proc Fav, that sounds worse than letting a better on-field unit drive her and just quickswapping her in to trigger Fav when it's ready. But hey, if she carries your team, then cool, that IS her job.
In her video especially in the early parts she keeps repeating Yelan just does the same things as Xingqui, although more on the offense side. So I explained in my comment the other advantages of Yelan as compared to Xingqui which as I said she didn't mention. Like I said I have a fully built C6 Xingqui and pulled for just a C0 Yelan during her first banner with only a Favonius Warbow as her weapon and she's already an upgrade to Xingqui. Don't get me wrong I really like Xingqui, he carried me from early AR20s to AR55s but the improvements of the switch to Yelan was very evident for me and my Vaporize team.

Then, you literally agree that she is a dmg upgrade for you, therefore she is more offensive. Sevy stated she has more offense, which is also true. I still don't see what's been "downplayed"? These are only facts. Even the fact that some people cannot seem to wrap their head around that C6 Xingqiu vs C0 Yelan at similar investments in separate teams results in very close personal DMG output. Then the things you're claiming that weren't said are suboptimal, niche, or even incorrect. There are also a lot of parts discussed where Yelan excels at. Do you want every second of every Yelan video just blindly praising how she is broken, irreplaceable, and completely unique? I don't get it.
Because it sends a message that Yelan provides the same value with Xingqui which for me is incorrect because she is so so so much better. I only hoped she highlighted that in the video more. She failed to highlight the other advantages I mentioned. Do you support everything that she says? Or a blind worshipper of a UA-camr? They are gamers, same with all of us but with a large following. That doesn't make them immune to mistakes or to suggestions. I'm merely saying she failed to mention Yelan's other advantages. I don't get why you're disputing that? Nowhere in the video are you supposed to get the message that there is 0 difference between their value. If that's the message you got, seems like your comprehension and listening issues. 2. What advantages/suggestions are you referring to that make her "so so so much better"? - That she can hold FavBow to battery the team? That was in the video. (And you're just plain wrong that Xingqiu doesn't use a Fav Sword build, there's a lot of people that do that, and so he also helps battery your team. Not exactly super unique to Yelan.) - That she can be a "Main DPS"? How many times do we have to repeat that their individual damages at C6 vs C0 and EQUAL investment are very, very close. That's already general TC-consensus with data and calcs for evidence. Which was also mentioned in the video. From a damage standpoint, I have seen the calcs for myself, and I've also personally tested building them both with similar artifacts and weapon investments. - That "Her normal attacks are so quick which makes her Burst damage and Hydro application quicker too"? Xingqiu at all cons indisputably does better Hydro application than C0 Yelan (unless you get her C2, which was also mentioned). And you use Yelan's normal attacks to drive her own Burst? Feel free to do so, but that's definitely not a general playstyle recommendation. Someone else will be driving her. You don't need her to be on-field to do great damage. I hope you don't go around preaching that as if it's the best/optimal way to play her. - That she can work with Raiden Shogun to increase her damage? You realize Xingqiu also works very well with Raiden, right? I don't mind corrections and like learning from them, but your supposed "advantages" are just cap and cope. it seems you're biased and want to scrape some way to justify how Yelan is "so so so much better" and can take your team damage to "way higher levels" (which is an extreme exaggeration) because you clearly like Yelan and haven't fairly compared them. I like her too and she is VERY good, but I'd also rather take an objective look at what she really does rather hyperbolize. This also looks like you still haven't fully appreciated just how busted Xingqiu is nor have you tried investing in him as much as you did for Yelan, thus giving you this skewed perception that Yelan, probably because she is a mommy or a 5-star, has to be "so so so much better" than Xingqiu from a meta standpoint. i skipped yelan on her release despite wanting her to keep my gurantee for kazuha which i dont regret at all but i hope i can get her now since i still really really like her and she'll work very nicely with my yoimiya
I don't regret pulling for Yelan back then, but I personally don't feel the need to pull any higher. Her E is great for travel, she complements my Xingqiu in dual hydro teams amazingly (not to mention the matching hairchut aesthetic, mmm yess), and daily duties are just easier when you have her there. If you build her right, her E basically erases world enemies. She is a convenience machine! ...And also very pretty to look at. EDIT: Just to emphasize, Yelan+Xingqiu comps are incredibly powerful. You can slap almost any other character of a different element on there and you'll have EM reactions going like no tomorrow, PLUS Xingqiu's healing and damage reduction. It's *very* fun.
If ever the thunder manifestation makes another abyss appearance and you are having a rough time, Yelan is the answer! trust me, she's the reason who helped me overcome the fear of fighting that boss, I didn't have a Yoimiya or any other long ranged dps back then... But when I got her, ohhh she is like a running rifle + whenever the boss teleports, just sprint with yelan's skill and voila! I use her to basically any team now, and my all time favorite team comp is consist with her alongside wanderer, xinqiu and zhongli and omg, they act like a machine gun!! I use them to fight the golden wolflord and that boss barely didnt had a chance to go to its shield phase because of how fast the team attacks!! So if u find flying enemies annoying, and you don't have a long ranged dps, Yelan will be a very good option + she's very easy to build and also her exploration capabilities is just the cherry on top!
Yelan is a MUST PULL because she is exactly like Xingqiu but better, literally the same thing eith Kazuha and Sucrose, Xingqiu and Sucrose are competitive only if they C6, plus when you pull on Yelan's banner you can get Xingqiu cons, no brainer.
I would say Yelan is a must pull unit. She upgrades your abyss team and make overworld exploration so much easier at same time. She's so easy to build. Going for her cons in the upcoming banner. Dont forget Yelan can carry your team!
Pulled for itto when she released but I'm 100% getting her now. I'm on 50/50 and 0 pity but i have more than enough to guarantee her and have left overs for Eula. Plus I have c6 ningguang and Xingqiu. Hoping I can c6 my c3 beidou finally but I will get some nice free fates back from those other 2 which is nice. I would pull on weapon banner since this is the most worth it one but I want to save everything I have for Eula
Yelan's versatility can't be underestimated, especially with her access to such a wide variety of bows. I love Yelan-at-Home (Candace) but she feels so much more difficult to build than Yelan despite basically wanting the same artifacts and substats. Having only 2 or 3 BiS polearms compared to like 6 or 7 viable bows feels super bad T_T At least Black Tassel looks super nice on Candace though, lol. I just wish there were far more HP polearm options besides the expensive Homa and the slime-killer stat stick Black Tassel, for the sake of all Polearm characters. :(
I have C4R5 Yelan and will, hopefully, C6 her this banner. She is so pretty and a really fun and strong unit to play. To all those pulling for her and/or her weapon, may your pulls be blessed!
Of course, Best Girl is still worth pulling for, better value than Hu Tao if you ask me. I will be completing my C6 Yelan by finally getting her the four more copies of Aqua Simulacra that she deserves.
I pulled her at very early pity on her first Banner. So I got very lucky. Because of this I was able to use my primo gems to get her weapon. I have kept her at constellation zero but I plan on getting her to c2. But I also want to get a hu Tao to c1 Since I don’t have her at all thanks to Mihoyo holding out on her rerun for so damn long.
I'm a C6R1 Yelan player and I often play C0R0 Yelan on my friend's account. Here are some of my thoughts about her. - C0 Yelan with fav bow is actually a good balance point in terms of self-energy-recharge. Using Aqua S. without Yelan C1 results in insufficient ER very often, and I have to use her with XQ at the same time. (If not, you may need 220 -240ER to self-recharge, hurting her damaging potential) - C1 is perfect for world exploration. Combining her double e and someone like Wanderer ends up with infinite high-speed moving without consuming stamina. - C2 improves her hydro applications, making her a stable vaporize solo enabler in the hu tao team. However, in most cases, Hu tao double hydro is considered to be her best team. And according to my experience, the situation requiring "2 XQ" is not that many. (Like Hutao DH/Rational at the same time in Spiral Abyss. However, if you have to use XQ in Dendro teams and you don't have like Kokomi, you should get a Yelan as a backup) - Yelan is actually inferior to XQ in dendro team, especially since the self-recharge-capability is not that great. Let alone less hydro application and survivability buffs. - C6 is broken, and too broken for me. I am not a skilled player, but I used her soloing 2.8 Spiral Abyss second half with few resets. An average-built C6 Yelan is actually making the game too easy so far. - I recommend: C0 - C1 - Aqua S. - C2-...
Just got Yelan and she's great! Effective in combat, fun to play and great for covering ground quickly when exploring. I have a Sac bow on her which mimics her C1. Thanks Sevy.
Quick tip: below 200ER Yelan at c0 has 50% uptime, so either prepare for casting her Q every other rotation or be ready to swipe the card for c1. ( another alternative is to have 2 fav weapons in the team resulting in an overall DMG loss). One of my worse regrets, benched as soon as i maxed the friendhip.

That's why i said that at c0 is not a great choice, too many hoops to jump through to make her work impacting the team DMG output. PS: the build you suggested is exactly the 200ER i was talking about though, below which Yelan does not quite work, at c0. Above c0 is a different story, hence is not exactly "ftp friendly".
200ER with a ER bow and 4pc EOSF is easily manageable. I've used both Elegy and Favonius(213ER) and she does wonders. You have sacrificial bow too. Like literally so many different options to choose. Even w/o Favonius u can still achieve 150-170ER(for a main DPS Yelan build like Yelan national team, stringless,Mounn's bow or Aqua) unless u have extreme bad luck that u don't have a single artifact with ER substat. Also, in most cases it would be double hydro team which makes it even easier to get energy One of the best duo being XQ+ Yelan and mostly used(especially in vap teams)

@@Dale553 You have illustrated the sheer amount of obstacles one has to go through just to charge the burst ONCE. Which is the point i was making . A unit that requires that amount of work to barely function at c0 is commonly defined as "mid", in my book, because is not self sufficient and the overall support capability is severely crippled ( a hydro support that requires anothe hydro support is just counter productive) . Let's simplify: if Yelan was not dancing around in battle lingerie ya'll be screaming about the amount of issues she has at c0. I want characters that work out of the box and spend time hitting the enemy, not swinginging their bits trying to get the elemental skills and ult up.
Currently have 4 artifacts on her that boost her HP, it's at over 40k and she's only at level 80. Can't wait to get you weapon, maybe I'll get it twice.
cool tip about the traversing part if you have c1 yelan and a sayu you can use their movement abilities and each others will come off cool down by the time you finish each others ability. OFC dont pull for c1 just to move around the map but it also helps with energy

I still find it funny that instead of replacing Xingqiu or being replaced by Xingqiu, the community instead decided to use them together and it's actually broken. Their synergy with one another reminds me of Xiangling + Bennett and Beidou + Fischl.

And double hydro may not beneficial for everyone but for yelan hp 25% is very good. They both do tonne dmg while main dps can actually do rxns. So yea that's y it's pretty broken to use them both together

Yelan is a pull that I mostly made on a whim after the eternal Ayaka banner, but she has proven to be so useful and convenient. Easy to build without too much investment for good payoff. I don’t regret getting her at all! I’m considering getting her c1 this time around.

Yelan C1 is up there as one of the best, if not the best, traversal skills in the game. It’s on par with Kazuha’s E, except Kazuha gives you height and Yelan gives you speed. With C1 + Sayu, you could use both Yelan Es and then switch to Sayu E and basically you’ll never walk again. It’s infinite running.

i just don't get why people want her right now... this is quite literally the worst time in the game to get a hydro 5 star support, as hydro archon is coming in a few patches, not to mention xq is better than her.. (free, higher hydro app, fills the role of a defence option allowing for more aggressive team building)
Her E skill is already 70% of a reason for me to pull. I spent so much time jogging across the new desert area + puzzles that want bow, having Yelan sounds heavenly. I know there's Sayu, but I've tried Yelan out during events and her E feel smoother in comparison.
Yelan also let's you recover stamina while using it, Sayu doesn't.

If you have the primos, Yelan’s C1 gives her a extra skill usage.
This comes in handy in open world exploration, as well as her energy recharge needs.
Forgot to mention that her Breakthrough Barbs are very OP in overworld in the "explode the barrels" challenges. You don't need to aim the barrel itself but you can aim of terrain nearby (similar to Ganyu)

by virtue of being a hydro unit, Yelan is already SO incredibly valuable!! she can slot into virtually any team comp, doesn’t require much in terms of investment to get her started, and is very f2p friendly to boot! i’d say the only downside to Yelan is having to farm those dumb little seashells but even then you can just co-op those to get her leveled quicker lol
She’s damn good at farming her own seashells too. Since they tend to be spread apart on the coasts, just hold E and making a B line is generally enough before you head to the next shore.
Though I'm now in AR 55+ late game, I'm still a relatively "new" player.
When I started playing (3.0/Cyno banner) and was learning about the game, I kept running into tons of hype around "must have" DPS chars, especially Raiden and Hu Tao. I couldn't wait to get my chance to add them to my roster.
Now that I have a much better understanding of the game, my account needs, and my preferred playstyle, next week will make the second time in 3 banners I skip the "must have" that I used to dream of getting to pull the hydro unit instead lol

I pulled for Yelan during her initial release as a "2nd Xingqiu" but honestly, she ended up being more than that. Amazing for exploration, very easy to build plus amazing performance relative to time invested, not to mention that she ended up being part of Hu Tao's best team. She even feels better to use compared to Xingqiu for those situations where you don't need so much hydro application like in national or dendro teams because of her faster field time and mobility due to the speed of her skill compared to Xingqiu (even more so if Xingqiu has Sac Sword).
Yelan may not be the flashy dps character you flex to others but honestly, she's probably the most worth it character that I pulled for and that's comparing her to characters like Raiden, Hu Tao and Zhongli.
With the new dendro reactions, it’s great to have two hydro appliers on separate teams

What Hoyo got right about Yelan was making her useful in every kind of content. Her DPS is at its peak during her burst (abyss), her speed is at its peak during her skill (overworld), and she's a female (incognito mode).
Im planning to aim for C0 Yelan and C6 Xingqiu. The rest for Simulacra since I can use Yelan's bow for Ganyu, I can also R5 Yoimiya's Rust and if I get Homa spooks, I'll just give it to Zhongli. Everything all leads towards strengthening Yoimiya's Team.

Wow I’m doing the same thing for my hu tao, lol. I pulled yelan last year solely for hu tao and now I’m going for Homa and Simulacra. Gl to you
yohimiha c0 + yelan c0 + xinqiu c6 + zhonlgi c0 is my main and favourite team and it works so amazing. Sometimes I switch yohimiya with ayaka or raiden shogun which is also a great combination. but espeically the first combination mantioned have so much synergy and works amazing together. And with good timing on the rotation, all skills (yelan and xinyui off flied skill + zhongli shield + yohimiya fire attacks) have almost the same duration. and if everything is over, you can literally go for the next rotation cause mostly all have their burst ready again.
- yohimiya shoots from far away so you don't have to walk much in fights, which save a lot of time and increase the damage per second even more.
- If you fight a tanky enemy, you can run near it and provide from the 20% shield shred from zhongli + 15% hydro shred from xinqui.
- 2 water means hydro resonance which increase hp of all of them, which is good for yelan dmg and zhongli shield. And also 3 different elemental in team give yelan a good additional hp boost out of her passive. (my yelan has 40k hp in this combination)
- zhongli shield + xinqiu dmg reduction literally makes you invincible against most content in the game cause both stack multiplicatively which is insane. And also amazing for yohimiya cause she has low base hp compared to other characters and her damage per second doesn't work if she gets interrupted much. both are no more problem with the heavy shield.
- xingqiu is an amazing battery also for yelan to give her 100% uptime on her burst for every rotation. (once yelan is c1, this is never a problem anymore)
- this team setup works amazing in overworld, if you have to fight not so strong enemies but alot of them because you don't need to run that much in fight. and ofc obviously her charge is amazing for exploration, especially with c1.
All these synergies make this team my absolute favourite in the game :) And I will go for yelan c1 in the next banner to improve my favourite team even mroe and make exploration much easier :)
Yelan carried me through ar 20-57 and I Strongly reccommend pulling for her. she doesnt need bennett which is a w since you can use bennett at the other half

Yelan is one of the characters that I don't regret having. The selling point for me was her being called a 5-star Xingqiu, and I needed that since I use Xingqiu a lot. Plus her mommy energy is too powerful to resist.

TIP: With C1 or sac bow, you can quickly use the press version of her E twice before your burst and still catch all the particles, so you can save time on rotations and not have to swap off the main dps to get more energy for Yelan. Although it may take some practice!
I stumbled into pulling her by luck when I came back from a year away from Genshin without knowing what she would do, and she’s one of my fav and best character pulls ever.
She’s been fun to use in over world for exploration and farming anything I need as well as a great benefit to my spiral abyss runs. I would always recommend her. 💙💙
C1 increases exploration speed. Also, having C1 and Sac bow is massive.

@@joeltoomer3332 her damage scale directly off her HP, if one manages to get her burst up ( 20-25 sec rotation), on pure HP build ( around 40k+) the damage is quite substantial. But thanks to that ER crippling issues, a pure HP build means having a slot occupied with a liability unit.
@@RejectedInch I have the recurve bow on her so she has above 50 k, 56 if its all different element characters from her passive, she also has the emblem 2 piece + substats and her ER is around 140 and its ussualy enough to get her burst up, if I need more ER I ussualy switch to fading twilight for around 170 ER, she does solid damage, when its a crit her E skill can even do about 53 k

for me, Yelan was definitely the one of the best 5* to come from 2022. I didn't think I'd like her as much as I do. Can't wait to get her C1.

@@JacquesLuu no bc the bow can fail for one, and it prevents her from using another bow (fav, elegy, slingshot, aqua etc). Also it doesn't work without enemies, so you can't travel with double e in overworld.

When Yelan was released, i had stocked enough primos to get my C0 Kazuha to C2... But i was sold by that E ghost skill linking ennemies together, to the point Yelan took all my savings to get her C1 + Aqua. Absolutely no regret! She has been my most fun and most used unit since then. Can't wait to get her to C3 or C4 next week (i saved for her rerun since end of Nahida's banner) then saving again to C6 her next year.
When Yelan was announced, I knew I would get her because she looked fun. After playing her test trial, she was even more fun than I expected and I pulled right away. Because I loved her gameplay, damage, and traversal right off the bat, she became the first and only character I've immediately gotten the first constellation and signature weapon of. She's great, she's fun, and she's now an overworld staple!
Yelan was one of my most anticipated characters because I needed another Hydro Sub DPS and tbh she exceeded my expectations. She’s so versatile and can fit into any team but in Double Hydro is where she shine. You should definitely pull for her if you can because I will definitely get her C1.
Yelan is my absolute favorite character gameplay-wise. She is the closest thing to a must pull in this game if you have a Pyro DPS but also want to run the classic Raiden national.
I have C2 Yelan and she almost never leaves my team.
- Her C1 is my favorite constellation I’ve ever gotten for any character. It makes zipping around the overworld a breeze. Not to mention, it helps with energy generation!
- Her C2 adds more hydro application and damage.

Pulled the Simulacra trying to get the jade spear for Xiao, so I decided to throw my last wishes on Yelan’s banner on a whim… Turns out she’s one of the best characters you could hope for, versatile, useful for exploration, ridiculous damage and incredibly fun to play overall
Getting C1 Yelan was the best decision I’ve ever made for my account. She has made my travels through Teyvat a lot quicker and easier.
as a yelan haver, she basically became my new dps after a very long time with hu tao lol though hu tao is currently so strong that i basically use her as my immediate go to if i want an easier time in bosses or enemies, but yelan is just more convenient. yelan is great both in combat and exploration (which where hu tao is not so good at), and rather than swapping teams for exploration and fight, i can just have one character for both. not to mention, a bow user, one of my fave weapons to use since i used to main amber, and that prior to getting her, i believe i was at a time where i almost lack bow characters. another thing why she's great addition is because she's one of the three hydro characters i had, with most hydro units being 5 stars, which gave me a bit more selection of hydro units.
also, currently the only character i have where i also managed to pull their weapon. i i immediately built her after that, it's too good of a pull to just let them be not used lol
was so happy they extended that ayaka banner for so long (obviously not happy about why they had to), because I was able to save enough wishes as f2p to get yelan c1 & her bow on her first banner. i never had a main before her, but now i just feel uncomfortable if she's ever not in my party. so strong for hard content like abyss and so fun for overworld exploration. using her w/ sayu is like having a mount lol.
I was so lucky with Yelan when she first came out. I was just trying to pull and literally got her after around 30 wishes.
She has become a must in my team ever since, in terms of utility and how cool her character is. Easy to play and build.

I already had a Yelan and shes my favorite unit (after Raiden) and is pretty much in every team.
Especially Vape comps are awesome because her elemental skill does a massive amount of damage when it triggers vape wich can be very satisfying when finishing enemies off.
I'm a 100% going for a second copy in the upcoming rerun just to do that more and so I can sonic run across Teyvat more.
Yelan was my third ever limited 5 stars character and I honestly have never regretted the resources put into her. She's so versatile and strong, works with so many different units, has accessible builds and Is great for exploration. Truly a wonderful unit
One thing important about Yelan, is she enables double hydro mono Liyue for Hu Tao, who can then make full use of Lithic Spear, which at R5 and full Liyue gives a lotttttt of stats for a 4* weapon
Yelan is SO GOOD even if you don't care about meta. She makes exploration a breeze and so much fun, especially when paired with sayu and wanderer.
I usually use Kokomi as my hydro but I’ll definitely be pulling for Yelan. I may pull for her weapon too if I don’t lose 50/50.

I got her and ngl doing her quest as a Lantern Rite prerequisite (yes, I know I can quick start but I wanted to do it anyways) was a huge motivator...HYV knows how to time their marketing well.
HP based was what sealed the deal for me. Obtaining her artifacts was immensely so much easier, faster.
Yelan is one of the only characters I can't wait to c6. Every single con does something good.
Aw, you didn’t even mention how well she performs on field as the on field damage dealer. Her damage isn’t a lil more than Xingqiu, if built for on field, it can be A LOT. I have c1r1 Yelan, triple crowned, 44k hp and 75/250 ratio (140ER). It’s crazy how much damage she can do with team buffs and her own buff, at her buffs peak her burst ticks at 23k, her skill hits around 120k, and barbs hit around 60k, without any vaporize.
It’s a lot of fun, I highly suggest. I plan on going for c6 (overtime, through saving). I have 200 wishes for her rerun, hoping for c3 (we’ll see though).

@@MeepMop21 I pulled for hutao and homa on her first rerun in 2.2 (or 2.3?), and pulled for yelan last year. I do use her with Xingqui and Yelan, it boosts her HP and also add either kazuha or zhongli (depending on the abyss situation). Currently im going for a guarenteed C1 hutao. Tbh, C1 hutao is much better than hutao+homa if you have dragon's bane, it just cancels all charge attacks stamina consumption giving you a high quality of life upgrade for her gameplay. Although I have homa, I did not see any issues using her without C1, she's still good with just C0. So my recommendation (but this is all luck anyways, so please spend responsibly), get her, get yelan then look for their constellations then look for her weapon (homa) in this order, that way at least you get 2 good characters and you might pull for the weapons later as the weapon banner is a scam anyways.
Also if you happen to get yelan, you really do not need her weapon at all, because it just hightens her personal damage at the expense of overall team damage and ease of use, imo the best yelan weapon in a team where she's a support is Fav bow, then sac bow, then any crit rate/dmg weapon, because she needs a LOT of ER. Although Xingqui helps lower her ER requirements, it does not mean that you can just slap a crit weapon on her, fav also helps your team's energy extremely well, and since yelan scales with crit rate, she can help your team tremendously!
So my final say is: Yelan then Hutao Then C1 hutao then the weapon banner in this order. Yelan is extremely flexible with teams so her priority is higher than hutao who has a limited set of "good" teams, even if hutao has a lot of damage output (I prefer flexibility over selfish damage dealer like hutao when choosing characters). But remember that they will have reruns again, so you don't need to spend everything or spend too quickly on this banner, you can always get what you want later on, please be responsible with your spending 👍. And best of luck.
Run her with Xq together and both give hutao MAX damage. Double hydro Hutao one of the best comps in the game

I mean if you have it, good for you but for most, fav bow is still the best weapon for her because it's accessible and easy to obtain compared to elegy. When she was first leaked I was ready to get her just based on her looks. Later she got called a 5* xingqiu but people soon realised her value as an individual unit and how strong double hydro was. So honestly there is no reason not to pull for her except if you for some reason don’t like her or is saving for someone.

If you have even the slightest interest in yelan I highly highly highly recommend getting her. She is one of the characters that “unlocks” your account and goes a long way to helping you clear content and built great teams.
Yelan C1 and Aqua Simulacra enjoyer here. One of my best units I have so far. For me, she is at the same level as Kazuha in terms of exploration and gameplay. She is literally always in my team and I can't get bored of her. Her dmg is also nuts.
I would pull for C2 but as Hoyoverse don't want to give as endgame, I don't see any reasons to do so. Can easily recommend her to anyone (even at c0 with fav / sac bow she is really good)

Yelan is the only MUST pull unit in this game. The main reason for this is her ARMPIT! LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL THING!

I hate to pull off the Abyss card but you CAN have 2 Xingqiu with Yelan. Plus she's so strong and much more fun.

yelan is a must pull, dont even think about it if you want easy abyss runs
Yelan being a slower hydro applicator doesn't even matter much. Her attacks do a lot more damage than Xingqiu's. Whether you're vaporizing/buffing hydro or pyro, it doesn't really matter. Missing a vape on a 30k Hu Tao charged attack doesn't really matter when you can vape some 15k attacks or a 40k group skill attack. Her constellations are also all really good which easily pulls her ahead of any hydro character in the game.
She's a significant improvement over Xingqiu. Literally just need to stack hp, er hydro dmg, and crit stats. She's one of the few characters that cares a lot about hp so your best hp pieces can easily be given to her. Reaching a decent investment level for her is pretty easy. Her best set is also, undisputably, EoSF so she can just be farmed along with other characters.
Her weapon is great because it gives her a lot of crit dmg. It's also a really strong bow for pretty much any bow character. The upcoming weapon banner also features Staff of Homa which is one of the best, if not the best, polearms for many characters. This eliminates a lot of the risk as both rate-up weapons are very good and versatile. You might not be so lucky in future weapon banners while her constellations can be obtained on any of her reruns.

I've had C2R1 Yelan since her first release banner. She's in the top 3 of my favorite characters alongside Raiden (also C2R1) and Yoimiya (C0R1). Personally, I think C2 and R1 Aqua were absolutely worth it, but they were also pretty expensive and I would not actively suggest anyone else pull them. If you want to, I wouldn't talk you out of it, but it's expensive enough that I don't want to push for it.

I have her c1 r1 and id put her in my top 4. I like Eula, Zhongli and Kuki just a tad more but ill be trying for more cons for yelan since I have over 200 pulls and if I get to at least c4 ill prob spend until c6. I dont have Yoimiya but I absolutely see myself really liking her if I ever decide to get her. Raiden I own but im one of the few ppl who don't really enjoy her.
Everyone said Yelan was a 5* Xingqui, but that's not a bad thing. I use her so much more often than Xingqui too because of her skill's exploration factor
the same can be said on Kazuha being a 5* Sucrose. I think whenever a broken 4 star character gets a 5 star counterpart that automatically should be a worthy pull
I usually like your guides in all characters and my go-to guide for new characters, but it seems like on this video you downplayed Yelan so much. I have a fully built C6 Xingqui but when I switched him with Yelan, the damage of my team just went to a way higher level. And is very F2P friendly. I think you also failed to mention that Yelan can work as a Main DPS aside from being a Sub DPS ala Raiden Shogun. Her normal attacks are so quick which makes her Burst damage and Hydro application quicker too. She also helps your team's overall energy recharge needs when using Favonius Warbow, with her attacks having so many hits she can be a good battery for your team unlike Xingqui. She carried my electro charge team as a Main DPS in Spiral Abyss.
Can you explain exactly what part here "downplayed" her? Does sevy have to say "pull her at all costs" for it to be enough for you?
Reason why the DMG of your team went to a "way higher level" can be because 1: the team doesn't need the faster Hydro app of XQ anyway and 2. Your XQ simply did not have the same level of investment as Yelan. Which was already stated.
I'm not sure what you mean that she can be a "Main DPS" vs being Sub DPS? If you're saying she's supposed to be on-field, then why do that when someone else can be the better on-field unit who can do quick NAs too and apply another element possibly. You could let her get her own DMG bonus, but there are much better ways to maximize that while she's still off-field. If you paired her with Raiden shogun, why not let Raiden drive?
A lot of other units can help with Fav weapons (even XQ). Fav also doesn't trigger off-field jsyk and it has a refresh rate. If you mean she's staying on-field just to proc Fav, that sounds worse than letting a better on-field unit drive her and just quickswapping her in to trigger Fav when it's ready. But hey, if she carries your team, then cool, that IS her job.
In her video especially in the early parts she keeps repeating Yelan just does the same things as Xingqui, although more on the offense side. So I explained in my comment the other advantages of Yelan as compared to Xingqui which as I said she didn't mention.
Like I said I have a fully built C6 Xingqui and pulled for just a C0 Yelan during her first banner with only a Favonius Warbow as her weapon and she's already an upgrade to Xingqui. Don't get me wrong I really like Xingqui, he carried me from early AR20s to AR55s but the improvements of the switch to Yelan was very evident for me and my Vaporize team.

Then, you literally agree that she is a dmg upgrade for you, therefore she is more offensive. Sevy stated she has more offense, which is also true. I still don't see what's been "downplayed"? These are only facts. Even the fact that some people cannot seem to wrap their head around that C6 Xingqiu vs C0 Yelan at similar investments in separate teams results in very close personal DMG output.

There are also a lot of parts discussed where Yelan excels at. Do you want every second of every Yelan video just blindly praising how she is broken, irreplaceable, and completely unique? I don't get it.
Because it sends a message that Yelan provides the same value with Xingqui which for me is incorrect because she is so so so much better. I only hoped she highlighted that in the video more. She failed to highlight the other advantages I mentioned. Do you support everything that she says? Or a blind worshipper of a UA-camr? They are gamers, same with all of us but with a large following. That doesn't make them immune to mistakes or to suggestions. I'm merely saying she failed to mention Yelan's other advantages. I don't get why you're disputing that? I'm simply stating those facts that she missed out.

1. Similar =/= exactly same. They are obviously similar, with some distinguishing utilities. Nowhere in the video are you supposed to get the message that there is 0 difference between their value. If that's the message you got, seems like your comprehension and listening issues.
2. What advantages/suggestions are you referring to that make her "so so so much better"?
- That she can hold FavBow to battery the team? That was in the video. (And you're just plain wrong that Xingqiu doesn't use a Fav Sword build, there's a lot of people that do that, and so he also helps battery your team. Not exactly super unique to Yelan.)
- That she can be a "Main DPS"? How many times do we have to repeat that their individual damages at C6 vs C0 and EQUAL investment are very, very close. That's already general TC-consensus with data and calcs for evidence. Which was also mentioned in the video. From a damage standpoint, I have seen the calcs for myself, and I've also personally tested building them both with similar artifacts and weapon investments.
- That "Her normal attacks are so quick which makes her Burst damage and Hydro application quicker too"? Xingqiu at all cons indisputably does better Hydro application than C0 Yelan (unless you get her C2, which was also mentioned). And you use Yelan's normal attacks to drive her own Burst? Feel free to do so, but that's definitely not a general playstyle recommendation. Someone else will be driving her. You don't need her to be on-field to do great damage. I hope you don't go around preaching that as if it's the best/optimal way to play her.
- That she can work with Raiden Shogun to increase her damage? You realize Xingqiu also works very well with Raiden, right?
I don't mind corrections and like learning from them, but your supposed "advantages" are just cap and cope. it seems you're biased and want to scrape some way to justify how Yelan is "so so so much better" and can take your team damage to "way higher levels" (which is an extreme exaggeration) because you clearly like Yelan and haven't fairly compared them. I like her too and she is VERY good, but I'd also rather take an objective look at what she really does rather hyperbolize. This also looks like you still haven't fully appreciated just how busted Xingqiu is nor have you tried investing in him as much as you did for Yelan, thus giving you this skewed perception that Yelan, probably because she is a mommy or a 5-star, has to be "so so so much better" than Xingqiu from a meta standpoint. If you'd rather paint me as a blind worshipper for trying to correct you, rather than realize your own bias and misconceptions, then okay.

i skipped yelan on her release despite wanting her to keep my gurantee for kazuha which i dont regret at all but i hope i can get her now since i still really really like her and she'll work very nicely with my yoimiya
I don't regret pulling for Yelan back then, but I personally don't feel the need to pull any higher. Her E is great for travel, she complements my Xingqiu in dual hydro teams amazingly (not to mention the matching hairchut aesthetic, mmm yess), and daily duties are just easier when you have her there. If you build her right, her E basically erases world enemies. She is a convenience machine!
...And also very pretty to look at.
EDIT: Just to emphasize, Yelan+Xingqiu comps are incredibly powerful. You can slap almost any other character of a different element on there and you'll have EM reactions going like no tomorrow, PLUS Xingqiu's healing and damage reduction. It's *very* fun.
If ever the thunder manifestation makes another abyss appearance and you are having a rough time, Yelan is the answer! trust me, she's the reason who helped me overcome the fear of fighting that boss, I didn't have a Yoimiya or any other long ranged dps back then... But when I got her, ohhh she is like a running rifle + whenever the boss teleports, just sprint with yelan's skill and voila!
I use her to basically any team now, and my all time favorite team comp is consist with her alongside wanderer, xinqiu and zhongli and omg, they act like a machine gun!! I use them to fight the golden wolflord and that boss barely didnt had a chance to go to its shield phase because of how fast the team attacks!!
So if u find flying enemies annoying, and you don't have a long ranged dps, Yelan will be a very good option + she's very easy to build and also her exploration capabilities is just the cherry on top!
Yelan is a MUST PULL because she is exactly like Xingqiu but better, literally the same thing eith Kazuha and Sucrose, Xingqiu and Sucrose are competitive only if they C6, plus when you pull on Yelan's banner you can get Xingqiu cons, no brainer.
I would say Yelan is a must pull unit. She upgrades your abyss team and make overworld exploration so much easier at same time. She's so easy to build. Going for her cons in the upcoming banner. Dont forget Yelan can carry your team!

Pulled for itto when she released but I'm 100% getting her now. I'm on 50/50 and 0 pity but i have more than enough to guarantee her and have left overs for Eula. Plus I have c6 ningguang and Xingqiu. Hoping I can c6 my c3 beidou finally but I will get some nice free fates back from those other 2 which is nice. I would pull on weapon banner since this is the most worth it one but I want to save everything I have for Eula
Yelan's versatility can't be underestimated, especially with her access to such a wide variety of bows. I love Yelan-at-Home (Candace) but she feels so much more difficult to build than Yelan despite basically wanting the same artifacts and substats. Having only 2 or 3 BiS polearms compared to like 6 or 7 viable bows feels super bad T_T At least Black Tassel looks super nice on Candace though, lol. I just wish there were far more HP polearm options besides the expensive Homa and the slime-killer stat stick Black Tassel, for the sake of all Polearm characters. :(
I have C4R5 Yelan and will, hopefully, C6 her this banner. She is so pretty and a really fun and strong unit to play. To all those pulling for her and/or her weapon, may your pulls be blessed!
Why did you get r5 before c6? no judgement, just curious since her cons give you more dps output than refinement on aqua.
Of course, Best Girl is still worth pulling for, better value than Hu Tao if you ask me. I will be completing my C6 Yelan by finally getting her the four more copies of Aqua Simulacra that she deserves.

I pulled her at very early pity on her first Banner. So I got very lucky. Because of this I was able to use my primo gems to get her weapon. I have kept her at constellation zero but I plan on getting her to c2. But I also want to get a hu Tao to c1 Since I don’t have her at all thanks to Mihoyo holding out on her rerun for so damn long.
As a Yelan haver ever since her first banner, just going zoomies with her in battle and overworld made it worth it.

From what we’ve seen in the upcoming banners Xingqui will be on the banner as well. So we’ll hopefully all have two great hydro characters.
I'm a C6R1 Yelan player and I often play C0R0 Yelan on my friend's account. Here are some of my thoughts about her.
- C0 Yelan with fav bow is actually a good balance point in terms of self-energy-recharge. Using Aqua S. without Yelan C1 results in insufficient ER very often, and I have to use her with XQ at the same time. (If not, you may need 220 -240ER to self-recharge, hurting her damaging potential)
- C1 is perfect for world exploration. Combining her double e and someone like Wanderer ends up with infinite high-speed moving without consuming stamina.
- C2 improves her hydro applications, making her a stable vaporize solo enabler in the hu tao team. However, in most cases, Hu tao double hydro is considered to be her best team. And according to my experience, the situation requiring "2 XQ" is not that many. (Like Hutao DH/Rational at the same time in Spiral Abyss. However, if you have to use XQ in Dendro teams and you don't have like Kokomi, you should get a Yelan as a backup)
- Yelan is actually inferior to XQ in dendro team, especially since the self-recharge-capability is not that great. Let alone less hydro application and survivability buffs.
- C6 is broken, and too broken for me. I am not a skilled player, but I used her soloing 2.8 Spiral Abyss second half with few resets. An average-built C6 Yelan is actually making the game too easy so far.
- I recommend: C0 - C1 - Aqua S. - C2-...
When her teaser went up for the first time, I knew I needed to get her, she didn't disappoint, came in the 20th Guaranteed. Always a fun to use.
Just got Yelan and she's great! Effective in combat, fun to play and great for covering ground quickly when exploring. I have a Sac bow on her which mimics her C1. Thanks Sevy.
Yelan still has so much firepower it is impossible to look over. Definitely a worthy one of your consideration!

Quick tip: below 200ER Yelan at c0 has 50% uptime, so either prepare for casting her Q every other rotation or be ready to swipe the card for c1. ( another alternative is to have 2 fav weapons in the team resulting in an overall DMG loss). One of my worse regrets, benched as soon as i maxed the friendhip.

That's why i said that at c0 is not a great choice, too many hoops to jump through to make her work impacting the team DMG output. PS: the build you suggested is exactly the 200ER i was talking about though, below which Yelan does not quite work, at c0. Above c0 is a different story, hence is not exactly "ftp friendly".
200ER with a ER bow and 4pc EOSF is easily manageable. I've used both Elegy and Favonius(213ER) and she does wonders. You have sacrificial bow too. Like literally so many different options to choose. Even w/o Favonius u can still achieve 150-170ER(for a main DPS Yelan build like Yelan national team, stringless,Mounn's bow or Aqua) unless u have extreme bad luck that u don't have a single artifact with ER substat.
Also, in most cases it would be double hydro team which makes it even easier to get energy

@@Dale553 You have illustrated the sheer amount of obstacles one has to go through just to charge the burst ONCE. Which is the point i was making . A unit that requires that amount of work to barely function at c0 is commonly defined as "mid", in my book, because is not self sufficient and the overall support capability is severely crippled ( a hydro support that requires anothe hydro support is just counter productive) . Let's simplify: if Yelan was not dancing around in battle lingerie ya'll be screaming about the amount of issues she has at c0. I want characters that work out of the box and spend time hitting the enemy, not swinginging their bits trying to get the elemental skills and ult up.
Currently have 4 artifacts on her that boost her HP, it's at over 40k and she's only at level 80. Can't wait to get you weapon, maybe I'll get it twice.

On standard I pulled Jean, then my first pull on the banner was Yelan, the second one was Xingqiu. I'll never have such a good luck again in my life.
cool tip about the traversing part if you have c1 yelan and a sayu you can use their movement abilities and each others will come off cool down by the time you finish each others ability. OFC dont pull for c1 just to move around the map but it also helps with energy
