Star of the Unborn: Not just find a copy, but a pristine copy.

It's in very good condition, I'm almost positive no one read it. I'll be reading it very carefully or trying to find an ebook copy of it.

NESFA Press is so cool! I am always keeping an eye out for them.
    Those are some great hardcovers!
The vintage paperbacks just look so cool.
This Immortal and The Long Tomorrow! Those are cool copies. I have a 1956 SFBC hardcover of The Long Tomorrow. The dust jacket is in rough shape but it is protected by a brodart now and the rest of the book is in great condition. It is one of my favorite finds from the last 6 months.
I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Long Tomorrow.
I had a hardcover copy of Dangerous Visions and I sold it like an idiot🤦‍♂.
I need to read Robert Silverberg. He is one of my blind spots.
I'm jealous that you found a copy of Star of the Unborn.
    What a great haul!

Thanks Joseph, excited for Long Tomorrow, waiting to watch your review till I'm finished. NESFA are so great. I love the copy of This Immortal. Cheers.

I see Stephen R. Donaldson's 'Gap Cycle" books on your shelf - that is my favorite sci-fi series. Fun haul video - I like looking at all the cool covers.

Just read Wizard of Earthsea. Very "high fantasy" but very digestible, and Le Guin's prose is excellent.

@@sfwordsofwonder you can get them, but shipped from the US. I don't think there is a UK stockist.

First time viewer here (I think) and good score for nine dollars! I’ve just started getting into book videos and no one ever seems to talk about their shelves. I am especially impressed by your mass market, paperback sized shelves in the background and would love to know more about them. Whatever you are willing to share, of course.

I love these book hauls. Makes me feel better about my book buying habit. Chandler has some good ones. I think I have read Chalker, but I don't remember it much. I guess that is not a great recommendation, really. The Goblin Reservation! One of my two first books by Simak all those years ago. Not the easiest of his to read, but fascinating, once you get sucked in. Space Viking! another old one I read yonks ago. I remember it as being nowhere near as pulp as it sounds - look forward to hearing what you think.

Theres a great series by Chalker, Wellword (not sure if thats the official title) I recall reading and enjoying Well Of Souls and a couple others, not sure if theres a finale , or it just ends.

    • @sfwordsofwonder
      @sfwordsofwonder  3 місяці тому +1

Thanks, I'll give Space Viking a shot at some point. I'd like to eventually read everything from Simak.

Love the hauls. Newer to vintage Scfi, and been loving your videos. One question though what resources do you use for all the different publishers and author lists and livery’s. You seem very knowledgeable about all of that. Keep up the great videos!

I'm still learning, but I have learned a lot from watching other booktubers as well as the website isfdb.org, it takes a bit to figure out but once you get used to the site it's great.
