I love you guys a lot and I'm so lucky to have a platform to talk about this. It's so important to me and truly hope this helps someone who is struggling like I have. xx Cam
I love this. I’m 17 and a year ago after struggling to like cardio I started weight lifting and I love it! I can totally relate to being so glad to have finally found an exercise that is fun and makes you feel good.
CAMMIE!! This is 100% ME!! Thank you so much for making this video!! I can relate to EVERYTHING you say! I just accidentally got on the workout/health/fitness train by finding a workout class that I LOVE and look forward to. I also gave up wine at night and started making healthier choices left and right. I'm feeling so much better and am passionate about my changes. So happy to hear you're going down the same path too!
Omg the googling pictures of women who are 5’5 and x weight is literally what I would do too. I had NO idea what I looked like because my body dysmorphia got so bad. And then I would compare myself to those pictures and feel even worse. This cycle is so painful but we are strong for powering through it and loving ourselves anyway!
I can relate to this so much.. it's nice to know that you've gone through the same thing with body image and have been able to turn it around and have a healthy mentality. Thanks for talking about this,, love you
love this message Cam. there is legitimate research on “the best cardio” and results consistently show that the best cardio is the one you enjoy the most!!!! also SMASH YOUR SCALES!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this Cammie. Each person has to find out what is best for them. I have an office job, so working out after work is best for me. It's a great stress reliever before I go home. Other folks may be just the opposite and work out first thing to start their day. Find your thing people and stick to it.
Heyy I just want to say thank you!! I’ve been dealing with so much anxiety over the summer to the extent where some days it’s a struggle to leave my house let alone visit my best friend who lives next door or go to the grocery store but you just being on UA-cam has helped so much you’ve definitely made me feel happier on nights when I just don’t want to wake up in the morning cause the idea of having another panic attack sounds to overwhelming, so glad you exists love you forever thank you cammie hopefully one day I’ll meet you (I had to cancel my holiday to LA this summer I was looking forward to it ☹️❤️)
Lily H I’m so sorry you’re dealing with such difficult anxiety. Wishing you all the best and hope you find success in improving your mental health. Stay strong love!
Thank you for sharing! Every person that is struggling to be healthy should see this. I especially like when you said something like “love your body and it will work for you.” I need that on a magnet for my fridge! ☺️
Hey cammie, this video is soo relatable and I’m so glad you included mental health as it is so important. I used to run everyday, but a year ago I stopped because my mental health wasn’t good (still isn’t but a bit better). Instead, I walk every day for 1hr and 40 minutes, and now it’s the only thing that I truly enjoy doing and it makes my mind feel at peace. It has helped me physically and mentally and I’m in a much better place now. I struggled with an eating disorder where I restricted a lot of things and wouldn’t eat much, or very little. I’ve improved so much and also gained some weight, but I tell myself that the weight gain is okay and I shouldn’t hate myself for it. My approach to food is much better now, I eat a good amount of food and also get in some exercise!
When I see content like this, I get so proud of your generation of women! Making videos like this one that focus on loving, accepting, and being kind to one's self is so important. It's true that if you want to make a difference in the world (without burning out) you have to take the time to care for yourself. And as a 49 year old woman, I'm going to make the prediction that you are going to be so BADASS in your 30's and even more so in your 40's! (And, by the way, being a woman in her 40's is awesome!) Thank you for spreading positivity and keep up the good work so long as it's healthy for your life, too!
Thank you soooo much for this video. I'm only 21 and i beat myself up so much because I can't bring myself to do any workouts. Everytime I do I enter this mindset of "how much weight did I lose today?". I'm starting to take care of my physical body eating vegetarian and it's been helping me so much with this. It's even making me want to do exercises again.
You literally explained my situation over the years. I have gone to extremes by eating too little calories and it honesty just made me feel terrible. Not a single diet worked for me and I've been so frustrated every time the number on the scale didn't change so I was like I might as well just binge eat my way out of sadness. This year I was looking for something different. I wanted to change but I didn't know how. Thank you so much for showing me that eating healthy is supposed to be a lifestyle and something you enjoy and not something you have to do until you lose weight.
Dude I’m in the same mindset. I’ve been doing it for almost a year now and my life has also domino-ed into just a super healthy mindset. Love this for you!
If I'm being honest, I clicked on this video to see some tips... and I was disappointed when you said it wasn't going to be like that, but I kept watching because I always enjoy your videos. That being said, this video was so inspirational to me. I always thought I was doing something wrong because I hated working out. I thought people that enjoyed running were bullshitting it to get views or likes or whatever. When people said "work hard" I didn't know how much harder I could work. I was busting ass and not seeing any results. I gave up a while ago, and since then I've been in a pretty deep depression because I hate things about myself that I know I can change but anything I tried never worked. This video inspired me to find something that I love. Maybe I'll even try boxing. Thanks, Cammie! Keep doing what you're doing. :)
It’s great to know that you have found your balance and started enjoying your work outs and eating. THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT HOW IT IS! I can’t stress it enough how many people talk about calories and cardio. People react to different types of exercise and macros than others. There is no set way to lose weight or eat healthy. It’s about enjoying it, and not putting the pressure on yourself to look a certain way, or weigh a certain number. This is one of your best videos to date! And I hope many people watch this and stop punishing themselves. Love you all the way from Australia 🇦🇺💖
Exactly! The way I see it, your bodies are meant to move and take care of us. We shouldn't have to spend endless time and money to be "fit." We should just do what we love and enjoy and the body and health will come along with it! It's just about finding joy in a healthy lifestyle and maintaining balance.
thank U so much for this cammie! lately i've been just feeling like crap especially with this topic and this video helped me feel better thank you im motivated to do better for myself now thank u thank U so much cammie i needed this
This video is coming in at such a fitting time. I made a resolution that I’ll start eating healthier and exercising for the month of October. For the first time in awhile, I hit the gym yesterday and ate much better than I usually do and it feels great! Listening to all that you’ve said in this video spurs me on to continue this and to hopefully make it a routine :) thanks for all the encouragement and for not setting unrealistic expectations, for being so real with your journey. Good luck to everyone starting as well!
I have struggled with working out the whole week... then the weekend comes and partying [alcohol] comes into play and just looses my balance. One has to have a strong mindest to keep on track. Great video cammie! 😊
It's really helped me on the weekends having friends to go workout with. Get's my day started off right and I don't want to drink too much which makes it easier to eat better as well. Also, you need balance so it's okay to have a bit of fun on the weekend!
you’re my fave shit show 😉💞 thank you for this cam, and everything in the past when we’ve talked about this stuff! Things are starting to head back in the right direction for me and this video and your words are the extra lol push i needed! thank you for being so transparent! i love you so much x
Ugh I appreciate this soooo much and I so needed it! I’ve previously had an ED and then got help and then I feel in love with the gym for healthy reasons. I recently started doing shock therapy and slowly started skipping the gym and have fallen out of the routine even though I know how good I will feel after! So guess who’s ass is going to the gym in 30 minutes? Thank you!
I'm recovering from an eating disorder, and kickboxing has been a HUGE help for me. Any time I feel myself slipping back, I remember that I need strength to kickbox, and that its not about how skinny I get, its about feeling strong and empowered! P.S.- 5:14 I used to do the exact same thing. I had no idea anyone else did it
I hope you are proud of yourself because you have every right to be. Sharing so much about the struggles that are personal to you and your mental health, just, I commend you. That is no small feat and your honesty truly helps so many people.
I’ve wanted to go to a boxing class for a year. Because of this video I sucked it up and went at 6am this morning. I’m in love. Planning going everyday now. Officially done running lol
I clicked this video half expecting it to be like other people’s “lose x pounds in 1 month” videos (and a little bit hoping for a quick fix) and I am so thankful I watched this 🙏🏻 every time i try to “be healthy” i put so much pressure onto myself to log my food/calories for an “objective measurement” of whether I’m doing healthy correctly. but it gives me so much anxiety and it never ends up helping! I’m going to aim for the enthusiasm you have with making exercise fun instead of worrying about doing it the least optimal lol
I did the 100k in september and kinda liked it. Got me out of the house and felt good after sitting in front of the computer 9+ hours a day. Not doing it in October because it’s starting to get below 0 degrees Celsius. But trying another challenge instead! The challenge format definitely helps for me!
I wish we’re happy at the end of the day~^^ Every single day~ i wish~ plus enjoy the things that you do..walk n run to calm your mind..n don’t push yourself so much to be others..be yourself..💪💪👍👍😊😊
Any chance "Hiking with Cammie" will be back? It would be so cool to have as a monthly thing. LA is so beautiful to vlog, and you can invite a different guest to join you each time. Maybe have a picnic halfway and maybe do an interview style talk, or a q&a with a certain topic. Also, do you have tips for someone who doesn't like vegetables, is lazy, has poor stamina and lung capacity and mostly is bored silly when exercising? Eating less is so much easier than getting a routine for exercising. But it can lead to unhealthy food patterns and yoyo-ing weight. I'm trying to go for a walk an hour a day, but mostly it's just a few times per week. What do you think of this as a step for healthier diet: In odd months (January, March, May, etc) no snacks or junkfood. If you feel like you exercised well all week you can make an exception. If you "sinned", uou need to compensate with more exercise. In even months no restrictions (but within reason). If you didn't do well last month, you need to catch up.
Really love that video idea! I don't operate well off of a punishment or restriction system so I wouldn't personally recommend it but that can definitely work for some people. Just find what feels good for you and what you ENJOY! Not what you have to force yourself to do.
@@CammieScott Oh, I did my hour walk for the day (had to get catfood 😻 anyway) and am rewarded by a reply 😉. Glad you liked my idea! I think I agree, too strict rules lead to resentment of that rules. I kinda try to be flexible with goals but still push myself.
Notif squad here! I was binge watching your video for weeks now. OMG! why was i not aware you exist this whole time. I wish i have come across your channel years before. But anyway i love you, all the way from the philippines 😘
Yuuusss just what I need on a day like today! I stopped running because I read or heard somewhere it contributes to ageing (face, joints), but I loved it when I was running semi-regularly so is that a silly reason to stop? Probably.
Running does have links to joint damage over time. But if you love it, and make sure you're using the correct shoes/technique then keep doing it! Maybe intersperse it with less weight baring exercise like swimming and some strength/flexibility like yoga and you'll be good! 😊 Running semi-regularly shouldn't be a problem. Running a lot, daily may cause issue down the line (stress on may, because research contradicts a lot!).
@@CammieScott I love you so much and I am from the Middle East and you have good followers here and I need to tell you u helped me a lot of your videos Thank you very much
You should try to start lifting weight ! The feeling is just AMAZING 🔥 It makes u feel so strong and get u muscle definition 💪🏻 Also it really boosts your confidence 💯 btw your body is perfect like reeeally 🤗❤️ Kiss on the cheek ✌🏻
I will never understand the whole "exercise makes you feel energetic" thing 😂 I go to the gym regularly, try different routines, have had pts etc but exercise just KILLS my energy. If I exercise in the morning, I'm dead all day. I tend to go in the evening and then I sleep better 😂 I wish I could be a morning exercise person as I very often don't go in the evening if I've had a long day. But I cannot.
Starting is always difficult, however something important to remember when someone starts exercising is that you have to eat and sleep accordingly to the way you're exercising.
hmmm that's interesting! Everyone is different but I would say check your diet! Make sure you're eating enough and fueling your body through the workout and post workout!
yeah, I definitely am. I've seen dietitian etc. I suffered from M.E. as a teenager so I always wonder if that is why my energy is so poor. I sleep enough (8-9 hours per night) and eat well but I've always found exercise draining. 🤔 I assume it's a health thing as I've tried everything else. My blood work is fine etc too but still no luck.
@@croxvamp I do sleep and eat well. And I am generally quite fit. I can comfortably complete a 45-60 min workout and feel fine throughout. But as soon as I get out of the gym, I just slump and want to sleep for an hour. It's really irritating 😂 I did try for a solid 6 month to exercise in the morning. I was going to bed at 9.30pm and getting a solid 9hours. I just couldn't sustain it. Despite seeking professional and medical advice, it drained me completely.
“doing the fitness” is my new way of telling people i’m going to work out
I love you guys a lot and I'm so lucky to have a platform to talk about this. It's so important to me and truly hope this helps someone who is struggling like I have. xx Cam

I think I agree, too strict rules lead to resentment of that rules. I kinda try to be flexible with goals but still push myself.
I haven’t used a scale in a long time! Feels nice honestly 🙃
feels incredible right?!
Cammie Scott Yes! Feels kind of freeing 🤔 it’s been over 2 years for me, still loving it.
Notif squad here! I was binge watching your video for weeks now. OMG! why was i not aware you exist this whole time. I wish i have come across your channel years before. But anyway i love you, all the way from the philippines 😘

Simplemente hermosa i love you cammie y un excelente vídeo y mira cómo se llama la canción que se escucha del fondo 😘😍🤗😚😙😎
Yuuusss just what I need on a day like today! I stopped running because I read or heard somewhere it contributes to ageing (face, joints), but I loved it when I was running semi-regularly so is that a silly reason to stop? Probably.
chelleloreto hahaha do what’s best for you!
Well said! Glad you found your thing!
☺️ me too!

Kiss on the cheek ✌🏻
I will never understand the whole "exercise makes you feel energetic" thing 😂 I go to the gym regularly, try different routines, have had pts etc but exercise just KILLS my energy. If I exercise in the morning, I'm dead all day. I tend to go in the evening and then I sleep better 😂 I wish I could be a morning exercise person as I very often don't go in the evening if I've had a long day. But I cannot.
me too!!!
The " this is so annoying" sounded so much like joanna !!
