tbh i was playing through chapter 1 without even realization I missed the guangzhi boss and went onward to chapter 2 and kept playing till I beat the tiger boss then deiced to grind for xp and traveled all the way back to first level and that's when I found him I was shocked that missed him.
I too find it very confusing. You have humanoid monkeys, wolves, bears, tigers and pigs, spider women, dragons, bobble head monsters, fish people, gods, demons, rats… Is there even a single human in this game? It’s so matter of fact about all of this crazy stuff, too. And from what I’ve seen of the original story, it isn’t any more grounded. These aren’t complaints. Im just voicing my thoughts.
U need to watch the journey to the west The first chapter was about the monk that so greedy that he collect all clothes from other country monk The only one clothes he didnt have was the monk that travelled with sun wo kong And 1 day he finally get it , the monk lend it to him (All wukong crew mate spend a night there) He got greedy and he want to kill all the sunwokong crew mate He asked his both of his subordinate to kill em But one of his subordinate the fire boss one got a suggestion Why not burn the hut that they lived But ofc wukong knew and he use fire mantle to protect the palace and the fire spread to all the greedy monk temple Thats why u can fight him in anceient guanyin temple Because his soul lingering cant pass to heaven He just want his last piece of fabric And yes theres no human because its between ghost and demon realm I might be wrong CMIIW
The only reason I’m not confused is because I’ve watched one adaptation of Journey To The West (Monkey Magic anime! Great show!) But the order of events early in the game is confusing. But basically Stone Monkey got whooped by a Prince from the Celestial Heavens (who you saw in the opening scene) and that motivated him to want to grow and be stronger. He came to this area to learn under an instructor and his goal was to be the instructor’s best student. His next goal is to get revenge on the Celestial Heavens. I’ll prevent further spoilers from that point.
@@Dullsonic3 you will need an item from hidden location. In 2nd chapter When you will fight the 2nd princes let him charge and break the wall. After getting the item go to the waterfall in chapter 1

Took me multiple tries to beat the wandering wight, and finally did. And it wouldn't let me absorb it's spirit. Went to rest and it disappeared, so that's cool. Guess I get to miss out on it's abilities. Almost like you're supposed to save it for later in game. Yet, there's nothing that tells you that.
Literally what we all want, no bullsh!t nor western propaganda, just straight up to what it wants to present. Games made for freaks and games made for fun has too BIG gap between it.

You can claim it when you rest later
once you find the guy who upgrades your gourd you can reclaim the spirit
