I brought my sons up listening to many songs like this and it gave them such a wide experience and appreciation for ballads, duets, slow jams etc. They listen to the modern crap and really dont like it. They are just out of high-school and in early college and feel like this generation is missing out.
They never went away..they wrote songs for and produced almost every boy band and female pop singer from the late 90's to the early 2000's including Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys , and N Sync...they still tour....plus they are family members...Brothers and Cousins...their bond is strong...they are hardworking and very talented!
Sad but true...people talk about Hip Hop ...but R&B is truly dead....there is a underground movement as far as Neo Soul and many pop singers like Bruno Mars, Sam Smith and Adele have adopted the musical style because they were influenced by it in their youth and clueless young people act like they invented the wheel...I miss the old soulful ballads and the silky smooth performers of yesterday...the 60's, 70's , and 80's...even the 90's...but that is when things started to go downhill!
Nah, they don't think they invented the wheel. They prefer to hear it from non blacks to sing our music. Racism runs deep in all things. However, I am a Bruno stan and will not tolerate any slander towards him since he has stated that all forms of music were created by black people, which he is influenced by. On Twitter, he does his part to educate his non-black fans on where his music comes from.
