No question about it, I would absolutely pay another 10-20 pounds to get a properly long lasting fragrance. There is nothing more infuriating than spending good money on a fragrance that fails prematurely, and it ends up being more expensive, because you run through a bottle so quickly.
For me it's not even the runing through a bottle but the fact that you can't really utilize the fragrance the way you wanted to... I intend for people to still perceive it in the afternoon or evening when I put on fragrance in the morning but that doesn't always happen... I feel silly sneaking into the restrooms during the day to reapply, that's not relaxed at all...
Got this today and it is a beautiful fragrance. I got 10 hours on my skin. Projected really well for 4-almost 5 hours. It got faint at about the 9 hour mark but I can still smell it when I put my nose close to where I sprayed.
This and Frozen Cologne are without a doubt the best Alternatives to the beloved OG La Nuit. Both are a fresher Take of the Classic, and more wearable in the Summer, especially Frozen Cologne. Layering Ambroxan or ISO E Super in isolated form would be a way to boost the performance a bit. But still it's probably not going to be a Club Banger, it's the perfect Date Night Out scent tho.
I truly appreciate your honesty and passion. Your content is truly necessary, even for experienced frag heads like myself. My issue with this line is that they are expensive and do not last.
When Aaron said, “I am not” after reading the description I lost it 🤣💀. By far my favorite fragrance UA-cam channel, and one of my favorite channel’s overall. Love this guy.
I absolutely love bleu electrique. I'd happily pay double if it was beast mode. If someone comes close to cloning this with great projection and sillage I'll buy 4 or 5 bottles.
Loved this review! I really wanted you to do a review on this one! And not the “Eau” Electrique. I aswell thought you had confused the two! Bleu Electrique is amaaaazing! So happy to own it 💯
I bought half a bottle of this off someone online and I love it but yeah it doesn't last... I'd 100% pay an extra $20-$30 for a much longer last fragrance. Crank up the performance on this thing and YSL L'HOMME as well and I'm shelling out money for both because they're both awesome fragrances.
I could be wrong but it is my understanding that the context surrounding its discontinuation was that it was released during one of the peeks of the COVID supply chain crisis, so, as you know as a business owner, that complicated things and I think they just felt it was safer to halt production completely. Take that all with a grain of salt, but that’s the best explanation for why they would discontinue it almost immediately after its release.
Aaron, Awesome review of YSL Blue Electrique, and how to make it perform better with carbon animalic spray. Now I want a bottle of YSL Blue Electrique👍
I picked up 2 bottles but It's discontinued already after just a few months.....it's so strange and nobody knows why! They just pulled it off the shelves with no explanation. I heard a rumor that a ton of people were complaining about the longevity and that it was too similar to the original LA Nuit de L'homme which it Is but there are enough differences to make it a solid release. It does not last too long on me maybe 3 hours and I can't even smell it anymore unless I do about 30 sprays!
"Are you brave enough to take the step and captivate the ladies?" "I am not :)" That got a genuine audible chuckle out of me. I almost feel like I have to try this one now. I dismissed it at first as a boring "blue" take, but if Aaron is impressed, then i trust there's something to it. Discontinued? Crazy. This was hyped to high hell after release. I can never understand...
yes the bleu put me of as not a lover of the blue fragrance genre but pleased to say its not its a warm spicy fragrance of very good quality perfect for what its intended for just brought a back up bottle while i still can
I would pay the extra money for better performance. There are several scents that I love the scent profile of but don't bother owning because it's not even going to get me 6 hours. 8-10 hours is generally a good benchmark in my opinion. I work 12 hour shift and I want something that will atleast stick with me the majority of my day, especially since we can not spray anything at work. Getting 10+ hours is perfect even if it's an intimate scent bubble. I actually think YSL's Tuxedo has the perfect balance in performance. Not too loud but not too soft
Great review - Never considered this frag to be good for the Summer. Copied you and sprayed Animalix under my bottle and compared. Makes a clear difference to performance!
any weak fragrances you buy and you're thinking of using lotion, then just get the gift set with the aftershave balm. 👍🏾 LNDL, DnG the one EDP seem fine to me when I use it with the balm. 🤷🏾♂️ the balm is more or less free in the gift box, if you lucky you might even get it a few quid cheaper then just the fragrance alone.
Just bought it this week... so lovely! With some sprays on both skin and clothes I actually get good longevity from this. It really is wonderful as you say, Aaron. Thanks
I would absolutely pay more for better performance, in fact, that’s why I like going for more luxury fragrances like xerjoff and soon ATH because I want the performance and projection. Sometimes it’s ok to have a subtle scent like for the office but with these sweeter fragrances/ orientals I want performance. Beast mode
Longevity became an issue in recent years due to major corporations acquiring smaller houses and then cutting costs by watering down their best sellers and by doing so created a massive wave of watered down fragrances across the board. In the 90's two sprays of your favourite fragrance would last you a minimum 12h-24h on your skin and weeks on your clothes. These days pretty much only niche and Arabian fragrances come close to that. When profit takes over Art and Passion the whole industry suffers. I love your reviews Aaron. You match my personal taste 100% it makes it extremely easy for me to pick my next fragrance just watching your reviews😉
I stumbled upon your channel as I started to look into some reviews of some fragrances I I was interested in, I love your videos because I could feel the passion in the way you analyze every fragrance and makes me feel less weird about my nose and helps me embrace my heightened sense of smell, people criticize me because of how sensitive I am to smells but I can't help it, my nose isn't even close to how trained and refined yours is but still it makes me feel less alone to see someone appreciate a good smell. I'd appreciate it so much if you could make a video where you list your favorite fragrances for men of all-time, specially fragrances for men between 25 - 35. thank you for your content !
Another great review. I have the original la nuit de lhomme so I didn't see the need to buy bleu electrique but now I'm thinking I should've bought it.
I love YSL and whatever they did with the Y EDP formula. They need to do the same with the rest of Yves saint Laurent fragrances cuz the one is a complete beast! It last all day on my skin 8+ hours. Love Y EDP
FINALLY I managed to get a 100ml bottle of this, and WOW!! Absolutely gorgeous fragrance, so glad I bought it, but will only use it for very special occasions due to the difficulties in getting hold of it. Thanks for the great review x
The price v longevity concept is an interesting one. If you spend $80aud on a fragrance that you have to spray x6 + and then reapply, or a $180aud fragrance that you spray x3, which fragrance becomes the better value?🤔
Nice tips Aaron, thanks. I have Bleu Electrique and bought a back up bottle as it is being discontinued. I love it, its sweet sexy top class perfumery, but it does disappear on my very quickly. Why oh why do these houses release perfumes with weak longevity??
This is definitely a scent you would want to put on moisturized skin first. On dry skin, this lasts me maybe 4 hours. On moisturized skin, 10 hours later it was still going strong.
I would absolutely pay extra for more sillage, projection, and longevity. A lot of fragrances in my collection I bought with the criteria that they perform very well.
Verry good Video. I have Bleu Électrique for three month's. Over the time it's much stronger! Now it gives me 8 hours longevity! It is sooo gorgeous 😍😍
Maybe this has something to it all of my bottles were batched from January 2021 so they are all over a year old now, maybe some got more recent batches and they need to sit a bit longer... I am new to fragrances with Bleu Electrique being my first fragrance love and I am looking forward to seeing how these bottles change over time for better or for worse I have 16oz. Left unopened I heard someone say the Blue color may fade with time if it's artificial it might become Yellow Electrique! xD but as long as the smell doesn't go sour I will still wear it regardless the color of the juice
I don't seem to have performance issues with this one like others have been having. I get through a whole work day with 4 sprays and can still smell it when I wake up in the morning 🤷♂️
Yes they have discontinued this I've no idea why but the prices are already up on ebay people selling it for £100 etc it still occasionally pops back up at normal price on a few websites and quickly sells out again, As for your question yes I'd pay £20 extra if better performance was included in a fragrance i don't like the idea of having to do tricks to get a fragrance to perform or buying anything else to layer with it etc it should be all inclusive when you buy a fragrance and with some fragrances it already is, I'm not saying all should be beast mode but all should have a decent average performance without needing help from another product, in my opinion
YSL has a bit of a history of weird decisions with discontinuations and Bleu electrique was really discontinued for american markets afaik because about 6months after discontinuation rumors my friend got a bottle for me at a duty free in athens for about 40 euro for 60ml. I am very greedy with my use due to this. Afaik canada still gets it. My method is doing the jeremy fragrance 5 spray method and then 2 light sprays of pdm layton to get some of that heliotrope and it WORKS.
When i first sprayed this it instantly reminded me of the original la nuit when it first came out but just had that modern twist to it and not so much of the smoky ashtray smelling drydown. ysl is like the best and worst house. guess thats why i like them.. haha
Aaron, this is not discontinued in Canada. On me, the longevity is very good. I generally spray 2 times on the same spot - 3 different areas. 5-6 hours of good scent bubble
Received it yesterday, great fragrance! Wearing it right now! 👌🏻 Smelled it last year but bought the l’intense instead (second bottle). Now also discontinued and replaced by the EDP unfortunately!
This is one of my most complimented fragrances . Only yesterday i had a lady say “ you smell good” which wasn’t bad as i had been in the sun and felt sweaty , but her reaction was genuine . I did read that this is / was / will be ?? discontinued , so i always buy a new one every time my bottle gets to half . Just incase
This! I would choose to wear Bleu electrique to work and I work hard doing alot of manual labor and heavy lifting this caused alot of heat and sweat, all this led me to be afraid the fragrances would be too much but I actually got more compliments on hotter days, Bleu Electrique is a champion in the heat!
Discontinued possibly due to availability of ingredients (Gents Scents). In cases such as this reformulations can happen, but in this case, a temporary or permanent discontinuation has resulted. :(
New subscriber here, Aaron, I find your reviews amazing. Omar on School of Scent talks about you all the time and I've caught you on Frag-mental as well. It's wonderful to get your take on different scents and houses, I appreciate your honesty and knowledge. Consider me hooked!
Mine came in today from Hungary. Waaaayyyyyy nicer than the original La Nuit in my opinion. I really wasn’t sure about it at first, and it does kind of remind me of a fragrance for infants lol, but after a while it makes me feel warm but cool at the same time. Definitely a nice blue fragrance that isn’t extremely blue
I have no issues with paying an extra £20 odd for a fragrance to last much longer, that’s why I pay for the fragrance in the first place, I just simply believe a fragrance should be great, long lasting and give good silage. On my skin, this particular fragrance lasted all day on me. I didn’t go heavy with the sprays & nor did I spray on my clothes.. but the last time I wore it it was a lot cooler weather so maybe that could’ve been a factor? I’ll wear it again tomorrow and see what the difference is in warmer weather 👍🏼 Thanks again for the great review Aaron, brilliant as always mate 👍🏼
Without question, longevity extension by two to four or even eight times is worth the 10 £ or about $13 USD...I would even pay double that for a sent you rate as potentially 10/10...A good example is Roja Elysium I'm in love with the sent, but the projection and longevity could be improved for what it costs
Yes I'd rather pay a little more to have the fragrance last longer, without question. I also love love love your idea for a pre fragrance product to fix longevity.
I put this on today at 5 a.m. and then went to work. I worked all day, then came home, changed and I could still smell it clearly. Then I did cardio for 45 minutes and could still smell it. One spray on the lower left side of my neck and then one on the lower right side of neck. One spray on back of neck, then a spray on each wrist. It projected at an arms length or more for 2-3 hours, then settled down to a significant but close scent the rest of the day.
I just got this and personal i love it how it smells like it little warm but not too spicy just perfect and fresh at the same time i put 6 spray 4 on neck 2 first let them dry then again and one behind you can one spray on your shirt and i easily get 5-6 hours for party or date night its perfect for that amount of time
Amazing review - thanks! Lots of moving hands indeed. I was able to get this off a French website back last Christmas, which seems an age ago now. I heard it got discontinued with the rumour being down to raw materials meaning that no more runs of production were possible...who knows. I have however seen it come up on Notino. In regard to the price V Longevity, I'd definitely pay £15-20 extra if it meant using less and lasting longer! That said, this line is known for being more of a subtle scent.
I was surprised to really not get on with the scent of this. It smelt like some sort of sweet fizzy drink, like lollies, at least on my skin. Not what I want to project 😅 I do love to hear your informed take, though, and I look forward to trying it again to see if I can appreciate it any better.
It's definitely a great fragrance . Shame if its discontinued. I've heard it is as well. I bought a bottle when it was released. I would definitely (and do) pay more for longer performance
As someone who’s been a heroin addict for over 30 years, I’m not sure what you mean by a narcotic quality. I remember chasing the dragon when I was in high school in the eighties with China white number four. It smelt and tasted like Coca Cola, sarsaparilla and chocolate. I’ve also done this with brown sugar and it’s very similar. When you iv you get a chem taste. It’s like Kit Kat and coke. I even remember the days when you could belt, Oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone and the delicious hydromorphone. All very similar I also put ylang ylang essential oil on my skin and can not see how it could be described as narcotic.
Rumor is it’s already discontinued, yes. Nobody knows if it’s because of supply chain issues that may resolve at some point but it didn’t even make it a year. 😕
I have no clue why it is discontinued. It is their best flanker since the original, old formula. Actually lasts and you don't have to dose yourself in it.
Your video reviews are absolutely fabulous ! I have a darker skin tone as well, Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, and nothing stays on my skin. I love wearing Men's Fragrances. Beast Mode of Cambodian Oud mixed with a few other Notes like Amber a bit of Benzoin. Nothing too Animalic. I found that Vaseline actually does work to help a Fragrance last longer. I use natural Oil Fragrances with different types of Oud as the Base from a trusted Perfumer in Dubai. His Ouds are sourced from sustainable Forests and individual Growers and he knows how to create luscious Oud Attars. As for your question, I would pay more for a lot more longevity and scent performance in a Fragrance, definitely~💥
I Definitely wouldn’t mind investing a few more dollars for Better performance, we can always apply according to the occasion or mood. YSL Blue electrique is sadly discontinued, I made sure to get back up battles.
Great review Aaron 👌 I was shocked that it's getting discontinued already 😮 have no idea why 🤔 I would gladly pay more, if they would really work more on longevity and projection, because it's a shame that most fragrance get weaker every year :/
I have this one in my collection. But yes I would pay more for longer lasting. I have Carbon on the way so will give that a try under it. I know it's not your way of doing things copying others work but if this one could at least be an inspiration for an ATH frag with your own take on what this one could have been if taken to it's highest level of perfection I would definitely buy it.
I have a 2oz bottle of this that I've only sprayed once and I'm scared to spray it again cause I love it so much 😪 I LOVE this frag! Honestly, ide trade it just to not have to stare at it anymore haha
My decant of Bleu Electrique just came in. I agree that the scent is enjoyable there is a fragrance that is similar but far more nuanced in "Le Beau" by Jean Paul Gaultier. Sadly Le Beau is also discontinued but I still can be purchased at a discounted price. Honestly Le Beau is much better overall with much stronger longevity. I'm not sure how excited I am about the new release Le Beau Le Parfum as the notes differ from the original EDT version. I'd much rather prefer simply a more concentrated version of the original.
its a mystery why some companies discontinue good frags but ysl is known to bring flankers out and axe them pretty quick but this was on the market for over a year so thats really quick .
Think longevity and sillage are as important as the scent profile itself. I can't convince myself to spend a significant amount of $ on something that brings minimal joy.
Love your content and insight into the world of perfumes. I would love to hear your review of a scent from Allsaints specifically Concrete Rain…cheers💥💥

You can tell he loves this, and would probably love it even more if he redesigned it himself
No question about it, I would absolutely pay another 10-20 pounds to get a properly long lasting fragrance. There is nothing more infuriating than spending good money on a fragrance that fails prematurely, and it ends up being more expensive, because you run through a bottle so quickly.
Any ysl long lasting perfume for u?

@@HigherScents If you don't have 2 seconds for a squirt you're hard up.
This is the longest lasting lanuit del homme on my skin and it is one of the best, damn shame it's gone already

Dear Sir, we love you because one can tell you're certainly living in the flow of your passion. Absolutely admire that in a being. Peace & Love ❤️
He wanted to make sure it was well known. Killed me
I absolutely love bleu electrique. I'd happily pay double if it was beast mode. If someone comes close to cloning this with great projection and sillage I'll buy 4 or 5 bottles.
Yes it is discontinued after only 1 year but I don't know why. I have them and love them!!
Ooooo that lotion/spray youre creating sounds interesting, id definately buy that
Aaron,
Awesome review of YSL Blue Electrique, and how to make it perform better with carbon animalic spray.
I would pay more for better longevity, especially for fragrances like LNDL / LNDL Bleu Electrique (two of my fav frags ever). Great video, Aaron!
"Are you brave enough to take the step and captivate the ladies?"
"I am not :)"
That got a genuine audible chuckle out of me.
I was anticipating you to mention the mix up of eau electrique . That was epic on your part 😭 magical review on blue electrique!
Have been waiting for this one! Great vid Aaron!!!
any weak fragrances you buy and you're thinking of using lotion, then just get the gift set with the aftershave balm. 👍🏾
LNDL, DnG the one EDP seem fine to me when I use it with the balm. 🤷🏾♂️
the balm is more or less free in the gift box, if you lucky you might even get it a few quid cheaper then just the fragrance alone.
Tried this today. It’s excellent. I bought bleu de chanel parfum but it doesn’t last very long unfortunately.
Just bought it this week... so lovely! With some sprays on both skin and clothes I actually get good longevity from this. It really is wonderful as you say, Aaron. Thanks
Where did you buy it? It’s discontinued 😮
@@Shelly52351 Here in Denmark it's still available.
Beast mode
ATH makes strong and gorgeous fragrances.
Excellent, Aaron. Thanks for reviewing this fragrance. I would pay that extra money for a better performance.
From where
Love your short and calming reviews!
A double dose of Aaron today… YAY! 👍🏻👍🏻
🦄🦄🦄🦄
Great review Aaron! This fragrance owns beautiful cardamon notes, I can't get enough of them.
I would absolutely pay extra for more sillage, projection, and longevity. A lot of fragrances in my collection I bought with the criteria that they perform very well.
May I introduce you to JPG Le Male?
@@moustachio334 I enjoy the Le Parfum flanker. The only JPG in my collection.
Yeah it is great! How many sprays bro?
@@jamesfreefoot i was wearing 6 sprays in winter now that is its warmer i just go with 4 sprays

thank you for your content! You explain the fragrances so well! I really appreciate your perspective.
Canada just restocked and is widely available.
I’ll wear it again tomorrow and see what the difference is in warmer weather 👍🏼
Thanks again for the great review Aaron, brilliant as always mate 👍🏼
Without question, longevity extension by two to four or even eight times is worth the 10 £ or about $13 USD...I would even pay double that for a sent you rate as potentially 10/10...A good example is Roja Elysium I'm in love with the sent, but the projection and longevity could be improved for what it costs
Hi Aaron, love your reviews and videos. Can you make review of D&G The One edp/edt? I' m really interested in your opinion about it... 😊
1st! 😁
I would spend a bit more for better longevity. Ohh hell yeah! 👍
Love your reviews, passionate and detailed. Rock on 👌👍
I just got this and personal i love it how it smells like it little warm but not too spicy just perfect and fresh at the same time i put 6 spray 4 on neck 2 first let them dry then again and one behind you can one spray on your shirt and i easily get 5-6 hours for party or date night its perfect for that amount of time
i would be interested on the spray applied on the 5:13 mark

Amazing review - thanks! Lots of moving hands indeed. I was able to get this off a French website back last Christmas, which seems an age ago now. I heard it got discontinued with the rumour being down to raw materials meaning that no more runs of production were possible...who knows. I have however seen it come up on Notino. In regard to the price V Longevity, I'd definitely pay £15-20 extra if it meant using less and lasting longer! That said, this line is known for being more of a subtle scent.
Ah I finally bought it, I can finally take part in one of these videos
I love Bleu Eleqtrique as well. I’d pay full retail again, and if the performance were better, I’d still pay retail
I was surprised to really not get on with the scent of this. It smelt like some sort of sweet fizzy drink, like lollies, at least on my skin. Not what I want to project 😅 I do love to hear your informed take, though, and I look forward to trying it again to see if I can appreciate it any better.
This is like my #1 cologne. Anyway I just love listening to your videos it's like ASMR
Aaron unfortunately this fragrance is now discontinued but a great fragrance!! Great vid
This fragrance last 8-9 hours on my skin. I was actually surprised by it's performance. It's an EDT, but it smells & feels like an EDP to me.
Widely available here in Europe🤷🏻♂️
Your video reviews are absolutely fabulous ! I have a darker skin tone as well, Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, and nothing stays on my skin. I love wearing Men's Fragrances. Beast Mode of Cambodian Oud mixed with a few other Notes like Amber a bit of Benzoin. Nothing too Animalic. I found that Vaseline actually does work to help a Fragrance last longer. I use natural Oil Fragrances with different types of Oud as the Base from a trusted Perfumer in Dubai. His Ouds are sourced from sustainable Forests and individual Growers
and he knows how to create luscious Oud Attars. As for your question, I would pay more for a lot more longevity and scent performance in a Fragrance, definitely~💥
I have been wearing this for a couple of weeks now and find it to be beautiful and uplifting.
I Definitely wouldn’t mind investing a few more dollars for Better performance, we can always apply according to the occasion or mood. YSL Blue electrique is sadly discontinued, I made sure to get back up battles.
Great review Aaron 👌 I was shocked that it's getting discontinued already 😮 have no idea why 🤔 I would gladly pay more, if they would really work more on longevity and projection, because it's a shame that most fragrance get weaker every year :/
Great review Aaron, love all your work!
Would defo spend the extra!
Where do you get the carbon?
I'd definitely pay the extra to have it last, but I think this one was really short lived in the sense that it might already be discontinued.
The one fragrance I bought years ago and still do that uses, Heliotrope, it is the classic Diesel: fuel for life pour homme.
The reason it's discontinued is of supply issues but am guessing it might be re released in the future 🤔
I have this, its not discontinued, it is available on the YSL French website.
Think longevity and sillage are as important as the scent profile itself. I can't convince myself to spend a significant amount of $ on something that brings minimal joy.
Hi all, what did specific Aaron add to YSL perfumes to increase longevity? What s the name of this and where can I buy it?
Love your content and insight into the world of perfumes. I would love to hear your review of a scent from Allsaints specifically Concrete Rain…cheers💥💥
