I love the longer videos. I like to try to think with you as you go about your business. It's made me a better Commander and SL. Throw these longer vids in once in a while. Keep up the great work!
Great vid commander. Thanks for continuing to post these for us every once in awhile! It's really helpful for those of us working to improve our SL and Command skills.
@@commandercrane1945 considering I went from having played 4-5 command games, to now having 800+ hours commanding, and your videos gave me the confidence to play command and stick to it. It's now been over 500 hours of play that ive been better than every other commander, even those twice my level... it's all from watching your videos. Even now, I can still learn things from your videos. I started a strategy of dropping the first supply drop at spawn for nodes, because as you know (and had to deal with this game) people just don't build nodes a lot of the time. But you made a great point, using the first drop somewhere you wouldn't be able to do it in the future because they can't see it is probably more beneficial ~90% of the time. I'm sure there are some games that those supplies happen to be found and taken out, but there are also some games where my spawn supplies are somehow unseen/ignored/unused and Ill end up having full nodes built elsewhere, heh. You're the only commander I've seen who seems to know every aspect of the role, the game, and you always execute flawlessly even when your team does not. There are level 500 players who command and think they're good who don't know half of what you do. Thank you for everything you post, and for making me one of the most formidable commanders in the game (not including comp, ofc).
One thing really strikes me about these games, is it's only the commander who builds garrisons, and it's not just Commander Crane, it's across the board in 75% of the games I play. So my meta is being a sensible player, I initially select engineer and build a set of nodes (why wouldn't you) and if I've gone SL, I drop into another squad as engineer and build a set of nodes, guys just build nodes, even if you're commander, drop out and build nodes - never whine abount no nodes - you should have built one set regardless of your initial role, then normally I set up a locked squad, get a supply truck and go and build garrisons, defensive initially and once the defense network is built, try and advance on the flanks and build attacking garrisons, then I open up the squad for other players to join (because if your building ther node network your not managing your squad hence the locked squad).
I would swap to make nodes, but if someone takes the commander role I'm SOL and gotta wait til next game. If I am a SL, I swap to whatever needs to be done, sometimes to the chagrin of my squad.
There are 49 other completely capable people to build nodes.. it's messy and unnecessary for the commander to change roles for so many reasons not to mention someone else may decide to steal the commander role in the meantime. IMO it's the same deal with Squad Leaders leaving to do something else.. unless you have someone else who is capable and happy to take the SL role immediately.. by abandoning the SL role you've just stunted an entire Squad's effectiveness when the role that needed to be filled could have been delegated to somebody else. Everything works much more like a well oiled machine when people manage correctly and are confident to delegate tasks as necessary.. If leadership has tried their absolute best to organise people and they're falling on deaf ears then you have much bigger problems at play and are probably gonna lose anyway.. in that case swapping roles to whatever needs doing might be the only way to get anything happening but it should be a last result, not the default IMHO
@@jdot5974 nitpicking a little, but there aren't 49 in reality. Maybe 40. Squad leads, recon, and tankers. But you're right regardless - with that many other players, nobody should have to abandon those roles to build them.
@@siLence-84 lol yeah, sometimes there's no other option but to do it yourself, at which point it's like.. why did they even choose to buy into a game that's all about coordination and communication if they're just going to ignore everything around them and play like they're mindless? It boggles the mind
It’s kinda funny, when I play commander I kinda just want to support the team however necessary but don’t want to tell them how to play the game. When I’m squad lead or infantry I want someone to tell me when to breathe 🤣🤣
Played my first commander role today. My second match was 5-0! Thanks to my team, of course, but it was super fun! Your game play is teaching me fast, thank you.
im lv50 and always try to get a set of nodes up start of game for the commander but just that one set is not enough need atleast 2 3 is more preferable but people dont understand what they do and why they are important. Sadly many also dont want to let you teach them the importance of them
How did you know they were dropping an airhead, and not supplies at 1:01:32? Is that not the same airplane and sound? Why do you put a mark on top of SL marks? (tanks +++) Thx for a great video. Play commander when nobody wants to. Usually SL or engineer. Greetings from norway. (Max Manus - gamename)
The airhead has a distinct sound different from all other planes. Mostly, it is fast. You copy the marks so that everyone on the team can see them. SL marks only visible to their squad and leadership.
I tried the supply and airdrop on an empty server, and now I know how to hear the difference. I though that if I as a SL put a mark on the map, everyone would see that aswell. Now I can be a better commander, when I have to step up and help the team. If I want to watch a TL match. Where can I find the stream, and is it possible to watch old matches? Thanks in advance.
@@larsnielsen3296 The streams are never the same person. The streamers for all those are mostly on Twitch, but they have youtube channels too. 9:02 Maybe its just because I'm watching on mobile but you say there's lots of People there yet I see nothing.. even rewinded it and paused a few times to try and see what you're seeing..
it is. you can't see. they're too small. there's 5-6+ players, running in different directions. also based on location it's more likely a garrison than an OP.
Ok... so there's definitely 2 different modes of Foy Night, right? One that's clear, and then one with a fog weather setting right? It seems like a lot of maps have the potential for this fog weather setting, and I'm guessing it's just activated randomly? Because there are matches where I can 300m clearly, and then matches where anything over ~120m becomes near impossible to see clearly. I figure among people who'd know this for sure, you would be one of them.

Good call on the commitment to attacking at the end. You know the game really well. It's always fun to watch your style.

Great job at Commanding. I was watching A-Squad and they was putting in some work……

You're really in the know about the game and fair play for that, only thing I would say is you're kinda rude to your SLs...

Kursk at night is different, it has almost no visibility.
