@Maverick - Yessss!!!! Keep it real! I've seen/experienced things in Jamaica that would make you'd think it was 1980s apartheid South Africa. Classism = Casteism, the distinction gets blurred in Jamaica. R.N. Marley - 'Crazy Baldhead' - "...Is I-and-I build the cabin, is I-and-I plant the corn, didn't my people before me slave for this country? U look at me with your scorn, then u eat-up all my corn".
Mav, you made some good points. I agree with you partly. Here’s the deal: I love Bolt. But there’s one thing that he did early in his career that I didn’t like. Kiss ass 😒 Bolt tried way too hard to fit into this Uptown money crowd that simply didn’t accept him bc of jealousy and bad mindedness. He said it himself on Ian Boyne’s show. N’theless, Bolt went into business with them- (Matalon, Myers and Shirley boys & Co) UB Tracks and Records Restaurant comes to mind. That venture was a failure and he got out somewhat. Similarly, Bolt willingly gave the white Croskery family/SSL, his millions to “invest”. We now know how that went. Big mistake. Why give them so much money?? Bolt could’ve put that money anywhere in the world!! In sum, Bolt (and his team) miscalculated how deep classism runs above Manor Park!! As a result, he got burnt very badly. My advice to Bolt would be to fight back VERY hard. Hire the very best lawyers in New York including a top private investigating firm with international experience to follow the money trail. That money has left JA long time ago. SSL has subs all over the Caribbean! Take the matter to the New York courts that would trigger the FBI & SEC to get involved in the investigation. For example, check out the fraudster Allen Stanford’s case who defrauded investors from his company in Antigua as a model. Then you’ll see how fast that 12M USD get back to Bolt! Sir Bolt: Don’t waste your time fighting these people in Jamaica on their turf where they are more influential than you. Go international pon dem! Good luck King! 🙏🏽
True talk! UB was trying to do the right thing and invest in his country. However, greed among the vultures may well lead him to invest in say Switzerland. His own countryman let him down too often. Sad! One positive from this. Internationally people are checking their funds. Lewis Hamilton, Raheem Sterling, Netball ladies etc. To thy ownself be true.....
@@HenryScara Subject matter jurisdiction can be established outside Jamaica by virtue of the fact that stolen funds have been transferred to the US- this includes assets bought in the US using his funds.
Mr. Tracy, most Jamaicans are entertainment and thrill seekers who have little to no interest in meaningfully discussing the social or political issues that are destroying and dividing the country - that makes them very uncomfortable. It's not until some of them travel overseas and experience blatant racism and discrimination it's only then that they start to pay attention and express shock and disgust at this ugly reality. In Jamaica, we are obsessed with repeating the country's motto - which is simply not true. We are also mindlessly religious, naively thinking we can simply pray away all national and personal issues. So wrong! Most of Jamaica's professional athletes are from humble to dirt poor rural or urban areas. Had it not been for sports 99% of them would be unknown and living a mediocre life. So these athletes must focus and recognise that they are "products and commodities" being used (with or without pay) to achieve their respective agendas NOT because they like them!! In America, most successful Blacks especially in entertainment/sports etc. stick together because they recognise that they are stronger together. Jamaicans should give this a try.....our culture of being divisive has hurt us, not helped us. Stop sucking up to and begging access to and approval from these uptown snobs!! I saw an episode of Asafa Powell's UA-cam thing recently and thought here we go again......another country boy being tricked into believing that he has been warmly accepted into the upper class of Ja. but alas!! You don't know what you don't know......he and others had better learn from what has happened to Mr. Bolt....a rather expensive lesson!! Classism and racism are alive and kicking in Jamaica. These people would not have touched the following people's money in their dreams let alone in reality; - Adam Stewart son of the late "Butch" Stewart - The Mahfood's - The Issa's - The Matalon's - Lee- Chin Among others. Even the PM and his wife are tolerated because of the powerful office they hold. Otherwise coming from the grassroot of Spanish Town gives you no clout. That's also why it hurts most Jamaicans so deeply that one of our own, Andrew Holness, has turned against us and seem to now be rubbing shoulders with and taking sides with Jamaica's elites. We'll continue to show strong interest in this matter because it will expose a lot more about what is wrong in Jamaica and fix them!!
On the point of Jamaicans going broad , that is very true, the whole browning rhetoric doesn’t fly in western countries , it’s when Jamaicans travel and have their ‘ni**er’ moment, some of them wake up while others continue to bleach so they can be accepted . They tolerate Andrew and his wife because he’s a man of lighter complexion, if he was dark skinned like Portia they would have moved him out by now.
@@user-zi4iu5lj6z Greetings. That's right. For these reasons I'd love to see more Jamaicans experience the enlightening privilege of int'l travel. Interestingly, most of Ja. uptown are NOT white and the average Ja. doesn't know this. Most of them are mixed South and Central Americans, a few from the Middle East, some Asians and Indians. It's laughable because the elites of Ja. are considered minorities in first world countries and are treated as such yet they snob black Jamaicans like the legend Usain Bolt. I've never seen any credible international news house or film organisation visit Ja. to interview any of these uptown people. Maverick a lot of those brown people you are talking about we know where their wealth are coming from.they are not in Bolt class the runner money is clean no drugs!!!
Well said Maverick. The stratified society of Jamaica was always a way to keep the majority of Jamaicans subservient to the few who consider themselves aloft and above the masses. Unfortunately, that is the only way those so called upper class Jamaicans can feel good about themselves. It is sad but Jamaicans are not fully liberated in their thinking. On either side of the coin, we have not evolved from our colonial mindset. It is crazy because not even money cannot buy your acceptance. This is why the average Jamaican will go to any length to validate his or her importance. Bolt situation offers a perfect peek into how this class structure operates. The careful silence on the part of some who should have publicly denounced this gross misconduct and criminal act is too obvious. This silence is not golden. It speaks to much of what Maverick is saying. I sincerely hope Jamaica can grow from this experience. This is terribly disappointing and embarrassing.
Bolt is a “just come”! I don’t like how him just move in beside me. This “country bwoy”. But when he was running and waving the flag “mi did proud”! Hypocrisy not scarce. You hear me?
I do agree with your argument on Jamaica's class system; and on top of that, envy and jealousy are easy emotions to arouse in people, so one can just imagine this combination against Bolt. And by the way, correct me if I am wrong. I haven't heard anyone getting arrested thus far, for the investment scam/crime.
Finally classism is being called out in this. The thing is. I live in Canada right now and I pref to deal with racism over jamaican classism. Jamaican classism is EXTREMELY toxic and suffocating. You have to struggle because people hold you down when they feel like you shouldn't be certain places or have certain things.
I agree and disagree. For you to say in Canada you will take their racism over Jamaican classicism, you speak from a place of no REAL experience with TRUE racism or you would not make that statement so lightly. Have you been sent death treats; been spit on or at; had cops pull you over multiple and drawn a firearm at you etc, these are the situation many black people deal with in a truly racist society.

Recall that in the Miss Jamaica (World) contest of 1978, Joan McDonald was declared the winner ONLY after Rastas raised strong opposition that the previous winners since independence were NOT representative of the masses. Instead, those before 1978 were moreso in line with "multi-culturalism" - just to be direct, yet polite. And too, jog your memories to back 1976 when then, Cindy Breakespeare - had won.
He is so right classism is real in Jamaica. A little country boy should not have that kind of money what about the sacrifices he made to get there as opposed to the person who didn't even break a sweat for their money. Open our eyes it's real time classism.
While I agree to some extent, I said to my sister last week, this lady looked at these people's money and decided they shouldn't have that much. Because she might think that their background should not grant them such wealth. However, I don't know the background of some of the others, but I'm concerned about the pensioners and elderly whose earning days are behind them. In October 2022 I figured something was wrong because I emailed about my account, and wanted to do further investment and not get a response. However, I didn't invest more than I was willing to lose, because I learn my lesson from FINSAC.
I been saying this, I concur 100% with ur point Oral. It's distribution of wealth amongst the elites, some people are not allowed to gain wealth to a certain extent in this country.

Many people in this comment section did not listen closely to what the Maverick said. He specifically stated that class was a FACTOR in the disappearance of Bolts investment with the company and not the MAIN reason.
Straight facts if money belonged to the M family whose son Bolt has done business with , the I family, L C family, the St family or any other well known family that is close to whiteness it would still be there

Classist: Treating someone unfairly or having negative opinions about them based on their social class (= economic and social position), especially because they are thought to be from a low social class: I found the discussion of street clothes and street culture to be racist and classist.

Kiss ass 😒
Bolt tried way too hard to fit into this Uptown money crowd that simply didn’t accept him bc of jealousy and bad mindedness.
Jurisdiction!!!!
THIS!!!!👏👏👏👏
A good forensic accountant would also be useful to pin point irregularities in SSL’s paperwork.
Classism and racism are alive and kicking in Jamaica. These people would not have touched the following people's money in their dreams let alone in reality;
- Adam Stewart son of the late "Butch" Stewart
- The Mahfood's
- The Issa's
- The Matalon's
- Lee- Chin
Among others.
Well said! 👏👏
The good thing is that most people is waking up to the reality of our country
👏👏👏👏👏
It's almost always to understand what is happening in with the common people and in Dancehall/Reggae i.e Bob Marley (whom the establishment rejected back then) Jimmy Cliff, Beenie/Bounty etc. When Prince Harry visited Ja. the int'l press couldn't get enough of him and Bolt on and off the track.
Ja. continues to be a big puzzle and paradox...it's mind boggling. All said, our true track superstar needs to recoup his entire investment from Zac Harding and the father/son Croskery from SSL!!
Take care👍
Classism is Rife in Jamaica 🇯🇲 Classism is Rife Even within Jamaican Families. Good Commentary.
Perfect sense Breda….I preached this same message everyday to my family and colleagues….it’s just another one of those sad realities.
Speak Truth to power Maverick. Use your platform to shout them out. We support you.
yeah man. Big up Bolt. Ol' country bunkin bway.

If you take the class or complexion out of it, Town people have a tendency to under rate country people
That is still part of the class issue
“ Your topic is eye 👁️ opening. I live in the USA. I am a nurse. I can just imagine what is left in my bank accounts? Because most of my family migrate, and live overseas. It is not a good look on the international scene. People are very skeptical now about Jamaica Investments opportunities.
You have hit the nail on the head. Your presentation is spot on.
Real Talk Maverick....you making a lot of sense. Jamaica have this Classism issue for a very long time.........
These statements made by you Mr Tracy are so true.
I am very very disappointed in the Jamaican government to allow SSL to rob hard working Jamaican people money. It just look real bad. This is worst than what the scammer dem doing.
So true could not said it better, that's why he should not stop until he get Evey pennies with intrest
@Maverick, you are so correct on this point. Sean Paul’s wife spoke out about Bolt’s parties and further said he should go back where he is from noting Bolt not from the Norbrook community.
And yet her father in law was one of the biggest druggist in Jamaica.
Oral, well stated! ✔️ Some people think some people not entitled to their hard earned drug free money. We are all humans! Jah lick them with the rod of correction and return Usain Bolt and other investors’ money🙏🏽
Maverick
I have had the same conversation with a couple colleagues of mine in the diaspora and you couldn't not explain it any better.
Your recollection of him his precious neighbor is a perfect example I used then.
I have said from day one that Usain money is Uotown and and they they consider themselves untouchable from all possible wrought contrary to the possible of others and what they would have done.
The majority of the little people needs to come together and overthrow this system, we are more than the elites
A viable replacement system, discipline, individual sacrifices, re-education, etc, In other words a plan has to be in place prior.

Solid argument Maverick. Solid. Same suh it guh. Membaseh is only the other day that they accepted us in banks and hotels.
Bwoy I never realise this chopping ting yah real until it happen to Usain Bolt. Classism is real and its more prominent in Jamaica than a lot of us can think or imagine. Usain is an ambassador for Jamaica and shouldn't be treated like this regardless of where he is from or his blackness. I Hooe true justice prevail in all of this. 👊🏿⭐️❤️

Forget the laughter when dealing with serious matters,as it tends to trivialize what is being said.I agree with all that you have said about classism in Jamaica.
Sarcastic Sarcasm son m
In total agreement! 💯% truth! The guys money wouldn't get touched if his name was Matalon, Azan, Chen, etc. Double standard and utmost hypocrisy. Cause the thief's name is Panton, and to date, she's still not arrested.
Not true she is one of the thief
The name Panton rings a bell, one was lost at sea along with some other prominent names, the power boat Powder Tail comes to mind, that was recovered in Alligator Pond.
I love how you talk straight tho.. Too many Jamaicans behaving like discrimination against black people no longer exist our country .. The monied classes are still not the black people of our country. Big up for trying to put this topic back on the agenda. Like in South Africa, this matter is still very much unsettled in Jamaica !!
Talk facts 💯 👏🏿 mi general
Only certain classes of people are recognized in Jamaica 🇯🇲. If you have flat nose 👃 🤣 nappy hair, and dark skin, you are not qualified to be among the Elites of Jamaica. That's why the Jamaican People are bleaching the heck out of their skin to look like the Matalon, and the Azans. A lot of people are just in denial big time. Jamaica 🇯🇲, will always be Class and Color Prejudices. I was born in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and I know exactly what I am talking about. They never saw Bolt, as equal to them. You hit the nail 💅 right on the head 👏.
Racism AND Classicism...
2 sides of the SAME coin. Colorism is Racism among the African diaspora, the "former" colonials. This thing is very, VERY DEEP.
So true. This is why they don’t leave jamaica and even if they do for vacation, it’s not for long because their status BS don’t wash with white ppl. From you have a drop of black in you, white ppl see you as black.
They bleach their skin because they are self hating fools. Stop seeking acceptance from people and treat them the same way they treat you. Nothing is stopping dark skin Jamaicans from discriminating against light skin Jamaicans the same way they do to them.
MR. MAVERICK, I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR NOT ONLY YOU CANDOR, BUT BRAVERY. Brother we need you to keep talking the truth. I pray that you will use your cache, your power, your influence to forward what I am trying to promote, but obviously, does not have the platform. My thinking is that when we attain REPUBLIC FORM OF GOVERNMENT, SHELLY ANN FRASER PRYCE, IS A MOST WORTHY HEAD OF STATE. At least that conversation should be had. There is no better role model in our country for our young people, as a starting point in this conversation. There are in my view overwhelming reasons why this will be the best choice for our country

Praying for Jamaica -- the government needs to be responsible as well
I didn’t know about classism in Jamaica
🙏❤️😇
More real talk! The dirty truth must be told.
While I was living in Jamaica 🇯🇲 I saw classism in school, in Jobs, in relationships, etc. This is real it is the next form of racism.
FACTS MI GENNA. HAVES N DI HAVES NOT. UPTOWN VS DOWN TOWN. BLATANT CLASSISM
one of the problems in Jamaica is that very issue if classism..Manley really wanted to change that and was the reason for his political demise . in his words he wanted an egalitarian society but the Big names who ran the PSOJ and who had no connection to the slavery experience cried foul. sad tale of a country that could have been a epitome to the world...politics what has thou done Capitalist where is thy victory?
Can you please make your commentary longer please. This topic needs more and a lot more of discussion
I agree with you on this one go international and you will see how fast you get your money back
Maverick on point as usual. I said the same last week when the theft was announced. If it was the Matalons or the Stewarts etc, it would have never happened.
I agree Jamaica is the most
classist country " out of many one people" is a fraudulent motto
I whole heartedly agree with you 110% Maverick
Maverick a lot of those brown people you are talking about we know where their wealth are coming from.they are not in Bolt class the runner money is clean no drugs!!!
Absolutely correct and I pray it remains so now that he is rubbing shoulders with many of them.
Love your take on this..
CLASS IS ALWAYS, ALWAYS A THING IN JAMAICA.
FACTS BRO
You are 100 percent unapologetically talking the truth
The other day mi di have to knock you over some sports ting, but mi can't knock you now. You a talk di ting real! Big up youself! You a di big man!
Bolt is a “just come”! I don’t like how him just move in beside me. This “country bwoy”.
But when he was running and waving the flag “mi did proud”!
Hypocrisy not scarce. You hear me?
Same way they treat the Late Great Bob Marley when he moved uptown.
The song blood money from protoje comes to mind.
Shawn Paul wife made it clear couple years ago!!!
You touch what’s mine, I don’t care what class you are!!!🤔🤯🤷🏽♂️
Maverick, you hit the nail on the head!
Perfect Sense Mr. Tracy
They are both the same evil 😈.
@@nataliemullings6908 True, but he may be saying it's more expected from people who are not your own people. But classism and colorism in your own family and among your own people is another thing. It's like going to your home for some peace and run into the samething
@@shockingcolor I have a dark skin sister who has a lighter skin daughter. She name her Miss Chin, and always critiquing other peoples kids. I know exactly what you are talking about. You are 10000%right. Ask Peter tosh or Bob Marley. Jamaica, what?unbelievable
I’m glad you pointed out the color/class issue at play here! Jamaica is a glorified plantation. The Buckra still run tings.
That's so true maverick
The truth must be told, keep talking bro.
Real talk maverick
Talk the things Maverick, say it till dem shame.

I been saying this, I concur 100% with ur point Oral. It's distribution of wealth amongst the elites, some people are not allowed to gain wealth to a certain extent in this country.
More truth has never been spoken. Not only class, but colour /color also. Now-a-days white skin Jamaicans are saying ‘we used to get along’. Unicorn meat ! We used to ‘go along to get along’ Truth is painful.

Real talk. I know that Jamaica is a classism country
Many people in this comment section did not listen closely to what the Maverick said.
He specifically stated that class was a FACTOR in the disappearance of Bolts investment with the company and not the MAIN reason.
Straight facts if money belonged to the M family whose son Bolt has done business with , the I family, L C family, the St family or any other well known family that is close to whiteness it would still be there
I am NOT Jamaican but I suspect you are 100percent correct. This was Big EYE pass so CLASSISM MUST be the secret IT contributing factor.
Bolt mad man!!! I wouldn't invest 50$ into nothing so-called uptown people or upper class criminals them involved into.
Zachary Harding called him "the runner" in the Observer today.... And the singer wife did tell him to go back where him come from.
That’s what my old man said to me straight away.
Cuss yuh sometimes Maverick but a pure sense yuh a talk brother.
Yes yuh talking nuff sense! Jamaica is a classist & clourist SOCIETY! Alot of Jamaicans with lil change or no change in their pockets behave as if them SHITE can mek PATTY!
Colourist:
Prejudiced against people with dark skin. specifically : showing favor to light-skinned people over those with darker skin within a racial or ethnic group.
Classist:
Treating someone unfairly or having negative opinions about them based on their social class (= economic and social position), especially because they are thought to be from a low social class: I found the discussion of street clothes and street culture to be racist and classist.
Str8 facts maverick....
It was only today I thought the same thing... Just a likkle country bwoy bout him waan rich like we....such a sad period in Jamaica's already sordid history😢. Classism at work.
And even by some weird chance it was touched within 24hrs after becoming news everyone involved would be in handcuffs

Maverick, I totally agree with you on the whole class prejudice in Jamaica. I don't think Jamaica is a racist country though. If even a "red kin bwoy" from bolt community and is of the same lifestyle, he would still be told to go back from where he's from.
We can also speculate that it was the certain class of people that took Bolts money. They wouldn't touch that of their friends.
