  • In today's video I will show you how to make a DIY dripper for your chameleon. Hydration and humidity play a key role in keeping your pet chameleon healthy. Today we will talk a little bit about this topic as well as take a look at my male panther chameleon Bert and his 4 foot Reptibreeze enclosure. Great video I'm not a fan of the drippers myself but they do work well an smaller ones are best as I fully agree with u that fresh water daily Is best 🙂
    I use a water cantina for my chameleons it is a chore having to clean daily but I find mine drink from it more than they do drops off the drippers 🙂
    I have the zoomed led canopy for my red eye tree frogs can 100 percent recommend it the led lighting is great keep up the great content loving the fire bellys Viv looking great 🙂🙂

      Thanks mate. Its the first time I've tried a dripper. So far so good and he waits for me to fill it each morning. I looked at those and wanted to get one but people kept telling me not too. I think people don't like cleaning them each day but doesn't really bother me.
      Thats good to know as im planing on getting them new lighting soon. How are things with you mate?

      @@JonsRainforestRoom good Ty mate I would honestly my side recommend the cantina for drinking my boy drinks from his daily the cleaning daily is why ppl don't use it but it's not that that much of a hassle I don't find 🙂 ul love the zoomed canopy if u get one 👍

      Thanks mate I might try one to see. I'm thinking of picking the lighting up today if my local reptile shop has them in stock. Cheers Dave

    Awesome video thank you very much for sharing... I find that the little dripper you purchase at pet stores eventually don't work or they don't work at all... Gonna have to do this for my big dude...

      Thanks Christine! I always like making these little projects when they are so close to what you buy anyway. Good luck with yours 😃

    I have a qeustion for you! How do you drain your waste water out of your enclosure? When you adit a dripper, or do you place somthing onder it, To collect the water?

      Best way by far is to drill a hole through the bottom and have a bucket 🪣 under to catch the water.

    Awesome videos, which inspired my bioactive terrarium for my Cuban Anole. Problem is we accidentally trained her to drink from a spritz from a water bottle on her beak, but now she refuses to drink from her dripper. Any advice on correcting this?

    Hi Jon, I recently set up the DIY co2 system on my 10g aquarium. I don't have a filter in it yet, was thinking of getting a mini sponge filter and hiding it in the back. Do you think the air pump will deplete the co2 levels in the tank? Or do you think I it would be better to go for a different filter. (maybe a dennerle corner filter?)
    Any advice would be appreciated as I don't want to suffocate my fish with co2 but I also don't want to cancel out the co2 if that's that an air stone would do. 🤔
    Thanks 🤣

      Hey mate! I wouldnt think it would matter to much. Its more the plants to think of as they will absorb oxygen at lights out so it would benefit them then. As long as your not going overboard with the amount of CO2 you should be fine.
      How are you finding the DIY CO2 mate?

      @@JonsRainforestRoom I like it, so far it seems to be working pretty well. I'll try and make a video of the new tank soon. if your interested in seeing the DIY co2 system I can show that too.
      Are you thinking of trying it on one of your tanks?

    • @JonsRainforestRoom
      @JonsRainforestRoom  3 роки тому +1

      I have always thought about it just to give it a go. I have thought of setting up 2 nano tanks exactly the same and run CO2 on 1 and DIY on the other to see if there is any difference. Would like to do a CO2 setup vs no CO2

    • @SpiritAquatics
      @SpiritAquatics 3 роки тому +1

      @@JonsRainforestRoom DIY co2 can be just as good as pressurised imo, it's just less controllable. More sugar and yeast would produce co2 faster, as would having a warm room vs a cold one. I just went for DIY co2 because it is so much cheaper. 🤣
      Could be interesting to see a co2 vs no co2 set up with the same substrate and plants.
      I'm not sure if you're still wanting to keep bettas but if you put the 2 tanks next to each other you could scape them to look like 1 tank and have a betta in each side if you did the co2 experiment 😁

    • @JonsRainforestRoom
      @JonsRainforestRoom  3 роки тому +1

      Very true it is much cheaper. I've never given DIY so maybe I should.
      Always love bettas but having a break from them for now. But let's face it, they will be back at some point 😆. That's a good idea, one scape in 2 tanks 👍
