- Meagan Good and husband DeVon Franklin have split after 9 years of marriage. In legal docs obtained by ET, filed by Franklin on Monday, the reason he cited for the divorce is ‘irreconcilable differences.’ Good and Franklin married in 2012, after meeting on the set of ‘Jumping the Broom.’

People don't understand that if they go into marriage with unhealed hurts, unresolved issues from their past, a lack of understanding about who they really are as individuals, those hurts and issues don't just disappear with marriage. Getting married is just a shortlived distraction from their true reality. When the ooey gooey feelings of superficial love and the excitement that goes with that disappears (and it does) and real day to day life/interaction faces them....love is not enough.....

As a married God loving man this upset me. Noone asked them to elevate there relationship to be a model of Christian values. And now years later getting a divorce. @@livenowliveright8509 First of all we don't know when the interview where Devon said Will Smith was his mentor took place. It must have been before the August/ entaglement issue.
Also a mentor should be someone already doing what one's dreams of doing. Will Smith has been a producer and husband in Hollywood for ages so it makes sense that Devon would see him a mentor.
However if Will Smith is truly his mentor, I believe Devon should work on making it work.
Devon and Will both married women that are somewhat opposite in character and value systems to theirs', however Jada seems to love and be more committed to Will when compared to Megan and Devon (despite the her sleeping with August which happened when Jada and Will were seperated for 2 years people!!!!!)

Marriage is not definite. Yes you try to make it last which involves working through challenges but sometimes even that's not enough. People evolve and sometimes this means, they no longer workout as a married couple.
It's not always a sad or bad thing. Sometimes it's awareness that what was, no longer is, and if you've fought to work through it, but were unable to reach a resolve, it's okay to let go.
