10:18 for anyone not familiar with this game, there is actually an option where you can turn on a drift camera for cockpit view. Your character, so to speak, will then move their head according to the way the car moves and turns, so that you have way more visual clearance. Why Joewon did not turn this setting on for showing off the cockpit in a mitsubishi drift car is very questionable but I guess he just forgot about it.
Actually at 15:08 you can see exactly that feature I was talking about.

I find it a bit interesting that Chris said the car would be street legal, but sadly he'd be wrong, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, just like the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, is a track only car, as for the tunning, for those who aren't familiar with the forza games, you can actually tune the way the car handles after you're done upgrading it, from suspension, brakes, aerodynamics, gearing, tire pressure and so on aside engine swap, forced induction, body work, and on and on, it's a relatively "complete introduction" package to get you into the car tuning world.
Btw, speaking of cockpit cameras, there is an option somewhere i guess in the gameplay options that's called "drift view" or something like it that does allow the "driver" to look where they're going, but it's turned off by default, i enabled it on my side tho some people said i gets them a nauseous somehow, so, i guess give it a try first?.
And a lot of people were hoping that the devs would add the 900° wheel rotation, but in the end they're just sticking to 180° only, which is a bit of a bummer but, decisions decisions decisions, also the game does allow you to play with manual or manual + clutch transmission ( which i personally use with my controller, LB for cluch, A for upshift and X for downshift), so a full sym is not fully necessary to kick the clutch.

Fun fact about the Lamborghini featured in the opening segment: it was purely designed to be a track-only car. It's known as the Sesto Elemento, and all the features and nuances (skeletonized dashboard, foam pads in place of traditional seats, MoTec display, and the radical design cues (aside from the swapped wing/splitter)) are stock to the car. It's on the Gallardo chassis, and was strictly meant to be the most stripped down, extreme version of what Lamborghini could put on a track at the time (2011). It only weighs 999Kg (2202lbs), and sports over 500hp being sent to all 4 wheels. Richard Hammond did a segment on it while working on Top Gear, and I highly recommend checking it out.

Something to keep in mind is that the Lamborghini modifications aren't road-legal in _all_ jurisdictions.
While it would probably be completely road-legal in America, anti-hoon legislation renders such modifications _spectacularly_ illegal to drive on the road here in Australia.
Before anyone jumps on this, it needs to be kept in mind that the legislation was introduced in order to bring a _very serious_ dangerous/hoon driving problem under control.
There's far fewer completely-empty backroads here in Australia when compared to the US, and the hoons were outright _refusing_ to go to a speedway (which _do_ exist, and _can_ be hired for an afternoon of high-octane fun), and instead were (and still _are,_ unfortunately) racing on residential streets, with everything that entails..

Even worse if it was their _parents_ ponying up the money for the mods! What the hell is wrong with you if you'l pay out thousands for your kid's car mods, but won't pay a couple of hundrd for them to use it _safely?!_

@@benjaminfinlay829 I don't condone Street racing but I gotta ask, how many race tracks are there in all of Australia? What is the closest race track to you? What are the fees? Like what Ace said, a lot of the time it's teens who don't have that sort of money or even the time. I live in Canada, I looked up my nearest race tracks, one is outside of my city, other is luckily within, the one up North is quite a bit of a drive there and back, gas ain't cheap especially nowadays. That's just getting there, what about fuel? Spare parts? Tires? My car could probably hit the track and get home fine, it's a retired cop car, reliability is its middle name, is everyone else's car able to survive that abuse and make it home without limping? If not, can the car stay there overnight? Luckily the one that is actually nearby also seems to have a drag strip, but membership costs, logistics, it adds up. Cars are an expensive hobby, let alone Motorsports as a whole. Barely accessible for most, plus it may not even be an interest of theirs.
A more relatable example for me but not for you (because airsoft is banned in Australia), why do most kids here play "woodsball" or backyard airsoft? Because a cheap spring powered clear orange tipped 250fps garbage pistol is cheap. Buy a few, call some friends over, blast each other with bb's in the backyard and call it a day. Why spend $200+ for a decent airsoft rifle, safety equipment (goggles mainly), mags, chest rig or plate carrier, and membership or entry fees just for a day of airsoft. Is it safe to blast friends with cheapo airsoft guns in the backyard? Not really, 250fps can leave bbs stuck in your skin, and most certainly take your eye out without decent eye protection, stray bb can cause minor property damage, hit random people, etc. It's like street hockey or basketball, why not just take it too rink? Go play ball at a court? Instead of having to play near the street and almost get run over because the ball bounced into the street? Cheap and accessible.
You also have people who just want the thrill, and no safety. You care about safety, I like to be safe, but what about the one person who doesn't care? Live free die young mindset? Killing is bad and obviously illegal, yet serial killers exist, will continue to exist, and will always exist. What then? How do you deal with that sort ofmindset? Better schooling? What if they just simply don't care? Terrible people exist just for the sake of being terrible. Psychopaths as some would call them. What then? Mind control? Violate human rights by having mind control technology or substances, for the sake of safety?
Correct me I'm wrong but isn't Australia currently dealing with a government that is currently TOO overreaching with lockdown protocols? For the sake of "safety", your government is violating damn near everything to the point where everyone is mass protesting?

Is this guy not a car guy? He's very knowledgeable about his area of expertise and is an enjoyable presenter, but the sesto elemento is a proof of concept kinda thing lamborghini did a while back. sesto elemento means sixth element in italian, which is carbon. It was a design exercise they did to see how light they could make it, and because of that it's based on a Gallardo instead of the bigger, heavier V12 Aventador. Which is why I thought it was weird he said "v10 engine swap" since it comes with a V10 anyways. The player didn't swap the engine for something else, and there appears to be no different v10 engine you could swap to, it's the stock engine, and the entire reason Audi bought Lamborghini a while back was for their v10. I'm just surprised he doesn't seem to know stuff like that, when almost any average car person like myself could tell you that's the case
He also mentions the dash, but this is the only lamborghini that looks like that. I just don't want people to get on horizon 5 excited thinking you can modify the interior. They made some cool changes for the game but all interiors are still 100% stock with no customization. He says it has a sequential 'box when in reality it's the same single clutch flappy paddle automatic that snaps your head every time you shift as all of their cars that don't have manuals from that time period lol
The steering wheel isn't a "mistake" it's what that car comes with. You brought on a race car driver to talk about a street racing game with street cars. I appreciate it, but that's a bit like bringing on Ray Allen from the celtics to talk about local high school basketball. He seems to think it's weird that all of these lamborghini's have lamborghini things on them, they're not super trofeo cars dude.
He said he likes all the different race car things they added to this horizon but can only point to the dash on the elemento and the sounds. The sounds definitely are better, and thank god for that, finally. If motorsport 8 ever comes out and it's still a good motorsport game, at least it'll sound good. But I can't think of a single thing they've added that makes this game more racing oriented than 4
The game actually does have (since Motorsport 6 or 7) the ability to have the guy look into the direction of the slide with settings you can tweak. I really respect T10 for doing that, it's a godsend for drifting
TLDR: That's as far as I got. This guy's cool but you could have probably found somebody within 5 miles that knows more about cars, especially since this guy's area of expertise barely factored into things, and those would be what I want to hear about. Just some criticisms, it's still awesome that they talked about cars and racing games and got a pro. It's cool that he knows Frederic Aasbo : D Man drifts a hatchback, and Papadakis Racing builds his cars. They're some of the best car guys/engineers on earth. If ya'll could get Aasbo or Steph Papadakis on THAT would be amazing. Cheers E>

note 10:15 there is actually an option to enable drift cockpit where the driver looks the way you are drifting joewon probably has muscle memory drifting/doesn't need it

when referring to the camera pointing forward whilst drifting, there is a mode, “drift cam” i believe, where you can make the camera automatically compensate for the drift and aim in the direction you’re heading instead of forwards. it does really help driving in 1st person

Actually about the Mitsubishi section, there's a setting in the camera menu specifically for the first person view called drift look, changing the value loosens or stiffens the camera look, however this may be turned off simply as player preference like how I have it, not for functionality but for footage and the awesome look of looking out the front and seeing everything go sideways.

The Lambo Sesto Elemento is actually NOT street legal, since it is too fast, according to Lamborghini themselves. It is a bit cringy what he says about the lambo, like the dash or the wheel, which are exact scans from the real car, then the physics (200mph, Corner flat out, etc) absolutely not achievable irl. Rant over!
