By then you figured out how to think like a lawyer to some degree, or should have. Cases and stautes no longer seem like they are written in Egyptian when you read them.
You are spot on about study groups. I am an older 1L, they don’t work for me. I found that law school wore me out towards the end of the 1st semester (I’m 60). I like to re-read my quizzes. In addition I found that practicing writing legal analysis was very helpful for me, especially going into finals. I feel I have a better understanding. Thanks again, you have a great story.
I don't usually comment on videos, but I wanna say you are the best bro. I wish I had come across your page in my first year of law school. I'm doing my third year which is 3 out of 4 year undergrad law degree in South Africa. I have a dream of going to Harvard for my master's degree. Thanks for these tips - no one explains best as you do!
@@tayefahmed795 yes, I am finding the my classes pretty easy, maybe it's because I have a science background, but nonetheless the classes are very fun and interesting as well.
I start Law school in August. I keep seeing videos about the importance on doing outlines. I am going to review and study how to do an outline before school starts so I can have an example. I may have a few prepared as an example of how o structure them. I have never heard of an "attack outline" though. Thankyou for this video.
Thanks a lot Julian. I just got enrolled in an LLM in the UK after studying law in France and passing the bar exam in another civil law country, and it's really difficult for me to understand how it works here. Your video helped me a lot.
You are the best content creator when it comes to law school tips and advice!!! I appreciate you sooo much 💕💕 may you please make a future video on legal research and writing (or maybe even some basic terminology to know like what even is the blue book or nexislexis or west law lol)
Could you make a video of how your schedule looked like your 1L year from classes, to studying, and whenever you would take rests? Your video was extremely helpful thank you so much.
Hey Julian, thank you so much! This is probably the best law school tip video I’ve ever seen! Could you make some videos about how to ace legal research and writing? Also, it’d great if you can do more reaction videos (to Suits, Partner Track, Billions, Industry, etc.). Take care and keep up with the great work.
Valuable insight! Your explanations are thorough and easy to consume. Your insight and advice relieved much of my anxieties. I’m a non-traditional student pursuing law school in my 30s. I’m currently preparing for the LSAT. Thanks so much Julian. Looking forward to more of your content. And best of luck to you with all of your endeavors!!!
And how exactly did you spend thhose 80 hours a week studying? If 7 days thats apprx 11.5 a day, 6 = 13.5.... And assuming you slept 6 hours a day, 1 hour for commute, 1 hour to get ready (im a girl lol) thats close to 20 hours taken up in your day.
I'm a Machinist over 40, on my second family. I was shocked when I found the law dictionary has different definitions than the language i grew up with. I'd like to re-educate myself as well as teach legal fact based information to my family. Will you recommend books or video resources that are solid for a foundation?
Julian, do you think public interest law is worth it? I have a full tuition PI law scholarship at a T14, but it comes with a 3 yr PI law commitment after graduating. Is it possible to do that, clerk, then transition to big law?
Hey Julian, do you have any advice for someone starting out at a t4/T3? The grading curves are exceptionally low but that might be a I can get into at the moment. I seen your video on how you transfered to harvard and plan on implementing your strategies
Thank you so much for this Julian ✨ I wanna share something. I'm from India, studying law. Here, a person can get into a law school just after the high school but, the law degree is of 5 years which is an A.B. and a J.D.... I am currently in my 2nd year out of 5 years.... But I passed my 1st year with only 3.2 gpa out of 4... But I have a dream of studying law in US... I wish to go to T-14 law schools for either llm or a jd again... Can you please help me is there any chances of getting in a T-14 law school with a low undergraduate gpa? Or should I work harder to achieve more? Means what minimum gpa will I be required to get into them?
For reference on each year of studying, I studied probably 80hrs a week 1L, 30 hrs a week 2L, 5 hrs a week 3L (if that lol)
may i ask why 3L was so lax compared to the others?

@@Joshokitty Mainly because grades didn't matter whatsoever, so the culture is to just enjoy life and check out of school
@@julianinlaw thats amazing... seems like law school is effectively, then, 2 years w/ a year of exploration haha
I admire your honesty. I have always despised people who pretend they did well in school by "not studying".

Glad you found what works for you. Agreed re-reading quizzes is great, for me rereading the cases helped tremendously. Appreciate the support!
Thanks! I’m just starting my 1L. This info is vital. Your hair, skin, and suit is 🔥.

Hopefully you find it easy. LLB and JD are not equivalent. LLB in Bangladesh is an undergraduate program that has direct entry from high school

Work harder! GPA is super important. For minimum I think a 3.75 would be safe for T14, but it's been getting more competitive.
