I live in the states and I ran out to the DollarTree today and bought the mop heads and bun rollers to make the pumpkins. They turned out so cute. I live in an apartment and they cleaned up all of the tree branches so I used corks for the stems. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤

Rosie - a note of caution. When I saw decoupaged candles, done in exactly the same way, I couldn't wait to give it a go. I made some beauties, but every one of them caught on fire - thankfully I was in the room when it happened. At first I thought it would be just the one, but nope - it was the same every time. What happens is that as the candle burns down, the napkin - because it's now coated in wax - remains rigid and sort of stands up around the candle. I don't know how the flame caught it, but it did. As I said, I didn't do anything different to the way you've done it - although I used a slightly narrower candle - but later I did check out some UA-camrs who decoupage candles and some of them do warn you that it's for decorative purposes only. I think you can get special decals if you want to burn the candle, but napkins can be a fire hazard.
@@Field-Meerkat I haven't tried it, but it would probably work. I've been trying to cast my mind back and now remember what happened with mine and how they caught fire. It's a bit difficult to explain but, as I said, when the candle burns down past the decoupaged bit initially the napkin remains firm. But then the heat from the flame gradually melts the wax that's holding it firm and the napkin tends to flop inwards and onto the flame. The thing that makes it dangerous is that it has residues of wax on it, and that makes it pretty flammable. It is a shame, but better safe than sorry!

I know I was doing it correctly because of the videos I subsequently watched so it can't be technique. I wonder if it might be connected to the dimensions of the candle and the size and placement of the napkin?

I do something similar with candles. I put designer logos on mine but have previously put nautical themes and sugar skull themes before..They are really nice and eyecatching when they're done. Loving the mop pumpkin idea...Rosie you really are Queen of poundland diy! 😉

Home bargains have halloween in , they were just setting it up on Saturday. They even had that Christmas planner book that you showed last year and i couldn't' get one lol :) have now. Rosie i love how only you can buy a mop head and make it look fab. I am looking for a nice mug for one of the kids he is going to be 15 this year eek to go with their pyjamas for christmas. Love the candle idea.
I love your pumpkin ideas. I agree that you do not have to spend a lot of money to enjoy the seasons. I love your napkin candles. I have also done the same way on bars of soap. Just make the top of the bar of soap flat, then adhere the napkin on the top, I then dipped it in melted clear wax but your wax paper trick may work as well! We found these to be great nursing home gifts because they could enjoy them use them and then they are gone, they don't have to worry about storing them! Have a great day!
I made these candles for the last 20 years. Just an additional tip: use masking tape and stick it to the corner of the back of the napkin. This way they separate quite easily. Don’t throw away the white layers. You can stamp them with pictures, names greetings... One year I used Christmas napkins on one side and stamped Merry Christmas from the ... Family on the back. Lovely gifts.
Awn! I really love all the ideias for Autumn/Fall/Harvest/Thanksgiving. I know isn't our tradition in England, but we always can start a new tradition in our home. I love the DIY about "Fall" I follow a few American ladys and they have amazing ideias about Fall, farmhouse, etc. xxx

Tissue candles are fab, you can also put photos on candles this way. Just print a picture onto tissue paper. Wouldn't recommend lighting them thought.
