I don't know much about League of Legends, but I love the "fuck you my lane" characters like Mal.

As a viewer of both and player of none, I notice that it seems like in HotS you get to meet your other team members more often. In LoL it seems like you do your assigned job and only come together for big fights/events every now and then, until the endgame where everyone pushes into the core. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that I noticed that style difference.
League is a lane based game and is built around that with farming and whatnot while HoTS is much more centered around objectives scattered around the map which incentives grouping up and playing more as a team which is why I loved HoTS a bit more than League
I don't know if you know Pally, but your q refreshes the timer on your dot. So if you need to push a lane you can dot, wait until it's almost up, the q and reset the door timer. Hope that was helpful, and not something you already knew

I like characters that have pets that you can throw out. Like hunters and demo locks in wow.

If you are going to poke Annie as Malz, use E instead of Q usually. It’s more mana efficient since you leveled your E first and it’s guaranteed DPS.
Malz was always one of my favorite champs.

Annie always starts with her stun now at lvl 1 without using any spells, just cuz shes played a lot as a support nowadays

Malz is awesome. Having more money is always going to give you a serious advantage. Heck, even learning to last hit better can be more worth your time than anything else. Malz cuts out the BS and just gets to the "split push and be rich".
Does this character shoot molten gold or something?
In his normal skin he gives the enemies vision of void which drives them insane. In his bee skin he throws honey in their eyes. Both sound painful.
I think the main reason I can't get into LoL is because everyone on it is just a bunch of sad sacks. If you have one bad fight in the early game your team surrenders like 90% of the time. Even though I'm sure we've all had MoBa games where you won 4v5 or came back from a game you were getting steamrolled in because you had 1 good team fight. Everyone is just in a rush to get into their next game so they can surrender again.

Malzahar was my first midlaner he's a ton of fun and easy to pick up
Later I learned Brand, but he's played much more as a support nowadays
Now I really like Anivia, and Ahri is also fun
