Being raised in a Born Again Christian family, I have little to no information about Sto. Nino. After watching this episode, I was able to know the explanations behind the celebrations of these festivals. I learned not only about Sto. Nino's religious and spiritual value, but also its historical relevance. Thank you Sir Danny for this information.

As a Roman Catholic, I have observed how people value and have faith in the Sto. Niño. Through this video, I have learned that even before, stories of miracles are famous about the Sto. Niño as well as how the image was used in rituals. The significance of the Sto. Niño in religious aspect and how it was bound on the history of the Philippines was discussed clearly. I am happy to know that it continues to affect the lives of the Filipinos positively, so thank you for the effort to share this with us.

Growing up from a religious family, Santo Nino is believed to be the baby Jesus that we should pray for before leaving the house. We also offer food and milk on our Santo Nino statue every week. With the help of this archive, I was able to understand the origin of Santo Nino. I have also realized how Magellan used religion to manipulate the people. The influence of the Spaniards on the beliefs of the people is dominating seeing as there are Santo Nino statues in almost all Filipino households. Thank you Sir Danny for this video.

It is fascinating how our ancestors practiced rituals before and believed the image of Sto. Niño is miraculous. Many Filipinos placed importance on this event which is evident until today as we continuously celebrate the Sinulog Festival in Cebu. This celebration allows us to commemorate the birth of Christianity in our country, as well as honor the first known statue of baby Jesus. Thank you again for this video, Sir Danny!

This video taught me how important this relic is. Sto. Niño is not only some relic that we, the Catholics, look up to, but a part of a historical event. Thank you so much, Sir Danny, for giving us a glimpse of the importance and origin of Sto. Niño.

Growing up in a religious family, the image of Sto. Niño has always been part of our lives. I've always seen Sto. Nio figures inside our house, as well as the homes of my relatives and friends. However, I was unfamiliar with its origins and history. And as I listen to the stories about the Sto. Niño fascinated me because it not only strengthens our spiritual beliefs but also broadens our understanding of our early culture, traditions, and habits. Through this video, I realized its profound significance to every Filipino. Not only does it symbolize Christianity's arrival in the Philippines, but it is also a reminder of how strong our faith was even before we were officially introduced to Christianity.

Thank you, Sir Danny, for another interesting video that captivates the attention of the many! The essentiality of Sto Niño was emphasized in the entirety of the clip. It has aided in a great contribution to our academic field.
As a Roman Catholic, I am well-aware of Sto Niño's image, but not his true persona. Watching the whole clip has made me realize the significance of Sto Niño - he is someone who is regarded as someone who is an embodiment of the people's religiousness. He has truly enriched the history of Catholicism in such a way that he brought miracles of the past, particularly in Cebu. He was addressed as a "diwata" for he brings rain every time the people would ask for rainfall. As a result, we celebrate the miracles and enrichments through major events like the Feast of Santo Niño, Sinulog festival, and other celebrations or colorful parades.
Relaying information on historical events like this would not be possible without the help of various historical materials. For me, despite one's religious affiliation, Sto Niño will remain significant to the lives of every Filipino as it has showcased a unique identity to our country. As we commemorate the 500th year of the beginning of Christianity in our country, this video was necessary for the further knowledge of the many.

As a child, I was always curious who's the baby figure carrying a bag and a cross in our bedroom and I tend to question my parents why do they keep on putting coins inside His bag and why is He keep getting the coins instead of me? And why do they buy clothes in a different color for Him? But as I grew older, I slowly understand. I even think that the Sto. Niño here in our house is older than me. Today, I learned new information about Sto. Niño, its history, and its relevance to my life as I slowly comprehend the world. Because of this, I recall something when my parents asked me to bring Sto. Niño with me when I go to the church for blessing. This video enables me to learn more about Sto. Niño which we have one in our home for years and I can now share what I have learned particularly with my parents. Thank you, sir, Danny!

As I viewed this episode of history of Acrchives that tackled a brief discussion of Sto. Niño de Cebu I was delighted to be part of the viewers in a sence that this episode brings me back to the time when I was still young to shown my devotion to Mother Marry and his only begotten son Jesus as one of the Filipino Christian. This episode thought me that Sto. Niño is not just a miracolous relict in the history of Filipino Catholism but as well as its significant to the central faith of most Cebuano and for all Filipino which symbolize a powerful belief in connection to Christianity. And this episode does not tackled about the religious implication but its historic relevance to Filipino's of the present, so I highly appreciated this episode.

Images of Sto. Niño can be commonly spotted in Filipino households. In addition to this, the Sinulog Festival is commemorated in Cebu every January in honor of Sto. Niño. This goes to show how influential Sto. Niño is in the spiritual life of Filipinos. Growing up, we had an image of Sto. Niño at home in which we would hang garlands of sampaguita but I only knew so little about the Child Jesus. This video was able to deliver substantial information about the origin of the devotion to Sto. Niño and how it promulgated to the Philippines through the arrival of Magellan. I realized how much Sto. Niño shaped the history of the Philippines and how it is being honored until today. Watching this video made me appreciate Sto. Nino even more. Once again, thank you, Sir Danny and to your team for sharing with us this video.

I would like to first, thank Dr. Danny and to all the staff behind this informative episode. When I was in Elementary, I knew that the Sto. Niño was a gift of the Spaniards after the baptism of Rajah Humabon. But that was the only information I knew until today that I have watched this episode. I never thought that there was more to that story. As I continue to watch the episode I have realized how the image of Sto. Niño matters to every Christian Filipino. Through this, I’ve appreciated the image more, for it truly helped the Filipinos, especially the Christians to have a more diverse culture, a great devotion ( through miracles attributed to the image) and a stronger faith.

I only know he's a saint and I see his portrait in every house I go to. This video helps me better comprehend how he enriched our Catholic faith. People regard him as a diwata because he performs miracles and sends rain when people request it. I'm still amazed at how people cherish the saint's gift to our faith and not only make it a part of their life, but also help to recognize or appreciate our resources through festival celebrations as a way of thanking the saint. I never thought a gift would hold a huge significance to our country and people’s religious beliefs. Sto. Niño de Cebu is one of the many cultures and beliefs that we still possess that manifest how we are greatly influenced by the Spaniards. Even though I have not paid much attention and curiosity to its historical background back then, I am glad that I am illuminated by this episode on how Sto Niño de Cebu is not only significant as a religious image of the Christ Child widely venerated as miraculous by Filipino Catholics but also as one of the sustaining evidence of our country’s historic event. Thank you, Sir!

Niño came to the Philippines and the different accounts pertaining to the description of the house where it was located. In this video, I learned that the existence of the Sto. Niño in the Philippines traces back to the Magellan expedition when queen Juana begged Antonio Pigafetta to give her the little wooden boy that was held by the Virgin Mother. That request was granted and that is how the Sto. Niño came into the Philippines. In conjunction, I think that the coming of Sto. I tended to collect images/relics of the latter; in which, Jesus’ pictures or any form of Sto. Niño were part of my collection. With this, I didn’t indulge myself that much in playing with toys, yet I also enjoyed those stuff. I had a happy childhood - it was not perfect but it was a wonderful childhood.
