Wonderful reaction.....Kasey didn't just 'sing' this she 'LIVED' it. Started by just softly relating that life....then the emotion comes through and finally the ANGER! ...when that happened I had my hand on my heart and tears in my eyes. Just Brilliant!!!! I hope Eminem gets to see this cover.
Amazing performance. She's totally commited to the song. The band follows her the whole way, and when they burst in they are completely there with her, at the same intensity. All that tenderness, emotion, anger and defiance is there in the original, but Kasey finds it and brings it out.
I am late to the party but must say I am impressed that you have taken the time to interact with the commenters (is that even a word), very nice. Might be a bit hard if you do a John Farnham reaction with 300+ comments but this was great. Loved your reaction to Kasey and I am sorry to admit that this song introduced me to her, I should have been listening years ago.
Never too late. I hadn't heard of several of the groups or singers that are now on the channel. There are a couple of voices especially that have become favourites of mine. It is true that I might not always be able to keep up with the comments, but I'll do my best for as long as possible. John Farnham's videos do get a lot of viewers and a number of comments - but still within my ability to respond. Thank you for watching and commenting! 🙂
thanks for reacting to this brilliant cover by kasey, i have another great aussie gem for you, try mama by billy thorpe and the aztecs live on gtk in 1971, this was the birth of pure rock in australia, ahead of it's time
This is your classic Eminem head banging banjo music that starts out like Jewel and ends with Janis Joplin. I love that she brought the listener down to a very melancholy feeling and then fermented you in that feeling. Then you actually feel the desperation when “the mood all changes”, she brings out that she uses the desperation to rise into the stars or fall to the deep depths of an ocean. Brilliant emotional trip.
This takes everyone by surprise and the slow start isn't everybody's cup of tea, some may even stop listening before the band kicks in. Despite the awesome instruments her voice holds center stage from the desperation to the anger and triumph she has taken rap and made an epic. With ANZAC day coming up has 'only 19' by Redgum been suggested a dozen times yet?
Hi Goanna, I enjoyed the whole performance. Even if there hadn't been a "kick," I would have loved it, but that was a surprise. No, I haven't had a suggestion for that song yet. I will try to do it for the 25th (which will be our 24th given time differences). Thank you. 🙂
@@rjjsreactions-rk7zh Thanks for replying, Only 19 was written about Vietnam Veterans and has become a torch shining light on PTSD and the plight of veterans not getting the support they dearly need.
Eminem is a lyrical poet, whether I like the song or not, I can appreciate his talent and skill. I'm like you, I like some, not all. This gave me chills and by the end I was emotional. She did this with her dad during lockdown, just messing around and came up with this stroke of genius. This song is hers now. No longer Eminem lol.
I used to buy fish and chips from Kasey's family shop as a young fella in Southend. She was about 10 years my junior. The whole of South Eastern South Australia is proud of Kasey and her amazing musical family. Probably my favourite song is Rattlin' Bones, with hubby Shane Nicholson.
Hi Jason, I was never a fan of rap, and I still have a lot of issues with most of it. I did like the movie 8 Mile but then I'm a sucker for an underdog fighting to succeed. I think Eminem has a lot of talent although it is often misplaced in my (not so humble) opinion. Then again, I'm not in his shoes, so I can't really say too much. Ren's music had me take another look at rap. Most rappers probably don't consider him at all, but I don't much care what others think. Some of what Tyler Joseph does in Twenty One Pilots also had me look again at rap and the possibilities it could have in the right hands. I'll probably never be a big rap fan, and their are some rappers that I won't listen to or react to because I would have to be far to critical to be worthwhile, but I'll open the door a little to peek in. Okay, now I'm writing a novel. I'll stop. 🙂

Enjoyed your reaction! Thank you for reacting to such a talented artist! This is one of the best covers of any song I've heard.
My pleasure. I have to agree that this was incredible. 🙂

It was so well done.

Hi Ian,
Thank you for your comments. I have added that song to my list. It should be coming soon!
Best cover ever. Brilliant.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. Thank you for commenting. 🙂
Epic version and performance!
It is an awesome performance, Jemxs. I agree with you. Kasey & Shane did a wonderful job on Rattlin' Bones, too. 🙂
That's her pa (her dad) on the steel guitar....
Thank you. 🙂

@@goannaj3243 Hi Goanna,
Yes, I just recorded my reaction and will upload it for the 25th. It is heartwrenching but so well done.
This was live from one of her concerts. She's an established Country singer in Australia.
Nice!

Steel guitar is Kasey's dad.
That's awesome! 🙂

Yes it is really good, and builds nicely!
I agree. 🙂

That's a cool memory to have. I was impressed by all of them. I'll have to check out that song, too. Thank you.
Watch again and just look at the organist. Guy is out of control.
You aren't kidding, Dale. He's well into it!
I'm with you on Eminem , actually you said it much politer , or in a nicer way than I would of done, am just not a fan of rap
