When reinstalling, do you install torque converter bolts then pry apart the tranny, to install the dust cover...does that jar the torque converter off of the spine???
I can't believe your doing this huge job outside not even a concrete slab. Im in a heated and ac garage and i have cussed this dam thing , there is no way that this vehicle should be so difficult to work on the transmission. I bet they use a lift and pull the body off the frame to get to all the stuff , the exhaust manifold bolts were impossible to get to especially on the passenger side, im still trying to get the starter off
I think this thing was designed by someone who used to put their finger up close and say "I'm not touching you" because of how close together everything is... unbelievable at times.
@Johnny Five The drivers side has an 02 sensor right under one of the bolts, also i didnt know there was a little speed sensor on top of the bell housing and i let the transmission come down and it ripped the 2 wires out of the plug thats still attached to the speed sensor so i have to repair that. I had to order a new pump stator and a reverse drum and a rebuild kit with steels and i went ahead and bought a new torque converter too, cost me 660 bucks for everything
Great videos! I am looking forward to the rebuild and reinstall!
I have a 2WD 01 Frontier with the 3.3. I just started to remove it stuff. Man, I hope it's not as much as a pain as the 4x4!

Can I remove only the transmission without lowering the transfer

Hello I had a few questions on the transmission first of all have you taken it apart yet?
