"Set within the haunting confines of a desecrated
monastery, the level beckons players into a realm
where darkness and danger intertwine." I think this
is their first Quake map. If so, then it's pretty nice!
NOTE: it does not look sealed, but it plays just fine.

I'd say geo is somewhat rough (as in blocky) but I love the style! Also, I wonder how those banners in the very first room (and wjndows elsewhere) shimmered in and out of view like that... Dark magic?

I think that is simply due to the map not being properly sealed, so it's not VIS-ed. VIS "calculates visibility data for a bsp file previously generated by QBSP." I betcha just sealing it would correct that!
