    I have one of these with the +Mineral filter in it and I absolutely love it. Zero complaints really, I just wish the filters were cheaper. AquaTru makes a roller-base that locks as well, so its easy to slide this to the edge of the counter to fill up large bottles.

      @enigmarocker what is the TDS of your tap water vs. the filtered water you are getting out using the +Mineral filter? I live in an area with very high TDS tap water, so the filtered water I am getting out is already pretty high.. I'm wondering if the mineral boost filter would add too much hardness/TDS on top of that

    • @stephenmoon5123
      @stephenmoon5123 3 місяці тому

      How can you be sure the mineral booster filter is working?

    • @Freshnss
      @Freshnss  3 місяці тому

      @stephenmoon5123 it will nominally raise the TDS, which is the simplest way to test. These aren't technically filters but a block of caclcium and/magnesium which dissolves back into the water.

    I’ve had mine for 2 years. The worst thing about it is cleaning the rear tank. Depending on where you live. You might have to wash the rear tank more 3-4 times a week. Otherwise the mineral deposits acummulate.

    I have the unit you used in this test. I have found after a year that the button that releases the water gets a little misaligned and then the water won't get released. I've read others have issues with this and AquaTru should probably go back to the drawing board to solve this issue. Other than that this is a great counter top unit. Also, my unit is much more noisy when filtering water than the tested unit, always has been, right out of the box brand new.

    • @Freshnss
      @Freshnss  Рік тому +2

      Hey, thank you for watching! I appreciate the feedback! I have had two of these units now and haven’t experienced that issue with the button. It’s the first I’m hearing of it. It still works and everything for you though?

    • @AquaFrost777
      @AquaFrost777 Рік тому +2

      @@Freshnss Yes, it still works. I have several other appliances on my counter so it adds to the 'clutter' I wish my husband hadn't decided he didn't want to service our under the sink unit any more. But the AquaTru wastes less water so that's a bonus too.

    • @Freshnss

    • @bigchungus6958

      I believe it does, but the holding tank is plastic... Seems a little counterintuitive to filter out the plastic only to put it back in plastic. I bought the Bluevua RO100-UV specifically for that reason.

      Lol that is a defeatist mindset. Drinking clean water is vita for health. Eating organic and local foods as much as possible is best. Of course we are not going to remove 100% of everything but that’s not the point. Drinking purified water is going to do your body a huge favor in reducing the amount of toxins it has to remove

    The AquaTru seems to be the best RO system out there @Freshnss. How do the other top rated filtration systems compare to it (using city water): 1)WaterDrop 2) Springwell 4-stage (undercounter unit) and even the 3) ZeroWater ??
    I’m interested in what’s the best for filtering out PFAs and all the other bad stuff. Not interested as much in catching big particles or how much water they can put out.

    • @Freshnss
      @Freshnss  Рік тому +2

      I would do the under sink option if possible. The Waterdrop is certified to NSF 58 standards which is the standard specific to reverse osmosis systems. It also has an integrated UV light. Check that one here: bit.ly/3S9ucYe
      And the AquaTru here: waterandwellness.com/freshnss

      0 TDS is not an indication of water purity. For example, lead and VOCs could still be present with a zero TDS reading.

    I am surprised you didn't highlight the presence of aluminum in the "filtered" sample that was not present in your unfiltered sample. -- This was also found in the testing done by BOS Water (on youtube) where both AquaTru Classic and Carafe introduced AL into the filtered samples. This seems a little to coincidental to be a fluke... which is disappointing since aluminum is highly neurotoxic

      @FillyAnne 6 місяців тому

      @bryansmalls6448 I have. They actually gave a really good response. It was quite lengthy. I can try post it all in here.
      "Hi,
      Frankly, anyone can have their water tested-from home tests they do themselves to hundreds (thousands?) places you can send your water for testing. But of what quality is the testing and to what widely accepted standards? The California EPA specifies a choice of four laboratories to qualify for certification: NSF, WQA, IAPMO, and UL. We chose IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) because it offers the best customer service and the shortest lead time.
      IAPMO is an independent testing laboratory whose mission is to protect the public and continually improve the safety, performance, and reliability of plumbing and mechanical systems. This is the accepted standard for comparison of water purifiers used by consumers, industry groups, as well as the EPA. Every water purifier that is certified to remove contaminants will have a Performance Data sheet. AquaTru has been tested and certified to remove 83 contaminants by IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) throughout the recommended filter life to the NSF Standards 42, 53, 58, 401, and P473 for the reduction of the substances listed in the Performance Data sheet. Part of the certification to NSF standards by IAPMO is to ensure all parts are safe for water contact.
      For example, to be certified by IAPMO, the filters have to go through extraction testing, which is a way to test to see if the filters leak any toxins into the water. The extraction testing standard is created by NSF to ensure we meet FDA limits as well as the strict California Prop 65 standard. Anyone can post any test results online, but we rely on the industry standard, NSF testing, and certification protocols.
      There is no aluminum used in our filters.
      This sheds serious doubt on any claimed test results regarding aluminum being added to the water. And apart from the filters...
      There are no aluminum parts in AquaTru"
