Lucky customer! I just spent an enormous amount replacing the clutch pack and mechatronic on a mk6 DSG trans. You might want to change the title of this video to “transmission fixed by walnut removal” (or something like that). Would likely get a lot more clicks.
My 2002 hyundai accent hates to go into reverse when its been parked, its a manual. I found if i just hold it then pull it further into reverse while reversing it works and even has begun to like going into reverse the first time
Just dug out a huge walnut from our mk4 Vr6 6 speed trans I was immediately suspicious since my son parks close to our black walnut tree Thanks a bunch for your video
That's really commendable Richard. I have 400k miles on my mk5 5spd brm. I had my fourth gear very occasionally pop under load crazing at 45mpg at 375k mile mark. The first time it happened I thought I was hallucinating. At the time, I had 80kmiles on the clutch. I did have a second gear synchronizer replaced about 165k miles ago. Anyhow, I think it popped out because the throw put bearing and slave were going bad. Not sure but ultimately the throwput bearing failed and I could just barely get it in gear. Looking to get a million miles on it. You are a very honest person because most shops would have charged for rebuilding the tranny. I know I wouldn't have questioned it. Just bought 4 injectors that came from vw in Germany. Took me six months to get them. The car runs like a Swiss clock but want them for when they start to go. One day at a time. Your dedication to vw family is unbelievable. Best wishes for new year. I try to tell everyone I know with a vw to watch your videos. I did it so much on FB that they started deletung my posts. Lol mark
Even so, never trust anyone not to do something. I'm a musician as well as a mechanic - I never trust anyone else with my hands! I would not put my hands near the gear linkage if there is anyone inside the vehicle, however trustworthy. I also have very big hands, so I would probably have had to take the battery tray out anyway 😂. CoolAirVw: Please don't feel criticised - we're looking after you! 😃
It’s great that you get work that turns out to be so simple, but come on! The owner could have found that on his own! 😂 I guess he thought it was a tough nut to crack!

Nice fix. Quick diagnosis.
Squirrels can wreck havoc on things, they're basically cute rats.
2nd time on two different cars.
@@CoolAirVw Where in the textbook or workshop manual does it say check for nuts?
Experience has a huge role in an efficient diagnosis.
@@davidparker9676 visual inspection.
I had that happen on a 1991 vw golf it was transmission low on gear oil
