The straight mag increases damage because it "changes the ammo type" from 9mm to 10mm. MP5's loaded with 10mm ammunition are often visualized using straight magazines which probably has some other reason but idk I'm no gun nut.
The Compact 5's (MP5) gets a damage buff with the magazine because it's a different ammo type. The MP5 usually uses 9mm, the straight magazine irl uses 10mm.
1 thing i'd add to the overview, is that infiltrator can heal out of stunned enemies so stuff like: Dire need, DB/TS shotguns, flashbangs, zapper nades even flamethrowers are all pretty handy to rebuild health.
Coming to this, I think we could also use some buffs to create more use cases for melee weapons. Make the Fire Axe and Chainsaw deal absurd damage to offset their slow swing and low concealment, for example.

I found The heavy vest to be the best trade, you can reach your targets quickly but you still keep SOME armor Altho i do not play DSOD so maybe it's useless in that difficulty

Suit, Gold Spoon because of the charge time, honestly can be switched for other standard Infiltrator weaponry. Crits, Standard melee stuff aced, convert, Shotgun skills as one would go in a double shotty build. Far away basic because you wanna actually hit the shield and sniper with the judge. Nine Lives and Swansong aced, funny mosconi moment once every few heists. It's another one of those "get in, heal for a sec, get out" while also bringing a low accuracy shotgun, designating you to be the defacto "midrange guy". Also the idea behind this was "Melee hit anything > empty mosconi into crowd > Charge Spoon > deal 900*10*(kills)*(Crit/HS Multiplier) damage to boss"
For the melee build (build 5) I have a fiew issues, do note im on console so there may be pairity issues. 1. You dont have any ranged weapons and you didn't aquire the Aced [shockproof], so if you get tased your f'ed. 2. As you yourself stated your not using the saws as weapons at all, you even don't have the [saw massacare] skill yet your running with damage upgrades on said saws. [durable blade] and [silent motor] would have been better suited for utility on them. 3. The [overdog] perk in infultraitor does increse damage by 10X for every consecutive hit within 1 second of the last strike to land. -You don't need to melee the air to remove damage buff for hostage taking, and unless you have enemies near eachother you'll lose the buff by the time you get to the next target anyway.- The final perk has a hidden +6 seconds to overdogs effect that I was not awair of 4. [Unseen strike] gives a 35% crit chance when avoiding damage but taking any damage removes the effect. - Shinsakuto Katana and Ice pick are indeed great melee weapons I however prefer Kunai Knife as its poison and melee speed is lethal even to dozers. Buzer is a good pick for taking hostages and stunning most specials but low damage for stronger units. The damage reduction perks from Infultraitor stack 8X3=24 witch is great, I prefer the healing, armor regen, and panic from Sociopath however.
taking damage removing the effect of unseen strike is a console thing, it should only reset the activation timer. the effect removal was a bug which has long been fixed on pc

For build 3, a 10% would give you 3 shot health and probably be more useful than gun nut aced
