Really wish the new zones had only starless or removed doll variants for enemies that have a starless version. Feels terrible farming Resol knowing the drop rate is abysmal and seeing Bujins frequently spawn instead of the starless variant.
Considering the lore we got before this update, I'm not surprised that Starless are similar to Dolls. The Starless bujin is one of my favorites of the new enemies, really cool changes. One thing I'm really disappointed about is that there are no skirmishes between the factions, i.e. Starless attacking the Dolls or Alts on the field/combat zones. It's clear that Sega wants you to upgrade your current gear while hunting for the new 9*. That's why we got the increase in power and why the 9* is so rare. I'm against the damage meter. The reason for that is because we already have the Battle Power. Only thing they really need to do is to overhaul the algorithm that calculates it based on your gear and readjust the battle power requirements. One thing I hoped they would overhaul with this "Ver.2" update. They should have made Gigas IV craftable from the lower tier Gigas capsules. I fully agree.
One big miss for me is that AR2 Don't drop in the new Aelio ranks. Which isn't a good step since it's either long farm or Time gate Stingy drop. Not a good tine for those who can't farm them
That is weird. We got more other sources from it via exchanges and new relentless. I think UQs also have them in drop pool now but they realyl should justsdrop in COmbat Areas too.
Not just that, but my Alli leader was needing more options for the Arms Refiner Is because you use a lot of them relative to the AR IIs. Those should be more common by now.
Can't force people to enjoy your bread and butter. Just gotta except the fact that not everyone wants that tiny hair follicle in their food, that being the fact they changed the rules to make us take longer to level our weapons. I can see now they won't stick to their guns and make it loads easier to level our weapons to cover their bs later on.
I like you guys content, but lets be realistic here. Just cause ur a content creator doesnt mean you have to present us the shit, pawned as new content, as sugar
"Who wants to be the guy who has to go to Mt. Magnus" - I totally agree. When I saw where Rod dropped, I was like thank God lol. Function over Phasion; is my Philosophy. But we can understand why because Sega has left the functions of NGS dead for quite a while, then when we need to improve that aspect, people either don't have the meseta, AC or just can't be arse because they can logically deduce Sega's track record and its pays to wait sometimes.
2:05 you can get arms refiner 2 as drops in noizen plant. 3:04 correction is that base atk power makes a huge difference in dps at least, so if you want to +70 anything its recommended to be your weapon. Especially for quests like aegis rank 2 13:05 happens in jp server too, i see players with +50 pot 4 and 1 affix gear. honestly at this point we need expert matching back.
I agree! And the expert requirement could include purple trigger solo as well as geo lab r1 solo at high settings. that would actually push some of those players into improving
@@dokutah2480 my concern would be those who could achieve that by being carried on by someone else. maybe loosen by not requiring geo lab r1 but geo lab r2 s-rank solo and purple solo s-rank which shouldn't be hard
Global never got expert matchmaking for Classic and I doubt they will ever bring it back. The proper solution is to rebalance the BP system so it works the way it should be.
@@karinhimesama I'd say require geo lab r1 but make the mobs become lvl 70, with max score since it has really strict side mission clear requirements compared to geo lab r2. That way you ensure your players are all somewhat able to dodge atks since theres hp drain in the stages, along with dmg requirements from equalising and gigas enemies as well as time limits. So if anyone lacks dmg the party would fail the side tasks, and lose the chance at max score.
my two gripes with this update are Nogleth (duh) and the fact that the new weapons don't carry enough punch to justify their rarity. Plus they're the only 9* weapon currently. I don't mind rare weapons, in fact i want them to be present, but they need to have a feeling of that rare weapon, and as it stands right now.... they're not.
8:15 maybe I'm just crazy but the bujin starless feels like it (behaves) the exact same, just with slightly modified attacks. I play MH, that was a great example to bring up... but those behaviors feel really different. Bujin feels like the exact same behavior with tiny attack tweaks.
PSO NGS caters to the casual player almost to a fault. There are the folks who want to gear up and get good and those who want to hang around the lobbies... That's the state of PSO NGS.
Its a weird directionless mix imo. The current gameplay loop promotes burnout, just look at the cost of augment trade ins for some of the meta augments currently. The problem is theirs no middle ground for attaining power, we have the lacking grind and then end game content like trinitas and duel bosses thats not a consistent reward for the time investment. Whats left is a dress up game that boils down to sunk cost fallacy. If there was more of a game/making the grind more rewarding, more people would invest into min maxing and youd see more people running the fun stuff. Sega's content with being "original" and like so many other live service games within the last decade with this mindset is expericencing the same problems. Theyve got a great fondation for a solid action rpg, but it seems they ether lack vision or are simply stifled by a aging "upgraded" engine, or a bit of both.
Resource locks are sega’s way of telling everyone they’re incompetent. “Hey we slow. Slow slow. So if you want a ride in the back you gotta slow down too.” Like bro what?! It too them 2 years to implement a simple QOL feature that should’ve been on from the start. They said things of priority could take up to 3-4 months! Thank god this game doesn’t have any pvp cuz imagine overabusing something broken, the community at its limit with it after 2 weeks, and segaust tells you you gotta bare it for a couple of months at least. Naaah…. Fxck em.
Iam be real, if thats your line of thinking take a step back. Uninstall and play something else for a bit. Value your time because no one should be that upset over a videogame.
@@KronoKatastrophy I’m good. I play the game religiously on a daily basis. Matter fact, I enjoy the game way too much even with all these issues. I’m just saying the reality of the situation is all. I think people have gotten used to mediocrity so much that they’ve normalized it to a point where these issues, which shouldn’t be issues in the first place, have become a staple in the industry. Not only with sega, but with every other company/games. Again, I’m just stating the reality of the situation. I’m nobody’s enemy.

So, I feel like I fall into this weird middle ground where I play every day, but I only really play casually for about 15 minutes and try to keep up with limited time events. But wow, I never knew we were getting a DPS meter! It's great to hear because even in Base PSO2, I never knew how much I was really contributing to Urgent Quests. And, well, I don't really do many NGS Urgent Quests because they never really felt like they were worth the time investment. Just dailies and weeklies. I just get the latest event weapon (Currently Revita), grind it to max, get the latest event Armor (Eptize), grind that to max, maybe slap some Precision 4 on each piece since I'm a Ranger... and I think "eh, good enough." (since the other slots already had augments on them) I hope I'm not part of the problem!
sorry, but you're arguing semantics about reskins. When people say reskins these days, they're mostly referring to the act of taking an existing enemy rig and creating a different enemy using the same rig. It's still very unsatisfying especially since many of these Starless use the same normal attacks and specials as their Dolls variants. People have been craving something totally new for a while now and we've had all of this buildup only to get similar enemies that can shear off a bit of your max HP if they land their attacks. OooOOOOhh that's really going to shake things up! Daityl still fights like a Daityl, you still hit his feet until he falls over and then attack his weak point, He's still got a weak point on the back except NOW sometimes a body part turns purple! His moveset is like every other Daityl with a series of wide swings, stomp shockwaves, ranged lasers and a grand scary-looking special with a different minigame. The starless aren't visually interesting either. Remember Lumenmechs? How bizarre they were when they first showed up and what a distinct enemy type they were? remember Phantasms and how strange and alien they seemed even though they were just animals and vehicles encased in ice?
Lumimechs at the start were starless in mech form. There was one boss that was kinda different then they just remade that boss 3 different ways. The point is a reskin is an actual reskin like dump when they are lazy ie nog starless. the current starless actually have new mechanics, attacks, yes they share the same skeletons but no they are not reskins not even close. And for the record semantics are in the most basic form synonyms. I'm not arguing semantics I'm arguing meaning.
I think, considering ppl are still playing like they don't know how these bosses work, that we've been fighting since release, the modifications they've been making are fine. ppl haven't gotten to the point where they're mostly familiar with how these enemies behave enough to be "bored" of them. like, ppl are still scared of bujin and kelkundo, frfr so I think it's ok. and there's a lot more you can do with the enemies we have. like which ones you fight together can have a significant impact on the battle, frfr.
It's not semantics because you're factually using the term reskin wrong. Krono isn't saying you can't be unhappy with the variety the starless offer. He also wishes we could get a new enemy race that's entirely new. However you need to temper your expectations, rigging is very difficult and annoying to do. Literally any game you go out and play will re-use skeletons to save dev time. Asset flipping isn't some shameful practice that cropped up in the last decade or two. The only thing that has changed on the gaming landscape is how "in the know" people are when it comes to dev processes. Starless for the most part have new attacks, new visuals, and new mechanics. (both damaging your HP/PP as well as a breakable core that disables some of these things.) Again, you're more than welcome to want more. All is being said is that the term "reskin" does not apply here. You can make the argument you want to make without misusing terms.
I've seen quite a few creators complain a lot about the gear that the players have. While I won't complain about the people complaining about it. I will point the blame at SEGA, not the players. And trying to shuffle the majority of the blame on players for that, isn't going to cut it. It's (at best) 70/30, the fault of the company. Why? Because the players are stupid. Any game developer will let you know that (at least in the West), you have to lead the horse to water, chain it to a pole and then wait for it to drink said water. If SEGA hasn't picked up on that by now, then - as bad as it sounds and as much as I love this game - they weren't prepared to release this game to a Modern, Global Audience. For example: when cosmetics costs SO much and you have to choose between spending Meseta (Money) on cosmetics or spending it on Weapons... most folks are going to choose the cosmetics. Even worse if you are free to play. Why in the heck would you spend Meseta grinding up and then augmenting a weapon, that might be made "obsolete" by the next Seasonal Weapon event? If you pay attention to the small stuff, you'll realize that the weapons we make are always better than the ones we're given for free at these events. But in a game where "Fashion is the Endgame" and upgrading weapons takes away from that and isn't interesting (back to that one later), it's easy to see why people aren't upgrading their weapons. Also, that includes Armor, which is even more boring than weapons. (Also, making Meseta in this game isn't super straightforward. People just do their dailies and weeklies and then go chill in town/creative spaces. They're not grinding Meseta.) Next point: SEGA doesn't do a good job of incentivizing better weapons besides upgrading your BP and getting to max level. Keep in mind that "upgrading your weapon" is just a boring percentages going up. 3% here. +10 HP here. You know people ain't playing this game to do math. Upgrading your weapons doesn't look cool and there isn't a visual sign of getting stronger. In most games, you get stronger and you can SEE that. You can't see that in NGS. When you get a new weapon in Final Fantasy 14, it does more damage, it looks cool and it can be used as for cosmetics. When you get a stronger weapon in Monster Hunter, it comes with crazy ass effects, like poisoning the monsters, or Life Drain... or a risk reward system of your health draining for a DPS boost. The latter might also come with a visual effect. In NGS... you got none of those. Same for your armor. Nothing changes, but numbers going up. That's... not something people some people are going to want to do. Heck, at least with the NGS community. It's not what they're here for. If battle was the main draw of NGS... well, the update we got in June would have been a bit different. I don't necessarily like it, but calling out the fans for not wanting to upgrade their armor and weapons in a game, where the combat is definitely secondary, is sadly a hard miss. And again, don't forget people have to choose between cosmetics or weapons. That's on top of upgrading weapons being nothing but boring math. Also, maybe Battle Power needs to be looked at again? It had one job: keeping people with the wrong gear out of content they are not ready for (or stopping people who aren't strong enough to complete the content, from getting into the content.) If BP isn't working properly, that's on SEGA. It needs to be tuned better. Considering how seasonal weapons are only "good" for seasonal content, maybe they give boosted BP for the season, and then the BP drops back once the seasonal is done? That way, people don't go into regular content, using seasonal weapons and thinking that is okay, because the BP system doesn't seem to consider the difference between seasonal and "standard" weapons. Oh, and that change I am suggesting will probably take 6 months minimum to be implemented, because Sega works at a snail's pace. So as someone whose been playing PSO2, NGS and Phantasy Star games for awhile, I can see that there are a lot of problems currently with the general playerbase & their gear. But I will never blame someone for having bad gear, if they can get pass the Battle Power requirements. SEGA has made this an issue of the game's design. They have to design for the lowest common denominator. And that can get pretty damn low. Of course, people can try to teach the community better, but folks can't be surprised when that doesn't happen. But who knows? Maybe the community can fix this issue themselves somehow? You never know. But just calling out the players isn't enough. I'd be trying to address this to SEGA first.
I'll agree to disagree. You're going to get players who cannot be helped for whatever reason, there's no escaping it, I can give a myriad of examples but this comment would be a lot longer than it needs to. At a certain point, it IS the players fault. As for gear progression since you bring up FFXIV, the same thing applies in literally every RPG with gear progression, NGS included. The higher the rarity or level, the better it's going to be. There's a reason why weapons in most MMOs are called nothing but stat sticks. The only added thing on FFXIV which is nice since the Golbez EX weapons for example, do look really nice and clean, is that once you get a better weapon, and you will eventually, if you like the look? You can save it as a cosmetic in the glamour dresser which I wish NGS could do that with their weapons instead of having to wait until a weapon camo for it comes along. Krono isn't wrong about the players not wanting to upgrade their weapons. An alliance member of mine just had an Aegis run take 30 minutes(I still wonder how that's even possible, but now I have an idea) and everyone was using trunkuls, hell let alone, kaizaar, like dude, it's time to ditch those and get better weapons, especially when said upgrades are REALLY easy to get. Mess around in creative spaces and go touch trees and get GP to get enough GP for 5 integras, go get that first time clear of geo lab R2, set the modifiers in your favor and get 5 integras and PICK a weapon of your choice. If you're using those and think takes forever, well no shit, look at your murder stick of choice and you're bringing it to current content. It's like wearing Cryptlurker in lvl 90 content on FF.
Your point about reskins is very condescending. People are tired of seeing DOLLS type enemies, because a lot of players have never felt those enemy designs were very interesting to begin with and they've been fighting them for two years non-stop. It's more than fair to label the new Starless as reskins to make a point of how sick and tired players are of seeing the same type of enemies over and over. Going "tHeY'rE nOt ReSkInS yOu GuYs ThEy HaVe NeW aTtAcK" is not going to change that, it's just absolutely missing why people are frustrated about the game currently.
You cannot compare mh to ngs considering the people behind these fights are completely different in terms of design and fight philosophy, but i agree with your case in some regard. Its not an excuse for the 90 variants of daityls though.
The principal still applies. A Stygian Zinogre is not the same as a regular Zinogre, in the same vein a Furious Rajang is not the same as a normal Rajang. Also not to mention, it's in the lore the dolls are based off the starless to prepare us to fight against the starless.
@raevenent751 The principal lies in design interaction between Hunter and Monster in mh though..... in NGS, there are no blights, statuses, or elements that actually affect the interaction between player vs. mob to the extent that mh does with it, leaving the fights all feeling samey. It also doesn't help that within 2 years we've gotten a regional version of the guys on top of their veteran, giga, vera, gold, silver versions that are plastered through out every instance of content that you do. So again it doesn't excuse the amount of recycling they've done. You can't really fault anyone for feeling this way, especially if you think about the stage sega set for this update. It's underwhelming
@@kDallas_ What? There are statuses in NGS, and elemental interactions in the form of downs, have you not seen or been set on fire, poisoned, frozen, or injured from Starless, or seen some bosses in the UQs get elemental downed?. I'm in the same boat with a lot of people that ver2 is a bit underwhelming, but I also at the same, time, have to call a spade a spade, to say that none of these exist is factually incorrect. And in MH(Haven't played rise yet, only world) you can ignore blights completely unless it's a dragonblight, but if you're using a Fatalis weapon or a raw damage weapon before hand it didn't matter.
@raevenent751 I think you read what I typed wrong. It says" to the extent that mh does with it" I'm not trying to debate whether or not NGS has these things in place that can be advantageous, I'm saying that they have all of this but they don't use it well.... and yeah after a certain point in mhw you can ignore most of that stuff completely but that doesn't deter from the fact that it is there and can be of use while simultaneously not always being a thing ( if that makes sense 😅). What makes this more apparent is how the game is designed, which is detrimental to said depth cause why bother if you can just counter/ sidestep everything... I understand where you and others come from though truly.
That is so stupid though we were complaining about the enemies being the same for 2 years. And they could have you know made them similar, not the exact same. Like you practice for tests in real life by reading and solving similar problems. But then when you get to the actual test, it combines all the information you learned in various ways, and doesn't ask the exact problems you solved from the textbook. But NGS told us problems to solve with the solutions in the back for practice, then printed out those exact same problems when making the actual test.
This may include story spoilers! In regards to the reskin opinion, looking at the starless from a story prospective it makes sense 100% that they are very similar to the dolls we faced. I mean we just found out that doll were created in order for use to prepare for the starless. Which is why they behave in a in a similar way. The dolls behaviors would have been based off thr starless.
its still hella lazy development. It just feels like we're fighting the same enemies for 2 years, which they're gonna make us fight for another 2 years while they recycle all 4 region once every 3-6 months. Everything the put in this game feels like bare minimum indie effort, but SEGAs worth billions.
@@emanuelporter806 other games are at least fun and engaging and dont throw away their entire series for shitty a open world concept they dont know how to use.
@@Opalthira you do realise other mmorpg creators have reskinned enemies right? Even wow and ffxiv are guilty of this. Also whilst sega is the one owning the ip of phantasy star, the phantasy star team is the one handling the development. Just because sega is worth billions doesnt mean that money goes to the devs.
On the reskins the new starless really dont fight that much differently. Its nothing to the point where I have to change how i play at all vs them. (Though that goes for most ngs enemies given how easy defense is) at most the blue spots on boss enemies are what you want to attack. Beyond that? Same thing. Funny you bring up rathalos because blue rathalos, idk whats different about it aside from stat changes. Like not even like pink rathian where I can go and say well it has the spin tail flip that destroys new high rank hunters left and right. And when you bring up dreadking and mhrise apex rathalos A: its 100% obvious the rise apex monsters are just deviants under a new name and slightly different lore. All of them are just deviants. And B they are design wise, to rathalos what pettas gun is to pettas vera. However same can not be said with the dolls and current starless enemies. You gonna tell me you are gonna fight the sword starless any differently than any of the other sword dolls? Same with the daityls? Oh it has a blue spot you can hit on it for more damage? Its like any of the dolls we got prior to any of the newer dolls. It gets 1-3 new attacks. And thats about it. People are fully justified in being upset the starless are more of the same because they kinda are. Now part of this is segas fault. If ngs had weaker defense mechanics, then the move set changes would matter. But they are so strong as is, there won't be much to make them more diverse enemies to fight than their forefathers. Soaring blades is probably the only weapon you'd have to change how you play from enemy to enemy due to how its defense options work. Maybe talis too if you for some reason play solo talis but with the benefit of range its also likely not too much different.
I was just thinking " good, Im already doing everything he's saying, i'm playing the game right ". Then he said " be social " and I was like " sigh " xD
They need to give us craftable weapons again like the Kaizaar. I don't know why they just chuck that out after they put us all in that grind for months. Now that quests and Rayjord gorge is useless. They should give us an upgrade path for the Kaizaars, craft them to 9* that completely redesign them potential wise. We have that back in the base game days. They should put it back.
Well we complained alot about kaizaars being a pain to craft along with kouklopis being outdated by crystias. Then again who knows if sega reintroduces weapon crafting for a new line.
Bruh its still a fucking doll at the end of the day. Spin it how ever you like. Like bruh the Photon Fleet was more imaginative than starless. I see a big doll i see reskin. You can try to define this as much as u want. We get it. The dolls are training dummies to the starless but at the end of the day ITS A FUCKING DOLL lol. Edit: I'll behonest I agree with the last bit you said but can disagree. Im super social on ship 1 XD probably also the problem child but at the same time the combat content in this game just doesn't feel rewarding enough to push me. I honestly wish we had dungeons as a motivation it feels like im trapped in a cycle and get bored easily. Do I need to upgrade my gear yeah. Do I feel motivated enough no. I met people in this game who dont have the motivation, others do. Honestly the reward system in this game gets so discouraging sometimes say what you want. I feel more motivation when they handed out items that could turn into tickets on base vs what ever the fuck we doing now. Its more of a trapped cycle of gameplay its almost like were playing Black Desert online without the deep gameplay.
Im ok w the similarities between starless and dollz..im NOT ok with dollz and starless working together..that is silly DOLLZ should been shut down..or maybe zephetto shouldve ised his endless army to u know..fight the enemy...
ive seen dolls and starless butting heads against each other before i show up, which is when they started to focus on me instead. Idk if i can confirm that tho.
one of the biggest flaws with pso2 is that even since base game, there has been a lot of ignorance in the player base, and its partly due to the game not really teaching people how to play properly i think. now that we're in ngs i think its just gotten worse with the player base getting smaller and as a whole the playerbase is not getting smarter because the game isnt very lively. tho i guess this can still be an issue in bigger games too, so maybe im just getting a little too doomer. anyway this is one of the reasons i subscribed to your channel, this playerbase needs people like you getting the facts out there
That's an issue in every game, a game can and will teach you how to play and the basics, but the optimization, how to play the class, etc. comes down to the player. There's a famous saying in the FFXIV community, *"Read your tooltips"*. The information is quite literally there, if you're unsure about certain effects and wanna maybe get a better understanding, take it to the field and test it. There's is strike in Destiny called the corrupted, that involves the ball mechanics, the amount of times I've heard "tHe GaMe DoEsN'T tELL yOu" and it's 5 years old is unreal, cause if it's your first time doing the strike, there is a tutorial that takes up a pretty good chunk of the screen telling you abou the mechanic. And also the infamous "Press your buttons" on FFXIV. There are tons of people that overlook a skill thinking it's not needed like Esuna, when in actuality, it can be the difference between dying and not dying, but then there are mechanics where healing to full health will not cleanse a doom, and only an esuna will, I have seen so many players at lvl 90 that will not use esuna and will argue it's a dps loss when in actuality, using swift cast on a res(Which is on the GCD mind you), and then having to wait for the person to respawn, they need to be healed enough because a raid wide will kill them since nowadays they're throwing bleed effects on them is a *bigger* dps loss. There are some people that no amount of explaining in game can help them, at a certain point, it can and will be the players fault.
@@raevenent751 God don't remind me of Esuna. The amount of times I died to a debuff because the healer didn't have Esuna on the hotbar. I'm not a healer main (I like Machinist because gun) but I always put Esuna on my hotbar for healers
@@raevenent751 Only the Aegis weapons were unsellable, and I loved that. Actually gave me a reason to farm the game for good gear but they've sadly done away with that again it seems. Now we're stuck with the ridiculous prices of the player shop. I also don't enjoy running bursts for a slim chance at the new weapons
@chelsthegameruiner8669 It's because anytime we get a weapon we could craft, like the kaizaar series, ppl always complain. I didn't mind the grind cuz it gave me reasons to actually play this game.
Mmm yes, the Starless Pettas are slightly different from the Aelio Pettas, and the actual new enemies are pretty cool, better mindlessly spam the same abilities we always spam. I think the problem is the combat itself, because fighting the starless feels no different than fighting anything else. The only thing I will give Rasetsu is the caltrops attack, nice mild area denial move. Herzig does have the pillar thing, which is cool, but not much else going for that boss. I really like Halvaldi, sucks that it's limited to the duel quest.
The lack of gearing was really noticable sometimes on the upgraded DFA runs. Although now we have Zephetto making things easier again. The difference between running this with pugs and with my friends was night and day. I'm confused about the reskin part, though. I've always called them a reskin because of appearance alone (And if they were showing almost exactly the same behaviour, I just called them a copy paste). I'm usually not bothered by this if their behaviour makes up for it, which is what most of the starless did. But if that's not called a reskin, what is it called then?
I like when people use terms with its real meaning to describe things so everyone its on the same page. However I also like to understand why people feel a certain way. Why are people upset and calling enemies reskins? because some people are tired of sega recycling so much content and lack of innovative ideas, it feels very lazy. One thing to point out and everyone is gonna have to suck it up is that the whole story of ngs is built in a way that the lore supports the recycling of enemies. In summary we were fighting enemies that were artificially created to mimic the real enemies to train us for their incoming threat. Cool story but the consequences of that idea and implementation of it sucks, that's just story wise, any one that has played the game for a while can see how much SEGA rely in the concept of recycling content in many areas and tbh its on the excessive side, thats the real reason why people call the enemies just a reskin.
I like Magnus more now if only because I like the new Daityl warrior. He's pretty metal. XD The new item drops and their rarity is a bit of a headache, but for separate reasons. For augments it's just we need 300 Sovereign for one 70% chance on the new augment that's like... maybe as good as Halphinale? The notes aren't an issue, sure, but I'm likely to sell any of those I make, not use them.... and honestly with new weapons that same issue applies. If I get one and can sell it, I feel like that's more likely what would happen. I'm more just wishing they'd do this whole 'unique potential' idea with all weapons, including ones they can expect people to get. It's the one idea they have with potential toward more build variety... when they remember to not include one that boosts damage more than the others, which I think they may have forgotten in this set because one of the potentials seems to do that... but I want to see more distinct potentials on all weapons.
While i wasn't aware how the exp buff currently worked with the primm swords and havent complained about them publicly, i will say the steep change in exp needed to buff your weapons is one of the most ridiculous things they done so far. Theyre literally trying to prolong this patch by giving a larger exp gap when it comes to weapons. At least lvling your classes are the same if not easier due to the new series hunt. Other than that, this ver2 is looking bleaker still.
"re-skin" is when instead of making a new ennemy, you take an old one and reskin it to act as new! Rathalos no matter what type, is still a rathalos type ennemy not a reskin pretending to be something elses!
Pretty much. I dont mind the starless (tho for krono's compaint about starless nogleth, i dont think removing enemies is a good idea as that would just give incentive for the community to yell at the devs to remove stuff instead of changing it.)
Thank you for elaborating on these pointless complaints I see. Yes the reskin does hold water but not on all Starless kinds. And we are all technically canonly practicing on defeating imitations of Starless so far too so it made sense it is kinda similar.
Maybe it's just been awhile but my melee potency before the update was at 106. I maxed my gunblaze to 70 and broken only one armor piece for the 6th slot. Added 2 new caps that only Gave me a total of 5 potency as an overall. For some reason my melee potency went up from 106 to 127. Did the level 70 weapon do that? If so that's an amazing buff.
Potency is calculated multiplicitivily not additive. I'm probably gonna stick stira domina on my units and a tripible II on my weapon. Wait for a better unit to put they new augments on.
okay are there like diffrent types of ajax armor cause i just bought mine on the shop for like 40-70k a pop, i mean they say lvl 70 so i assume im on the right track for armor right now
Right off the bat..the gold armor2 drop enough..and are pretty affordable..since u only need 10 to get the extra Aug slot.i dont see a problem..the swords are more expensive..but again only need ten for extra aug..+70 u can just chip away at..
Slayers been cursed not having anything good added with skills rebalance/update and now must suffer on Mt. Magnus for indefinite time. Sega is just cruel.
No where near as cruel as what they did for tech weapons on the new 9* weapon series. 30 PP everytime you get hit? So then does that mean if you get set on fire or poisoned you loose 30 PP per tick? I don't know who hurt them but for some reason they decided to choose violence in that regard.
Some people on JP are under powered for DFA but the clear times are still no longer than 22-27mins with the worst groups, they are probably late on limit breaking and adding the 6th augment I'll give it a week and hopefully people get off their asses. I could understand why some people on base game had a hard time with the affix system but NGS has one of the most brain dead gearing systems in an mmo. I took a break and only came back 1-2 days ago and got my potency to 142.2% but you can get at least over 100-115 with budget affixes so I will never understand those kinds of players, it's a very selfish and Ahole thing to do if you aren't pulling your weight in an multiplayer game.
Didnt know the lvl went up when i Did a UQ yesterday. we were in a dps check and every1 went down except me. I was dumbfounded as Ive never seen this before. Took my brain a second to process what happened and hit revive. I was lyk thts why hes taking forever to go down lol
@raevenent751 yo lyk it aint tht hard to get a neo A lyk at this point u should have had atleast 1 no prob. I can back to the game n last weapon I had was a Kaizaar. Was able to get the neo a b4 they started dropping aegis lyk candy n beefed it out too with minimal effort or grinding
Monster hunter has variant monsters but the difference is the overall gameplay mechanics for them typically are better. In a more complete package. I see what you are getting at but that feels a bit more like hopium. Monster hunter will have dozens of different monster types AND varients with their own weapons and armor that come with them. Not just a new capsule and maybe a new weapon type to pair 😂😭
Thank you it's really not hard to see that the comparison between the two is bad lol specially now that we have the 5th gen mh games, people don't really get it here it seems 😅
Nah, trying to say MH cannot be compared/used as an example is just a cop out. Just because Capcom goes a bit more in depth with how different variants are doesn't mean the base concept doesn't apply. Both games use variants heavily. Just as many other games do. It's nothing new.
That monster hunter example explains the starless perfectly. I still remember fighting dread king and going “wait why is he moving like that?...” before carting. People really should appreciate the nuances more.
@@raevenent751 I'm not sure honestly, I know FFXIV has FFLogs but trying to navigate it is a damn nightmare. I also don't think it's very accurate but I also follow the philosophy of "if we beat it, then it's fine." That philosophy is probably why I don't have a static despite being invited to multiple groups in Endwalker. I'm just not the type to chase what hardcore players deem to be meta, I'll stick to my baby Machinist (and yes, I'd 100% hug my character's gun if I could)
@@raevenent751 they're pretty accurate but they can't take overkill into account. for instance, if you Braver Combat a mob of 15 enemies you will have higher DPS count than if you just kill it with 1 PA, but how much faster was that if the mob is weak enough to die to 1 PA. But parsers are a great tool for bosses like in Urgent Quests, Purple triggers and so
"Everyone makes mistakes." Yeah. We have been playing Segas biggest mistake for over 2 years now. And some people still dont wanna accept which direction this Fashion Si....ahem i mean "game" is going.
In all honestly, most of the augments need to be removed. The "illusion of choice" is pretty bad with this game, considering there are very few "right" ways to build anything, and the correct ways cost an arm and a leg for most players who aren't on this game constantly. Yes, there are budget builds, and that is what most people are going to run. I run a budget build as I have not been too fortunate with drops augment wise and I am not paying 2 mil per capsule. We can blame players all we want but it isn't fixing the issue. SEGA has all of these extra augments that you should just not use and they make the needed augments very rare and therefore very expensive. The augment system kinda failed since there are correct and wrong ways to do it, so maybe just scrap it and put something in its place; again, if there is only one correct way to do something then why are there other options just to screw with the player base? These systems are SEGA's failing, not that the players are completely without blame, but I can give them the benefit of the doubt where with SEGA I cannot.
I was watching alexwest and he was suggesting to merge the prim IIs but then he did the math after I asked if it is actually worth it(remember you pay extra on xp upgrade per item added) and it is not a good idea for meseta and ngrinders. Also don'Prim II's are money but even more insane are Strugments. Good time to PSE farm. OMG "reskins" topic is annoying. Reskins are just a different colour enemy that old JRPGs had a lot, most funny was in the gameboy games Final Fantasy Legends where the recolours had the same colour cause GB palette. It's actually so cool how the enemies evolve in this game, often to counter how we previously fought them like Sand Nogleth getting a ground AoE attack cause we justs tood under his head in Aelio. People rather use 3 paid dolls to revive than level their main to 75 and get a 6th augment slot. It's insane.
Wait, wait, wait people feeding primm 2 to each other and complain? Wow, I mean I upgraded them too, but with usual primms +20-30 I had... Just to clear some space in storage. >be social Oh devil please no, no, nooooooooooooooo.
Final thought..yhis game is so easy to get a solid gear set..u dont need halphanile and 2 mil meseta augs..eben the new addis are cheapish for wars meltech...if u dont have the cash..play the game and make some..
This ^ People don't realize this but you can by with ghetto shit. Need money? Farm geo labs r2. Halphinale can be a good source of income due to it being 1mil+ per capsule, and yes, people DO buy those
Ive seen some stuff man. Yesterday took the cake for me, person had no augments on their weapon. Idek how you do that. Still was a fun run, easy to feel like the carry when youre the only one with upgraded gear.
On the Starless enemies. I was first a little WTF this is just a Nogolith. But then I thought wait a minute. The DOLLS are literally made with the intent of literally training you to fight the Starless. It makes massive sense that there are similarities between them to me. And yeah maybe not the most efficient and I'm not close to running best in slot augments on a gunblaze but I'm running a glassy high DPS ranger and often feel like I'm doing way more damage than most.
I don't really see how anyone is undergeared given we've had events spammed every month with free weapons and they cost nothing in the store and if you really wanna be lazy you can just buy them with the upgrade pack. They might not be BiS, but they'll get the job done. It is a lot more more important to understand class dynamics and how it plays, I think a lot of people don't understand effective/total DPS. Some people have absolutely no clue how to do DPS in their rotation or which skills are even single target focused. I'm sure you remember, but base PSO2 had a death-limit, meaning randoms could tank your run within 5 minutes and you miss out on the entire UQ. Which isn't fun, but eh, the trade off is 360 AOE revives that everyone has 5+ of making it very hard to wipe unless it's a mass AOE which even then someone is bound to push I-Frames.
Since I slotted for the first set of duel quests I haven’t felt like re augmenting my armors and weapons again. Too much work and meseta. I have to get money back first. So I’m n worried about grinding the current content until around august.
@@Michael-go4ix No, I've been doing it forever, an even did it just recently. The only way it can be against ToS is if you did RMT. And unfortunately, this is where they're a bit draconian with it, doesn't matter how long ago it happened.
@@raevenent751 i emailed support they say i used offensive language, and thats why they perma banned my account, whatever ill just play final fantasy then
Yeah AR2 needs to have the weekly limit removed entirely and added to the new Aelio combat zones drop tables. I need 40 to upgrade all the gear I use across the 6 classes I play at least.
My mains got Gunblaze + 60 and 7* units +60 with 5 augs each because I haven't gotten a 9 star wep yet, but I know I keep my characters geared even though it breaks my bank every time. xD
just recently transferring to ship 1 from ship 4, and already profits around 20mil just 2 days lol, most of them come from the stuff I had in ship 4 before, but the gold primm II high value and how fast it sold are totally blasting the list of items that I sold lol
I think it's time for ppl to put more thought into gearing. And no, you don't need the expensive augs to deal damage to enemies. I'm sitting around 114 % potency with the bare minimum, using the efitus armors that were given to us back in the launch of stia. It should be easy to reach at least 100 % potency, even more so with a 6th slot at our disposal. Invest some time on gearing to make the most profit before it's too late.
They should have had a "top damage ranking" at the end of every urgent quest from the beginning. This is why everyone hates mining rig, because normies don't understand aggro or the mini map
Some weapon classes are far out better than others. Also, you'd be competing with whales who will have the best of everything. Just too many variables to have that sort of thing.
Imagine complaining about upgrading gear in a game with vertical progression / gear grind LOL I have to admit, there's not much to look forward to this patch, especially since the quest that was supposed to want us to upgrade was pushed back to August, but HOLLYYY mother I have had some runs that took forever, and I get that it's enough for some people to clear in 30 minutes, but you could at least think of other people's time and boosters, right? Guess that's too much to ask for some people. Last note: If you truly have an issue with how gear is coming out then you should check out MMOs with other types of progression (GW2 is a good example of a horizontal progression system), since SEGA won't be changing one of the core design philosophies of a 23 year old online series any time soon.
@@zelohendricks51 Not at all, what I meant is that learning game progression and making more efficient use of your time while having fun is totally possible and leads to less than 20 minute clears, which overall is better for everyone! I don’t really get what you mean by value their time less, since the only way you would see it as getting less value from learning about the game was if you never cared about the gameplay to begin with.

There was monster variants in pso1, rem ULT mode? They had the "the boomas and other enemies have same move set" as thier original version but they were faster and thats it. I like this starless enemy type, its different, Im ok with this.🎉
This new upgrading system seems interesting and a bit challenging untill you take account multi class or various caracters, about enemies they are a bad design specially dolls.(like for example what i consider enemies having'' features boss like ''placed on normal enemies draging out combat for longer and making boring)
I skipped gen u when it was on 3ds I now have it on switch there’s Al’s azure rath and silver rath and then theres frontiers rath that’s while and blue that does light damage combined with fire and lightning
o god Krono i remember all of the bad gear check back in base for TPD it was so bad that why i nerve clear it i just nerve got an team together that was gear to clear it.
I usually avoid rants because its like being told you choices suck therefore you suck... ...but this, i can get behind and understand. I assume the dumb chatter is from twitter as well? Also id laugh if sega brings in enemies using draconian, phantasm and lumimech skeletons and people complain about it being reskins.
It's sad when I see many players do nothing but hold a single button for the entirety of urgents. Sega designed "Smart PA" for a reason and these refuse to use it. Some don't even read their skills and we get "maximum allowed distance gunners" who don't understand how their PAs works or know about fall-off damage. :(. Some may have good gear but that is not enough to make up for their lack of interest in the game. This is a very common sight among westerners in action games.
Really wish the new zones had only starless or removed doll variants for enemies that have a starless version. Feels terrible farming Resol knowing the drop rate is abysmal and seeing Bujins frequently spawn instead of the starless variant.
Facts, the drop rate might be about 0.1%😭
23 minute Aegis but nobody else had +61 and only a few pot 6’s. Now it’s finally starting to bite them.
Yup and once aegis rank 3 ques up people are checking your gear and if your half assing around people are gonna flat out leave.
Not a good tine for those who can't farm them
THIS IS WHAT GOOD FEEDBACK LOOKS LIKE!
That is weird. We got more other sources from it via exchanges and new relentless. I think UQs also have them in drop pool now but they realyl should justsdrop in COmbat Areas too.
@@moreOddThanNess They still drop only in Neusen Plant for some weird reason. Like seriously, who gonna go there now?
Not just that, but my Alli leader was needing more options for the Arms Refiner Is because you use a lot of them relative to the AR IIs. Those should be more common by now.

Especially for quests like aegis rank 2
13:05 happens in jp server too, i see players with +50 pot 4 and 1 affix gear. honestly at this point we need expert matching back.
I agree! And the expert requirement could include purple trigger solo as well as geo lab r1 solo at high settings. that would actually push some of those players into improving
@@karinhimesama I agree on the requirements, but we can maybe loosen them to party play at least because some people are unable to solo.

I'm casual. I don't make much an effort but I meet power lvl and I don't care what others think. Whine to Sega not me. I don't care.
8:15 maybe I'm just crazy but the bujin starless feels like it (behaves) the exact same, just with slightly modified attacks. I play MH, that was a great example to bring up... but those behaviors feel really different. Bujin feels like the exact same behavior with tiny attack tweaks.
I pretty much stopped complaining about video games if i like it i play if i dont i take a break and come back
PSO NGS caters to the casual player almost to a fault. There are the folks who want to gear up and get good and those who want to hang around the lobbies... That's the state of PSO NGS.
True 😂
I'm a casual player and hate the direction NGS has taken since day one.
@@solblackguyMe too. Agreed.
@@Freekillable Stop fooling yourself about the foundation. NGS is a casino with occasional game mechanics.

I hope I'm not part of the problem!
sorry, but you're arguing semantics about reskins.
Wasnt there phantasm that was falspawn base? I mean with the starless at least they have additional moves.
People will drop 20 mil on cosmetics but not even 2mil to get their gear ready for the content that's out.
People in this game would rather blow all their meseta to play dress up than the actual game. It's quite sad.
People on ship 1 want +100 million for the rank 9 weapons. Wtf man?!
On the topic of reskins does NO ONE remember planet Amduscia from base pso2, literally every mob but the boss is a reskin of the prior areas lmao
I wont be surprised if people complained about reskinning new enemies using the luminmech skeletons.
Meanwhile on Dark Souls for skeletons: Human. And Doggo
Its why i think ilevel system like in WoW or FFXIV are a good filter for barring people from entering content tbh.
fucking this ^ this game tries to big brain potency and numbers but ill be honest. Im more sweaty on ff than here on this game.
They're not grinding Meseta.)
Next point: SEGA doesn't do a good job of incentivizing better weapons besides upgrading your BP and getting to max level.
SEGA can make 200 cosmetics a week, they can make the enemies look different
At the very least I like that I have more things to do than AFK in lobby.
@@kDallas_ Oh nah, I still remove my debuffs in MHW despite being at the endgame. It becomes a force of habit basically
We already have Cradle, it's called Alnothe.
I got slapped by the new Starless tenfold, then I was like, Oh, GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
and you've said basically everything I wanted to say! good video~
What kills me about the starless complaining . . . Storyline wise the dolls were made to mimic the starless . . .
No spoiler warning needed, game doesn't let you run the new ranks if you haven't finished chapter 5 :D
its still hella lazy development. It just feels like we're fighting the same enemies for 2 years, which they're gonna make us fight for another 2 years while they recycle all 4 region once every 3-6 months. Everything the put in this game feels like bare minimum indie effort, but SEGAs worth billions.
@@OpalthiraIs this your first time playing a game like this? You two decades late.

Have to admit I didn’t think AR and AR2 would be what timegated me 😂
Also appreciate the Dreadking 😅
Noglath only wanted to fit in with the starless xD
Yeah I was kind of surprised how low some people were. In pso2ngs. During dark falz urgent quest.
Idk if i can confirm that tho.
we did pull off a 10 in r3 and 16min aegis with lv60 weapons but the extra augment on armor helped out a lot
I think one of the reasons why they limited the Prim Sword II's and Prime Armor II's in the shop is because people can make money off of it.
Gold prim sword 2s are worth 600-900k a piece on ship 3.
one of the biggest flaws with pso2 is that even since base game, there has been a lot of ignorance in the player base, and its partly due to the game not really teaching people how to play properly i think. now that we're in ngs i think its just gotten worse with the player base getting smaller and as a whole the playerbase is not getting smarter because the game isnt very lively. tho i guess this can still be an issue in bigger games too, so maybe im just getting a little too doomer.
anyway this is one of the reasons i subscribed to your channel, this playerbase needs people like you getting the facts out there
That's an issue in every game, a game can and will teach you how to play and the basics, but the optimization, how to play the class, etc. comes down to the player.
Gating content by inflated upgrade cost to move the stick is a shitty way to milk a lack of it !
Highest rarity weapons craftable and unsellable when.
Always have been...?
@@raevenent751 Only the Aegis weapons were unsellable, and I loved that. Actually gave me a reason to farm the game for good gear but they've sadly done away with that again it seems. Now we're stuck with the ridiculous prices of the player shop. I also don't enjoy running bursts for a slim chance at the new weapons
@chelsthegameruiner8669 It's because anytime we get a weapon we could craft, like the kaizaar series, ppl always complain. I didn't mind the grind cuz it gave me reasons to actually play this game.
Here how to save 10 instead of 5 with the 100% boost: double each primm sword II then use those doubled 5s and use the 100% boost.
But if that's not called a reskin, what is it called then?
you can "make" gigas IV in item exchange but it's crazy priced
Also Sega could be way better than they are, its not just us
My goodness, thank you for making this video and for calling this stuff out
I like when people use terms with its real meaning to describe things so everyone its on the same page.
I had never problem dropping Arms refiners II, best way to drop them is in Neusen plant with about 70% rdr I can drop 4 in hour at least.
I like Magnus more now if only because I like the new Daityl warrior. He's pretty metal. XD
The new item drops and their rarity is a bit of a headache, but for separate reasons.
Rathalos no matter what type, is still a rathalos type ennemy not a reskin pretending to be something elses!
lore wise, the doll is pretty much a copy of starless. So imo, it's okay to make them look alike.
I watched you and Skull . I am very happy for this month update . Guess if you are new to this game you can spend whole year for this game ❤

I remember my friend ranting about his frustration with hatred when it released 😂
Sad life 😂
Some people on JP are under powered for DFA but the clear times are still no longer than 22-27mins with the worst groups, they are probably late on limit breaking and adding the 6th augment I'll give it a week and hopefully people get off their asses.

How do you turn on the dps meter I can’t find it in settings?
It's not in game yet, but there are parsers but that's against ToS so if you use one keep it to yourself cause it does paint a target in your back
In all honestly, most of the augments need to be removed.

Oh they bought everything, they just didn't add any augments or enhance it.
Since I slotted for the first set of duel quests I haven’t felt like re augmenting my armors and weapons again. Too much work and meseta. I have to get money back first. So I’m n worried about grinding the current content until around august.
That's where the From Software pros come in to get the perfect I-frames. I used to be like that but not anymore sadly

My man at his limit, lol
They should have had a "top damage ranking" at the end of every urgent quest from the beginning. This is why everyone hates mining rig, because normies don't understand aggro or the mini map
Some weapon classes are far out better than others. Also, you'd be competing with whales who will have the best of everything. Just too many variables to have that sort of thing.
Imagine complaining about upgrading gear in a game with vertical progression / gear grind LOL
I have to admit, there's not much to look forward to this patch, especially since the quest that was supposed to want us to upgrade was pushed back to August, but HOLLYYY mother I have had some runs that took forever, and I get that it's enough for some people to clear in 30 minutes, but you could at least think of other people's time and boosters, right? Guess that's too much to ask for some people.
Last note: If you truly have an issue with how gear is coming out then you should check out MMOs with other types of progression (GW2 is a good example of a horizontal progression system), since SEGA won't be changing one of the core design philosophies of a 23 year old online series any time soon.
You say think or others time yet that itself means said person should value theirs less...come on now
@@zelohendricks51 Not at all, what I meant is that learning game progression and making more efficient use of your time while having fun is totally possible and leads to less than 20 minute clears, which overall is better for everyone! I don’t really get what you mean by value their time less, since the only way you would see it as getting less value from learning about the game was if you never cared about the gameplay to begin with.
@@DR4kH1N And guess what? Not everyone does nor do they have too. If folks meet and BP requirement and aren't dying yet still contributing that's all I care about. If a run takes 30 mins of well. Blame Sega not the player
@@zelohendricks51 I'm blaming the player if they're refusing to upgrade. No one's expecting you to have a Tisah since they're like winning the lottery rare. At least have a Neos A weapon. It's super easy to get
@@zelohendricks51 Right, so it's SEGAs fault you're not handed gear with max potency, and also their fault for not making the game so easy that learning about it makes no difference! Sounds like you don't engage in battle gameplay, which is fine, but don't act like everyone is braindead and doesn't want to improve. Come on....
VISIPHONE SEEMS TO BE DOWN SO I CANT DBL CHECK BUT OBSIDIA WEAPS ARE STILL VALID KRONOS DONT SLEEP ON EM
Yeah that's what I'm taking about, even Nogleth starless still have variation and something different.
I have difficulties finding arms refiner II.
Im guessing neusen plant's no bueno?
@@rovaljax neusen arms refiner kinda hard to get
Dreadking is more aggressive
dreadking is alot of things LOL
I skipped gen u when it was on 3ds I now have it on switch there’s Al’s azure rath and silver rath and then theres frontiers rath that’s while and blue that does light damage combined with fire and lightning
The MH comparison was spot on. I'm a long-seasoned MH vet myself, couldn't have said it any better! I'm new to PSO2 and I'm having a blast new sub :)
I wish aside from bp gates, that the game would have potency gates
o god Krono i remember all of the bad gear check back in base for TPD it was so bad that why i nerve clear it i just nerve got an team together that was gear to clear it.
