Try to hold the gun exactly the same every time, moving your hands around while shooting is a good way to increase group size. My dad took a 770 in .243 and shot a 1 inch 3 shot group at 100yds with open sights. And he was 72 years old. He never did this before he always just took a rifle and went hunting, waisting bullets shooting at targets he says. But that time he wanted to make sure he could shoot good enough to hunt with it. I can see though you're an experienced shooter, no flinching...
I have this gun and using Federal 80 grain hydra Shok bullet by bullet very accurate went back got more boxes. Scope comes with holds good has no name on it lol.
Just purchased one for $238. I’ve always Used my grandpaps rifles for deer season so I figured this year I’d go get my own. Haven’t fired it yet but ready to put some down range.
I purchased one to take a young boy hunting for the first time , we went to the range and zeroed the rifle , On our first hunt he got his first deer on a 70 yard shot , he was smiling from ear to ear and so was I ! 😁
With the first three shot test I saw the barrel bounce once. And sure enough there was one flyer. On the three and three test the first three I thought of the barrel bounce twice and there were two flyers the second three it appeared like the barrel bounced on the first shot but that was hard to tell I didn’t really see any flyers.
I don’t know, but we bought a 243 youth gun Remington 770 and now after four years of use found that the bolt action is made out of cement beer your metal how to get stuck all the time missed the back of a lifetime my wife did because good and rec the bullet ridiculous would never buy another one in suggest you think hard about buying one of these cheap Remington

My longest is 680 yards with a Remington 770 .243Win 75gr VMAX. Tried 820 yards but no luck, so far!
Hornady ammo
So for the person who goes out hunting 4 days a year it's definitely worth it
On the first group you lifted your head off the stock on the 3rd shot
