This is what i dream that big companies could do to some of their classics via outsourcing. MMX snes trilogy, Final Fight 1, Super Metroid, Metal Gear 2 msx, Castlevania 4, etc...
The thing that's brilliant about Natsume's remakes is how when you look at them in stills you think "How does this look any different from the old game?", and then when you see them in motion you're like "OH!"
This is the very best remaster I have ever seen. I was expecting to be mad with the cel (flash) graphics, very gratifying and just awesome! great work team!
Ohhhhh SNAP!! I been waiting a long time for this one! I own both of these,however,as far as the Super Nintendo version goes,I actually play the Super Famicom version of it.Thats the uncensored version on SNES.
The remake of this game is SO good! I play it alot on the Switch, but also own the PS4 disc 👍. I really like the crazy, added characters, 2 player simultaneous feature, & uncensored visuals. Just wish that they had added the original game for completeness. Pro-tip.... hold up when throwing an opponent for a big spin or down + throw for a reverse atomic drop. The big spin is super useful for taking out, bosses.

@@cabbusses Yep, rather than beautifully detailed pixel art like this, too many remasters of 2D games go with graphics that either look filtered/smoothed or too much like a Flash/mobile game. I don’t mind some 2.5D modern games but pixel art should never be turned into anything else!
@@rosstee Recently there has been a surge of "HD Pixel Art" remakes. They tend to look pretty neat depending on who makes them. The Natsume ones still look the best though, IMO.
@@cabbusses There has definitely been a resurgence of pixel art games, new retro style and rereleases of older games for modern consoles, but most of the time the older games simply keep their original graphics (which is fine by me if they were great to begin with). I have Pocky and Rocky Reshrined as well which is a very nice example of redone pixel art but can you share any other good titles? I don't see many going to the effort of Natsume as you say.

The arcade cabinets had 3 monitor screens. 3. On the PS4 version the bad guys must be an equal opportunity employer. Equal pay and benefits for their henchwomen.
It's very likely women were removed from the enemy side due in the SNES version to NoA censorship. (similar things happened to beat-em-ups like Final Fight and Sonic Blast Man.) This is another good justification for the remaster, to undo prior authoritative meddling.
My favorite SNES game of all time and not talked about as such.that much! Reminds me of a possible NEO GEO game...The PS4 has improved on the background and few foreground elements, but the SNES is very good with these and the SNES characters still look bigger..An impressive SNES game!
Ninjawarriors on SNES was a beat em up did I not like. It was a chaotic, unfair and highly punishing experience. I felt very limited as a player, while the enemies had everything to steamroll me with.
Eh, the game gets easier slightly if you know the controls as while it is a beat em up, the combat is more like a fighting game with how you do some of the moves. Kamaitachi especially is the best character for how simple he is to use
The remake's screen ratio is over stretched and the character models are much smaller in stature compared to SNES version and certain assets about the original should of been kept the same imo but it's still a solid remake regardless I did enjoy certain changes to artistry.
The Remake looks amazing but nothing beats the original on a CRT. Still i'm glad that they took the effort to make such a good remake, the Wild Guns Remake was great too except the new characters lol those absolutely sucked ass.
Too bad they couldn't make the ninjas designed in a way that they take damage, and reveal robotics underneath like in the original. The art style just looks too much like what Capcom was doing.

Es una mala suerte que la version americana de Ninja Warriors Again este modificada a diferencia de la versión Japonesa que tiene la sangre y las chicas, por ahi se solto un parche para quitar eso y dejarlo no solo con las chicas si no con los enanos con garras, pero lastima el parche lo quitaron de RomHacking, yo lo consegui y tengo el rom. Aun asi este remake hace precisamente lo que el parche quizo hacer, espero que pronto hagas una comparación con Wild Guns SNES + Wild Guns Reloaded y el proximo Pocky & Rocky Reshirend

For a PS1, that was worth an 86th place with a 79 score. You need to fly up to 45th place to find a PS1 game as respected by critics as the 100th best reviewed game for the PS4. It's Spider-Man, by the way. The PS4 did that better too.

There's blood, too! This was removed from the U.S. SNES game. I hate censorship. Beat 'em ups always got heavily censored in The West. Final Fight on SNES & Streets of Rage on Genesis both were heavily censored vs their Japanese versions.

She out of nowhere fell to the ground and started convulsing and shaking. the other teenage girl there just stepped over her and finished up my sandwich as the lady lay on the ground shaking. The two teenage girls that work there just laughed it off and said "Oh, she does this all the time." I peeked over the counter to see the lady foaming at her mouth. I then paid for my sandwich and left
I don't mean to sound like I'm nitpicking but it in the remake it would've been cool when you health is critical you can see your robot get damaged like in the original arcade...

Actually, I'd say "remasters"/remakes are more prone to changing way too much than way too little.

Gameplay over scanlines. Plus if you are really inclined, you can buy a converter for cheap to hook your ps4 to a crt
I beg to differ... playing a dog with drone was a draw for me... plus a Big Beautiful Woman in the other Bonus character is a nice touch
