I praise Brigid, daughter of Ireland Daughter of all lands, we praise her wholly The shining lantern of Leinster lights across the land Head of the youth of Ireland, head of the fine women Dark and sharply cutting is the house of Winter But on Brigid's day, Spring comes near to Ireland Daughter of all lands, we praise her wholly I praise Brigid, daughter of Ireland (any error is mine!)
Whether is a Christian saint or as her true pagan mighty self, Lady Brighde is a being to behold; no wonder she's had so many novels, histories, songs, poems, and so written about her. As someone of Irish ancestry, I think I have encountered her a time or two.

Once a king was hearing the lies of his friends about his love. "they are my friends for ages" he thought, "they never would lie to me" so he turned away in anger and disgust. And a true loving gentle being of water and earth and the gentle breeze full of old wisdom had to cut of her hair to become a harsh king and warrior of fire and air and the thunder storms. "this is good bye to the world of human, see me when the darkness is over", she did cry with salty tears of frustration. And the ages old sage of wisdom turned into a stone of fire and ice, never to feel the touch of any humans hand again. Now she is waiting for the words from the lips of the one she loves to wake her up to live again.

Its a lot like African spirituality in the Americas and carribean in the way the church tells us who to honor as holy but we disregard that and honor the ones we truly revere, Its my understanding the church gave a Sainted women the same name to convert more pagans
Well, the saint and the goddess are the same figure. which is why you hear weird stories like St. Brigid being the midwife of Mary (despite Brigid being allegedly born around 460 years after Christ), thus connecting the saint to the same things the Goddess was a patron of.
cannonizing her was basically a way for the Pagan folks to be able to keep their belief set without having to be inquired of by the inquisitors of the time. @@metalpurist83
How dare you attempt to destroy Irish culture. There is no Irish Goddess named Brigid. St Brigid is the patron saint of Ireland along with St Patrick. They were contemporaries. Real people who actually existed not some abstract new age witch entity. Also the picture you have posted is the St Brigid's cross, the cross is Christian obviously. In case you are wondering who has posted this comment. Im Irish, i can trace my heritage back before the middle ages. Your name is not Irish i notice. I don't appreciate the way you appropriate my culture and then twist it into a ridiculous lie.
We're always forced to feel so sorry soo sooo sooooo sorry for people who get any enhancement from culture and any light light the light of religion. Like if Heaven forbid they do it properely. Because, they have Jesus's finger to blame. They act as if his finger scorns them which is like w/e the F that means then when they get religious they effectively have a rope tieing them to shore. They get vicious about their animal births? but it's all just the contents of stupid.
Brigid the goddess is not a myth. If you choose to honor Her as only a saint and not a goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann, then that is your personal choice and beliefs. Not everyone believes that.
Thank you, it's wonderful... A tiny spark of light in our current nightmarish darkness

Blessed Imbolc. English translation please. Its beautiful. Hail blessed Lady of fire, healing and spring.
I praise Brigid, daughter of Ireland
Daughter of all lands, we praise her wholly
The shining lantern of Leinster lights across the land
Head of the youth of Ireland, head of the fine women
Dark and sharply cutting is the house of Winter
But on Brigid's day, Spring comes near to Ireland
Daughter of all lands, we praise her wholly
I praise Brigid, daughter of Ireland

Exactly. I still wait.... a rebirth is just lips words away. Betrayal and it's silence kills but the breath of life Is in the love of the 🤴🏾 king
Too gentle to breath without such unconditional love mutually... I look forward to breath once more in a humanly way. That's the dedication
My hair was stripped and cut a few times. But finally coming back..

Beautiful and haunting.
It is more what you don't see than what you see.
It's more important.
Éire go bragh! (I probably misspelled it, so corrections are welcome). Love Ireland from Brazil 🇧🇷♥️🇮🇪
Not bad. The correct Irish form is "Éire go brách". "go bragh" is a corrupted Anglicised form
Thanks.
Wow Powerful!
Stunningly beautiful!

@unconquered_sun I am wanting to use this in a worship service centered around Brigid. May I have permission to do so?

I've always thought this tune is far more ancient than the saint.
Isn’t this song about st Brigid? Not the goddess , I just want to know cause I’m named after the goddess and a song , wondering if this could be if
Considering they're the same thing I wouldn't worry bout it lmao

She is a Christian Saint NOT a goddess. She would abhor this.
Considering that it’s well known that Saint Brigid was named for the goddess, I’m sure she would be fine.
Goddess Brigid is a myth. St Brigid is the historical figure we have.
