    These videos are a must watch for every car guy and gal. Proper foundational knowledge is critical, and nobody does a better job teaching than Ben.

    Your welcome. Would like to learn more about running an engine on a Dyno. Did it twice and realized how much I didn’t know about Dyno parameters and tuning.

      Thanks! I'll get something together on that soon.

    Great stuff.
    How about a deep dive into cylinder / combustion logging? Hardware, software, affects of various parameters, like cam variables etc.?

    Great information, but please, please, please, skip the music, it's just extra distracting noise.
    Nobody cares, zero, zip, nada, how polished the production is, as long as the Audio is clear, Lavaliere-Mic or Headset-Mic.
    Multiple Camera-Angles are another "so-what", it doesn't educate or entertain any one, or get the Channel more views.
    Please continue, I am grateful for the information.

    5252 is the calculation for dyno hp calculation - which never occurs in an installation.
    LBS/FT is the actual unit
    Reality matters

    With inertia dyno you measure horsepower and calculate torque if you know rpm. For power you dont need to know rpm.

    • @350gtboi
      @350gtboi Місяць тому +2

      You measure acceleration of mass over time, that gets calculated into horsepower. It’s not measured directly

      @350gtboi and with roller dyno you measure torque at the torque arm of the dyno, not engine torque. Torque gets calculated from horsepower to the rollers and engine rpm. Torque is just a BS number.

      @@V8Lenny Not all rollers as is the case of inertia dynos. Dynos with retartea yes. Those measure torque at the arm. But it could be an engine, chassi roller or chassis hub dyno.

    Good video, but saying torque is work is misleading. Yes it has the same units, but they're not the same thing. For example, a static torque does no work, same with a linear force that doesn't move. I would also argue the point that a chassis dyno "isn't accurate". We don't race engines, we race cars, so the HP delivered to the wheels is more important to me than what happens at the flywheel.

      Fair point from a different perspective
