- I tested out the Breville Combi 3-in-1 microwave for a few weeks and it's just crazy what this microwave can do. I made poutine, french toast, and so much more, and the soft-close door is the best thing ever. Check out my full review www.blog.bestbu...
Poutine! This is truly a Canadian reviewer! It looks fantastic...
How about all the splatter in your oven three and one?? Is it easy to clean with all those holes everywhere in the broiler above?
There’s no splattering because the smartness of the oven makes sure no liquids or anything boils, it will reach above boiling temperature, but because of the air and microwaving functions, it will be still but the same temputure
Can you line the pans with foil for easy clean up like you would in a traditional oven?
You don't need to. So easy to clean even after doing a roast
i just bought 1 of these. my only problem hesitation is that my outlet is on the left of the microwave if that makes sense. ive pulled the microwave atleast 8 inches away from the wall and situated the cord as best that i could away from the vents in the back. my question is do i need to worry about the cord melting or getting too hot? guessing using microwave to air fryer etc it might get hotter?
I’ve never noticed the cord getting hot and my microwave is pretty close to the wall and to the vents. I can double check the next time I run it but I think the vent is designed to vent up and not out to prevent that kind of heat.
I just found one of these sitting next to a dumpster while taking my garbage out. It's practically Brand New. It didn't have the dish for the air fryer. It looks and works like a brand new one. I love how quite it is 😃
Interesting Review (Thank you, Shelly)
And, preceeding comments well noted!
A quick question of concern, regarding cleaning the 1930's heating element ... !?
Sooner of later; the oven side of the cooking ... it's heating element in the top of the microwave (which is very exposed) '''will'''; sooner of later, get food particles up on it (for example, a great round of cheese-on-toast) those particles, will get roasted and burnt onto that element ... !? How can you easily clean that element of all burnt food particles, without, leaning in there with a little pan scrubber and scrubbing off all those burnt particles ... and thats if you can get them all off! You won't ... !!! Especially around where the heating element mounts to the inner oven casing ... !? Does the element, pop-out for easy cleaning ... !? A 2022 '3-in-1' microwave with a 1930's cleaning problem ... !?
Or, is there a button you press and some magic Genie (dressed in her little nothings ... !) pop out and clean the oven for you ... Haha!
I don't want to go backwards in time; having to put on a full set of overalls and climb in there every so often to de-coke that 1930's heating element; and, if you '''don't''' clean it, every so often; YOU WILL GET A SMOKER, AND PERHAPS WORSE ... Weep !?
Love any thoughts ... !?
Best ...

I just found one while taking my garbage out and brought it home to clean up. It had very little use so it wasn't that dirty. I placed a towel on my countertop and placed the microwave upside down a used mild soap and water with a washcloth and it cleaned up nicely. You can also place a wet washcloth on the heating element and let it soak for 30min. Placing the microwave upside down was a lifesaver. Good luck
Thank you for the review. My experience was not like yours. I purchased the oven about two weeks ago and had lots of trouble with it. I love the microwave. It’s very powerful. But the oven and air fryer were lackluster. The first thing I noticed is that when you preheat you need to put the food in first because it does not stop when the preheat cycle is done. It goes right to air frying. OK fine I can deal with that. Next I noticed that you can only set the temperature to 400, 425, and 450. We have a lot of specialized recipes that call for temperatures like 380 or 350. How do you get around that? Finally I cooked some chicken legs per the recipe that I had and had to increase the temperature of course because it did not go to 380. Not only did I have to cook them about twice as long but when they were done they were not crispy. I find that my $50 air fryer outperformed this one. However, after returning the Breville I am a little annoyed at my counter space being eaten up by both a microwave and an air fryer. It makes me wonder if I did the right thing. Any advice on this?
I completely understand where you are coming from. Something like an air fryer should be able to be part of an appliance and not be needed as a stand alone. This one is great but it definitely needs to be tweaked for best use. I struggled with the set temps too until I found that keeping the temp set high and the time lower was the best way to use it.
I have an air fryer built into my toaster oven and I find I use that one more. It lets me set the dial precisely. This microwave is small enough that it’s a keeper for me, and the toaster oven replaced my toaster, is a mini oven, and air fryer so I am OK with the space it takes.
@@ShellyWutke604 yeah, I think I’ll wait to see if Breville does a gen2 of this product down the road. Something with a better air fryer.
@@ShellyWutke604prime rib? Try it?
Having disassembled one of these, it definitely isn't an air fryer, just a weak fan oven like any other combination microwave.
I just want to know how to reheat pizza in the damn thing, my previous Breville microwave had a smart reheat section, which you could select pizza and how many slices but this new one I got has nothing like that.
Only a from frozen pizza option. I’m so frustrated
Did you try Smart Reheat on this one? That's what I use.
We have used a Breville toaster oven for years and love it. Time to replace our microwave. Will the 3 in 1 replace both the microwave and the toaster oven? We make toast just about every morning. Thanks
Does the element inside at the top turn red when air frying? Mine is not working and I am guessing the element is not working properly. Thanks
Did you figure this out?
It’s has a soft close door “SLAM” so funny
Well I had to show how it works. :) I think it's a nice, soft slam.
weird mine doesnt slam like that. its stops and closes slowly
Noticed you were using per packaged fries? What about making fries from real Russet potatoes not pre packaged, do they come out crispy and brown. Does the oven system have enough omph to make that happen at the same speed as than my regular Samsung convection range... with raw russets it takes about 25 minutes at 450 and they come out perfectly brown
I haven’t tried that but I have done nugget potatoes in the air fryer and they are so good. You soak them in cold water for a few hours, pat them dry, and then air fry for about 15 min at 390 degrees. They come out brown and crispy.
How can you say you like this if temperature can't beset at anything you like?
Because that’s a minor issue when it works great?
@@ShellyWutke604 But at that price it's very crazy not to make proper thermostat don't you think? The prie to make one is probably something like 50Eur 250Eur profit
Thanks for the video! It was helpful!
I’d love an updated review and more about the air fryer!
How hot does the exterior of oven get on air fry.
Not hot at all. You can touch the microwave when it's running and it doesn't heat up.
Hello! Just bought one and wondered if your Breville clicks every 15 seconds or so as its working?
I don’t think I’ve ever heard it click but if it did I would think there was something stuck under the turntable.
Did yours keep working despite the clicking? Does the clicking stop after a while?
Can you steam in this microwave
Definitely.
love the way you slammed the soft close door lol, helpful review tho
Just showing how quiet it is, even if you slam it shut :)
@@ShellyWutke604 ours arrived today and it’s amazing
@@nickcred It really is, isn’t it? It’s so nice to have a good microwave. I love everything about it.
Hi can you do any kind of baking? Like cakes cookies casseroles? My moms oven went out and she can’t afford a new one was gonna just get a counter convection oven but already has a microwave on her counter. Was wondering if this would be good for her so that she could not have to have 2 big things on her counter???
Hi, it can do any kind of baking. It’s a standard convection oven too, but there would probably be a learning curve so the temps she was used to baking at would be slightly different.
Shelly this looks like the combi-wave 3 in 1 in the states. Is this a different name in Canada?
It's the same one. Great microwave. This is the link to the unit I reviewed. www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/breville-countertop-3-in-1-convection-microwave-w-air-fryer-1-1-cu-ft-stainless-only-at-best-buy/14434798
Hi mate, this one and the lg neochef ....which one is the best? Thanks and hope to hear from you
I haven't tried the neochef, but there aren't many microwaves I'd choose over this one. The soft close door really seals the deal for me, and smart reheat is a time saver.
Thats only a microwave, this is 3 in 1 !
Wish you would have put in a frozen entree. That’s what we use our microwave for. Stouffers, Marie Callender’s, Amy’s. We also do Tyson Chicken Strips and I don’t want to air fry them.
There is an option in the menu to heat up frozen dinners. It works really well. No cold spots at all.
Is there better than my ninja foodyli?
I've never tried that one but I really love this microwave.
Mine broke on first day, so threw it out my 4th floor apartment window
I guess returning it after the first day wasn’t an option?
@@ShellyWutke604 It was easier to throw it out the window
Maybe that's the one a different user found in the trash?

Embarrassing review of America 2020: bacon, melt butter/chocolate, fried foods... who eats that crap but us chubbo Americans. How about a Salmon and Veggie recipe for smart people???
Lol I never use any of those, except for the bacon haha. But Jesus, that’s such a greasy mess
