There is a slight noise floor on ultra sensitive IEMs, an impedance adapter solves this… only an issue with ultra sensitive IEMs.
After measuring FR XSpace does not boost upper frequencies as much as I had thought… hobbytalk.squig.link/?share=Hobby_Talk_Preference_Target,TANGZU_x_HBB_Zetian_Wu,TANGZU_x_HBB_Zetian_Wu_XSPACE,TANGZU_x_HBB_Zetian_Wu_XBASS,TANGZU_x_HBB_Zetian_Wu_XBASS_XSPACE
For me, XBass is the one feature I can’t live without. IFi has it on many of their products but they really should include it with everything. Magical is no exaggeration.
I know right?! It’s legit so good! Haha fixes so many sets haha
@@HobbyTalk That’s for sure. So subtle but so effective.
Really enjoy your videos and hearing your opinions man. Honest and to the point, a lot like Vortex Reviews. The only thing I would change is the thumbnails. Having the letters covering the headphones or IEMs is kind of odd in my opinion. Maybe just including the picture of them or small text on the side would be better. Anyway, keep up the good work 👍
I appreciate the input, I’ll take that into account for the future :) thank you for the constructive criticism
I've actually been trying to decide between the IFi Go Blu and the similarly priced Shanling UP5. Still trying to decide but it's another point in favor of the Go Blu since you can vouch for it. Thank you for another great review! 👍
The x bass is something really cool, I dig that feature a lot
Hey mate, I have the go blu, as of 4 weeks ago, and the shanling up4, hands down the go blu, the xbass and xspace sets it apart, you won't be disappointed
I'd love to see a review of iFi GO Link !! Nice video keep up the great work !!
If I can get my hands on it I’ll do it :)
I've been eyeing the Go Blue for well over a year now and Amazon just broke me. As of 4/16/23 they have the iFi Go Blue on sale for $179.99 so for me that made it a no brainer. I've heard the XBass/XSpace before as I used to have the Zen V2 DAC/AMP stack and although I liked it I went for just better overall sound quality at a higher price tier with the SMSL SU9n and Topping A30 Pro but back then I wasn't into IEMs as much. Now I'm wondering how my Blessing 2 are going to sound with XBass on, will it give me just that little bit more sub bass that set lacks? I don't know but I'll find out on Wednesday when this little beast arrives...
Thanks for the review and letting me know that even though this doesn't have the typical Burr Brown DAC Chip they normally use in their devices they managed to keep the iFi sound signature that's made them famous or infamous depending on how you look at it...
Take care and God Bless...
Thanks for watching
Nice video as always, keep it on the good work sir ! ;)
Appreciate it :) thank you!
Hi good review where did purchase the case also with a clip? Thanks.
I don’t recall… I think headphones dot com sells them
I've been using the btr5 for over a year and its been great but if I could go back in time I would get the go blu. Xbass is awesome on my Zen dac and it would be sweet to have it on the go
Totally! Haven’t tried the fiio stuff myself, would be cool to try
I have Ifi go bar which I use with ie600 and just love the combination. 👌🏻
Nice!!! I wanted to try the go bar haha it looks dope!
@@HobbyTalk I am in Edmonton right now. Will be back to Calgary on weekend. I can lend it to you for few days.
@@harman8431 that could be cool. Maybe in a bit, I have a lot I need to film right now, but once I get through those haha
@@HobbyTalk sure, let me know 😇
Where did you purchase the case ? I looked on Amazon and pound a dorky case with a strap on loop to thread through a necklace!
Directly from the company
@@HobbyTalk thanks, I just found it on their web site for $29
@@HobbyTalk thanks
Have you ever tried the Moondrop Dawn. It's pretty sweet, it's a Dual Dac, power can be adjusted between .5V all the way to 4V, my favorite one yet.
I haven’t yet, no … would like to
@@HobbyTalk I just ordered the new iBasso DC03, it has the same set up, dual Cirrus chips, really the only difference is the iBasso goes to 2V max so it should draw less power and less battery drain, but as of now the Moondrop Dawn is the best I've come across, both retail for $69, the iBasso also only comes with a 3.5mm connection, Moondrop Dawn comes in both 3.5mm and 4.4mm (I have the 4.4mm with a 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter) mainly to be able to switch between 2V and 4V for Sennheiser 660HDS2's, their suppose to be made for more bass which at the moment I use the SkullCandy Crusher Evo's and boy are they fun to play with, the Dac's allow for twice the power of Bluetooth and stock headphone jacks
Nice review by ya,HT on the ifi go blue amp...Just got my fiio btr,yes that's right, not the fiio btr1k....bought it online, hard to find, cause fiio is on the btr7k....For 50 bucks it also has bass boost it doesn't state it does, but you click the button twice and it changes the sound...Fiio btr is half the size of the ifi go blu, just by looks, idk that I'd exactly, but just eyeball measure ment....good luck with the ifi go Blu, I really like the looks of it butttt!! 200 bucks is pretty high for me...Anyway..great review by ya HT..peace
Whaaaaaat?! The fiio has a bass boost button?! Good to know… huh
@Hobby Talk its a button that changes the sound signature...I don't use eq,it has no qpp, plus fiios 3/5/7 btrk amps ave apps that aren't that great...yeah,it's a nice no frills, just how I like it amp...the mini size with the power it has, is impressive....
@@ikejennings1154 source gear is a whole other ball game haha lots to learn still
@Hobby Talk you want a bt dac amp with a great app..
Ear studio 100 mark 11
Quadelix 5 k....both ave great apps...
Es is 70 to.90 bucks
Quadelix costs just over a 100 bucks
@@ikejennings1154 I want to try the 5K real bad… I hear so much good about it
I’m considering purchasing the hi fi go blue or the fiio btr7 ! Any suggestions as which one to purchase?
I’d recommend the qudelix 5k if that’s a possible option. If not the btr7 would be better for IEMs most likely, and ifi go blu better for headphones.
Nice review. Can you tell me where to buy the case with the clip? Thank you
Ifi website is the only place I know for sure… not too sure
I have kind a cheaper version of that: JCally AP 10, which however does not have bass boost or a microphone. The price I paid for it was 48€ including postage.
Solid price!!!
Man I was looking at this at weekend, I can't decide between this and the fiio btr7... I've heard the fiio has a darker background.
Hmmm… haven’t tried the fiio but I hear good things about it.
Fiio has abysmal software.
I would suggest go for the quedelix 5k
Love that knob, Bluetooth range is abysmal though.
Maybe they updated it? I’ve heard there has been silent revisions.
@@HobbyTalk well dang! If it's physical I'm screwed but I'll check ifi website if any firmware update or something is up.
@@deparoo that would be dope. I was told by other reviewers the old version didn’t cross feed with x space too but mine definitely does
Hows the Pairing w/ the Meteor? Is it dead silen?
I liked it with meteor, didn’t have much issues. X bass was fun lol
I got beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 250 ohm will the iFi go blue be enough to power them?
Should ya…
try the topping nx4
If it’s sent to me I’ll give it a shot :)
Not first.
Noooooooo hahaha my bad
First Half of the video was a blank ass screen lol wtf fix that
What?! I double checked and it works for me… maybe restart the app or something?
It must be so sad to be an ios user. Can't even eq lol.
In android I can use parametric eq
It really is… the cope is real hahaha
It looks $100 though.
True… very true… haha
Build quality on the go blu is hard to justify the price. FiiO has almost immaculate build quality, the seam on the ifi was just 🫠
Noted… I prefer to not have glass tho haha I’m rough on my stuff sometimes.
I'd rather have so-so build quality than terrible software. Fiio really should outsource all of their software development.
@@pholly understandable. But at that point the Q5K exists. Meh build but great software. Half the price!
These thing broke on me twice. I purchased two. One had a broken button on scroll wheel and the other one the plastic separating between the device. Look at Amazon review and you'll see people with the same experience. terrible build quality.
@@epicmike3915 woah… good to know!
