A good way to test their eyesight is to drop a cotten ball and see if they follow it as it makes no noise.

@@trishapaytasslefttoe834 And Joey's been told several times that the sight might return. I, personally, doubt it - but it's still something he should continue to check. At the very least he can figure out how strong their other senses are.
yeah that's how I was always told to do it. especially when my dogs were older, that's how the vets would check their vision.
The fact that ALL FOUR puppies were able to realize there was a hole in the carrier and they ALL managed to get out of that small hole, makes me hopeful that they are getting their eyesight back and their eyes are healing. The fact that they could follow your hand and the roll of paper towels (even without verbal cues to get their attention) only confirms this. I have been praying for these little ones. They are so cute. I also like the little Siamese kitten you were holding. She's a beautiful little princess.
This is not hate! I just wanted to tell you that Siamese is actually a cat breed, although she does has somewhat similar markings! And she is an adorable little princess!
@@sunspot9591 Yes, I know. I used to own a Siamese before she died of old age. lol
They never had "lost" their eyesight to begin with. And Joey has known this for a LONG time. He is fostering them through Wagmor, Wagmor came out forever ago saying they don't have eyesight issues. Joey just knows keeping up the story = views, = money.
They also aren't Frenchies, they are English bulldogs.
@@sunspot9591 she's probably a siamese mix, the momma was a stray so she could have mated with a siamese or siamese mix
@@KayTee979 Joey is worth 12 million dollars, he doesn’t need to lie about dogs eyesights. He is only fostering these dogs and not the owner.
the fact that jack jack isnt blind and was gonna get put down for being blind makes me so sad 😩 poor babys , if the rest really cant see theyre just really smart ❤
Still hoping for a miracle when it comes to these babies eyesight. Jack Jack is one lucky boy, and whomever adopts him will find him really sweet (not to say they aren't all sweet). Kitties are getting cuter and cuter, how fast they grow. Thanks Joey, see ya soon!
for anyone wondering, here is joey's animal list (in chronological order):
- Wolf (male husky, rescued from craigslist (?) as puppy)
- Storm (male husky, white, adopted from a rescue as puppy, lives w Daniel)
- Lark (female husky/german shepherd mix, adopted from a rescue as puppy (?), lives w Daniel's mother)
- Lark had babies (accident at doggy daycare)! seven of them (Red, Teal, Lavender, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue)
- Moon (male husky, kept one of lark's babies-Teal)
- Shadow (male husky, J&D tried to keep Lark's baby Red, but Moon & Shadow struggled with littermate syndrome so Shadow was rehomed like the others)
- Sakura (black female pregnant rescue cat) (kept her)
- Sakura's kittens, the zodiac litter (Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
- Azula (female foster cat, was pregnant but lost the litter)
- Hen (foster mama from junkyard)
- junkyard pups (Duck, Goose, Shark, Otter, Bear, Moose)
- foster mama dog Roo
- Roo's litter (Hare, Tiger, Bison, Panda, Raccoon, Monkey)
- Daenerys (white foster mama kitty)
- D's kitties, the Greek Goddess litter (Athena, Persephone, Aphrodite, Nemesis, Rhea)
- took care (for a couple of days) of a mama duck and her 9 babies that wandered into his backyard and got stuck
- May (foster mama husky)
- May's babies, the Months litter (January, February, March, April, June, July, August, September, October, November, December)
- Coco (husky foster mama pt2, false pregnancy, surrogate to Disney pups)
- husky babies abandoned in box (Disney litter--Copper, Pluto, Bolt, Scar, Bruno, Darla)
- Daisy (husky foster mama pt3)
- Daisy's babies (flower/tree litter; Goldie, Lilly, and Daphne didn't make it; Ash, Cyprus, Oren)
- Lacey/Onyx (black & white foster kitty mamma)
- Lacey/Onyx's kittens, gem litter (Opal, Pearl, Peridot, Flint, Mica, Jasper)
- 4 blind Frenchies (Mike Wazowski, Baby Jack-Jack, Linguini, Lea Michele)
*Montana/Monty (female golden retriever) is often in videos; she is Daniel's (Joey's ex) dog, but often comes to Joey doggy daycare
*the babies are usually adopted by other people (other than Moon) and then renamed! some of them have instagrams and have shared their new names/stories, but I'm not including those here
*I first created this list a long time ago and add to it every time Joey takes in a new animal...because I have it saved I just copy/paste it onto every (I try, but it's more like "most") animal-related video he posts, so no, it actually doesn't take a lot of my time or effort. I just like lists. Thank you to everyone who is giving thanks about the amount of effort though haha!

@@LizLuvsCupcakes I don’t think that the puppies are typical colours for that breed, which means they were likely purposefully bred to be those colours. So yeah not a reputable breeder, that’s so wrong and can cause so many health issues.

They are all so sweet. Gorgeous kitties and gorgeous puppies. I love getting these updates on everyone's progress.
Not personally blind myself, but I've heard from blind people that blindness isn't as simple as you are or aren't, there tends to be some remaining vision, but not enough to function day-to-day without issues. It could be that some of the others have some remaining vision/emerging vision, but not enough to be declassified as being blind. Ex. they may be able to see shapes, but can't see finer ones such as being able to see a rectangle but not a circle on that rectangle.
We(my family) had a dog we saved as a puppy from the road(house burnt down where she was at and her mother and rest of the litter weren't found) who could never really see that well, we knew she could see shapes but we don't think she could fully make out features. If any of them are in that boat, it's likely they'll start using their nose to compensate for their bad eyesight.

I am so happy that someone like you will forever be a person that animals and animal lovers alike can trust.
Whenever I had to train kittens to eat cat food, it always required human intervention first. Put some on their mouth with your finger that they have to lick off themselves, gets them started and then they will eat. I used to get kittens eating as young as 3 weeks(with a little extra water added), by 4 at the latest. Kittens aren't as smart as puppies when it comes to eating on their own, you have to first show them what food is/tastes like
They can totally see!! Their vision is probably still not 100% but close!
You can try using a small amount of food on your fingertip and see if the kittens will lick it off. You could even smear a little on their mouth. Once they get a taste for it, they will associate the smell as food.

A good way to get a baby to eat (kitty, puppy, human, etc) is to physically put the wet food on their lips. It will force them to lick it off, then they’ll taste it, and understand that it’s yummy, and they should eat it

Most of the time puppies born with two copies of the merle gene (it just means that both parent dogs carry the gene for merle in there DNA) often dogs with double merle genes will have vision problems or complete blindness in some cases.
A good way to help start eating is if you put a little on your finger and introduce it to them that way and then put them straight to the bowl :) but way to so jasper!! Did it all on his own hopefully all the kitties will pick it up

I volunteer at a humane society and there was this blind cat I hung out with today (he got adopted yay 😊) & I seriously wouldn’t have guessed he was blind if they didn’t tell me so, a bit shy yes but so loving and wanting pets like a normal adjusted cat 🥰 just goes to show you never know what anyones going through 💛💛💛

I didn't think any of the puppies could see that's a shock. That's good though it shows you're healing them. Kittens stop being so cute and fluffy 💟💟
Please introduce the pups to the pee pee pads/training pads. Especially since they are blind, they will sniff the pads and learn to use them to go to the bathroom. Just a suggestion to make the inside pen cleaner for them and for you. 👍🏻🌹👍🏻

Oh my gawd Baby Jack Jack is so adorable… wish I could adopt him and fly him here to Australia… I lost my mobility dog this year in May and my hearts been so broken, thanks Joey for always being there to cheer me up with puppers and Kitties!!

I am seriously interested in one of these babies them being blind doesn't bother me at all. I had a blind and deaf dog growing up so I have experience. And have a home where both my husband and I work from home and can spend all the time with the baby helping to train the puppy with verbal cues etc.
