- We've seen a new fried chicken chain pop up, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, in our area that is apparently good. The unique thing about this chain is that they're usually connected to a gas station/convenience store which sometimes gets a bad reputation. We set aside our opinions on that and go all in and try most of their menu items. Did our experience change our minds about eating at a gas station. Watch to find out!

I’m actually a big fan of Kristen krunchy chicken! I first had it in a Miami bodega, flavor is really up my alley (seasoned, actually crispy!)
I actually like the name Kristen Krunchy Chicken better! Lol... it is an unassuming spot!

we have these in MI too, but since it was "gas station" fried chicken, i just never cared to try it. but i just might now!

Just tried kk the other day in Los Angeles. It was delicious, if you haven’t tried it your missing out… chicken,rice,biscuits, stick to the basic’s.😊

There are Stand alone Krispy Krunchy locations but they're not common on the west coast.
They're slowly opening up more now!

There’s krispy krunchy chicken in san francisco! It was my first time having it a few years ago and i was surprised it was in a gas station. It is pretty good though!
We went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised!

The chicken looked good and crispy! We'll be doing a US roadtrip next year, so will keep this place in mind, and try if we see it! usually we just eat chips, nuts and fruits 😅 RBF lol

Oh no! Actually since my comment above I did try the Tustin one. It was very good, although I wouldn't exactly call it a gas station bargain - about the same price as any other fast food. I'd keep it in rotation, though. @@ItsJamesandMark

When it comes to fast food genre fried chicken, freshly fried will always win, regardless.
Seasoning, I'm a true Popeyes spicy with hot sauce and honey to douse, thighs preferred, love a whole wing. Always mashed for the side, biscuits are beautiful, slaw is wonderful, the tenders are legendary as are their selection of sauces of you're a dipper.....
I've enjoyed the KK one time and I would again.

My bf is from Louisiana and he prefers KK Chicken 🐔 over Popeyes but his go to is Raising Canes. But KK Chicken has the best biscuits hands down! Next time try the boudin balls pronounced BOO-DAN, so yummy!
We'll add the boudin balls for our to try next time. We've had Raising Cane's a few times but don't find ourselves wanting to come back as often.

I know that area very well and I must say their Freud chicken is good. The owners are nice too. If you guys are planning to visit Disneyland visit the gas station too.

Popeyes has so many sides some are only regional and make an appearance as a specialty item in other places. They definitely have jambalaya in certain areas.

So far I have yet to see a stand alone one only at a gas station but I feel like if they were to try a few stand alone restaurants they would be more popular because honestly hands down their food is really good. The crust on the chicken reminds me of Church’s Chicken! But the Mac & cheese you had was JUST put out and had not been heated long enough to have thickened. And a big lid with them is that they are the ONLY chicken restaurant that starts serving @ 4/5:00AM!!! I think that’s cool. If they don’t know it yet Let me be the 1st to tell them that they can STAND ALONE & that bother quality of their food has the ability to give KFC Popeyes Church’s Chicken & Bojangles a run 🏃🏾♀️ for their money😘😘
They did just make it so maybe it would have been better if it stood a lil like you said. I liked Church's but haven't had it in so long!
I was a Popeyes chicken guy for years but Ive converted to KKC for good. Mac n cheese sucks but everything else is good ...also you guys should have asked for their hot sauce packets ---- the chicken is damn bomb with the hot sauce .... good review fellas

@@ItsJamesandMark also get their tenders and potato mojo wedges when theyre fresh and hot ... these tenders are huge and juicy and even better IMO than the teeny tiny Canes tenders that keep shrinking over the past 5-7 years ..haha I mix the original sauce with hot sauce & random mayo for dipping but Im glad you guys will give KKC another chance
