'Empyreal' Live at Lite Up Studios 2020
I've said it once, I'll say it again. Sylosis are THE most underrated band in metal right now!
They are always excellent. 👏👊
They’ve been underrated for too long now!
What do you mean right now?
Bro, since conclusion of an age, that is a fucking sollllid album, the boys are fucking onto it!!
I really don’t understand how they never got bigger...they are one of the few bands that I can lose myself in. They can really create a vibe and atmosphere in a song.
there wont be underrated word if no one would fall in to it..
He plays the sweep picking part as if he plays a basic chord. Mind blown.
It's pretty easy.
@@R3tr0v1ru5 compared to first fragment probably
@@R3tr0v1ru5 Let's see your cover of it then. I've been playing for 12 years and can't play that.
@@EakEmk I can play it lol. I started learning it a few months after beginning to play, probably not the best idea, but still. I'm just saying it's simple compared some of the other bands I listen to.
@@R3tr0v1ru5 Ok I'll be waiting for you to upload your cover of it in the next couple of days
Sylosis official won this livestream thing for sure
Absolutely
Josh won it, madlad has gone and raised the bar even more with the architects concert
@@martinherrera7991 those are good but I think stuff like this is way sicker live, much prefer his performances in Sylosis or architects and think they’re better. Both a good live bands tho forsure but I don’t think anything he’s done with architects has raised the bar over his Sylosis work and shows.
The odds of one of you seeing this message is incredibly small, considering the video is a year old and you probably don’t read through every comment, but I’ve been listening to Sylosis for a couple years now. You guys are unmatched in both creativity and execution, and you have inspired myself and many others to learn how to do what you do. I’m an aspiring vocalist myself, and I have never heard another band besides you guys who mesh the vocals and music so beautifully. Please don’t ever stop
You couldnt be more right. Sylosis is something else that cannot even be labeled. Im so pissed reading people labeling them as metalcore. They've got everything in their music.
Ali breathed new life into Sylosis when he joined. His drumming is so fucking delicious :o
Hands down tightest live act ever!
Absolutely
Gojira is even more Tight live IMO !
Gojira should be opening for SYLOSIS
@@VisualKez WORD!
Check out Archspire if you like ridiculous skill played tight as hell.
its 10/17/24 10:09 am central time and I have JUST learned and been listening to Sylosis because of an IG post recommending this band. THANK God I saw that post. This band is all I can listen to now. The guitar tone on the chugging is what I have been looking for all these years. I am an old Bay area thrash fan, and this band takes it up a notch.
This is how I learned Sylosis. Still their best song! Love them!
I have listened to these guys for a long time. I must say Josh could teach Eddie van Halen a few things on the guitar 😆. Totally underrated metal band but by far one of my many favorites hands down.
Support this band!
I discovered these guys when they opened for LoG in 2012, and they've been a favorite ever since! Edge of the Earth is one of the best metal albums ever created.
I've found when it comes to Sylosis, people are either really about them or completely disinterested. I don't get the latter. I fucking love everything these guys have put out. I'll rock em til the day I die
They're put off by it because they dont like actual metal. I mean, I love Avenged Sevenfold and like stuff like Three Days Grace, but all it took was one listen of After Lifeless Years to get me hooked on Sylosis. I even bothered to learn the rhythm guitar for Teras and Blackened Skyline because holy fuck.
Kids like to say they like metal but then listen to poppy metalcore because of hEaVy bReAkDoWnS
@@cooliusmaximus5802 Yeah, its too bad. Sylosis are criminally underrated.
Props for learning Teras, that shit gets tricky towards the middle, with the sliding power chords, then that slow climb with the tremolo picking after. I never got that part perfectly down. I did get Eclipsed and Fear the World though, and those are a blast to play
@@frnaglfr5243 yeah, I cant even begin to fathom how he's able to keep the rhythm riffs going while singing.
I mean, not like I learned the songs in a week. I was spending hours on end, per day, learning the individual riffs. Getting them up to speed and being able to try transition between each one smoothly.
I believe we all know this, but ultimately, we can learn to play anything as long as we put the practice and hours in.
Fuck yeah thats how I got into Sylosis. Left that gig with one of their t-shirts that night.
If people aren’t into Sylosis. They either aren’t a musician, or into shitty radio friendly rock like Avenge Sevenfold. Josh Middleton is so well balanced at writing catchy leads and rhythm guitar parts. That’s it’s like addictive drug, when listening to him play.
For sure, one of the best tightest sounding and face melting metal band ever existed! This live version is even more brutal than the album one! Much love from Russia
THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OF ALL TIME, NO ARGUMENT NEEDED, JUST LISTEN 💀
The amazing thing is having been a fan long enough to hear the evolution of Josh's voice. Truly amazing.
Josh Middleton the 🐐
Man, this song sounds amazing played through the intended amp.
Josh said he’d like to re-amp EotE and Monolith. I really hope he does, it sounds amazing here.
The most underrated band of all times
Tighest band live I've heard in a while.
wasn't expecting the After Lifeless Years intro at the end lmao
Would love to see them play it live again!
hahaha me neither that was a cool surprise
But that's how they finish every set haha
sylosis were absolutely insane at Birmingham 02 institute!! they absolutely slayed every riff and beat
Sylosis needs to come to Dallas TX for real
This is a flawless performance. Well fucking done.
This was awesome to watch during the Trivium pre-show, look forward to seeing you soon. Also Cycle of Suffering is album of the year.
they should be opening for A7X.
@@tigerrr1227 A7X should be opening for sylosis
probably the best death metal band in the world
It's more of a trash metal band
That would be be’lakor imo bur Sylosis is definitely up there
Imma buy a hoodie even though it's 40ºC rn
Had a few beers with them all at Josh's first live vocal gig in Middlesbrough as some weird courtyard gig, I was the only person there in a Sylosis shirt. Great guys, was discussing Death Magnetic and Metallica with Josh, Bailey's a legend and Rob (Drummer at the time) was just concerned if I could hear his kick drum. First saw them at Sonisphere 2009 with Jamie on vocals. Seen them many more times since.
I would love to meet those guys, their music saved my life from dark times.
Saw you guys in Reading 2015 maybe, bought as much merch as I could afford because you are worth wearing and supporting. Unbelievable how so much talent is in the same band and remain modest and down to earth.
Empyreal is an outrageous work of art and skill !
Pure.... filth.... This is the best album of metal
Unfortunately, this recording was only a temporary offer and I missed it.
I would buy the complete show from your website in an instant, if it was available for purchase again.
Man what a great band these are, Josh can rip.
Maaaaaan these dudes are fuuucking killing it!!!
Sylosis is #1 in the world!!hands down!! 🤟🏼😎🤟🏼
Gotta give props to the A/V department they killed it as well.
Everything about this performance is fucking perfect man holy shit. I can feel that kick drum in my BONES. Also, Josh is easily one of the most talented guitar players I've ever heard in my entire life. I'm so glad Sylosis is back so he can really shine as a lead player \m/
TIGHT!
I've known this band most my life and I'm proud and grateful for there outstanding playability on studio tracks and live sessions
One of the best tightest sounding and face melting metal band ever existed !!
This band is just pure magic and the best on the planet NUFF SAID🤘🤘🤘✌
How dare you guys end on After lifeless years !! lol. Heard this a few good times and just noticed that. Cheeky bastards 😆
I can't thank Trivium enough for introducing me to this band! Mad talent from Josh and the band overall sounds tight as fuck! 🤘
Takes me back to high school jamming this out with my buddies
Dude for real! Me and my friends used to jam to this album outside in the cold with the music on full blast
Love you guys
Braziiiiiiil 💙
The real Metal Band.
They have won covid livestream. Absolutely fuckin brilliant. I dont know how there not even bigger than they are
How can i get an ULTRA LIKE to this song? PFF you guys are out of level, keep making this great music!
These guys sound so amazingly clear and tight live, one of the best bands in metal.
Fucking love Sylosis!! And yes I just bought some merchandise. Will also buy this show now. Cheers from India 🤘🏼
Vocals + Guitar is a level that’s so damn difficult.... kudos you rock 🤟
Absolutely the most under rated metal band. Found out about these guys back in 2009. Every album kicks heads in. Only seen em once though with in flames and LoG.
Iv seen this band about 5 times.
leeds, Sheffield, hull and 3 of those times i purposely went to see them as support and didn’t care about the main band. Been here since the beginning old singer etc but always preferred Josh.
They’re super underrated and i have no idea why as i just get lost in their music, Josh grabs me with his riffs and vocals and sucks me in to some epic journey of pure flying high. he shreds and sings at the time and it blow my mind. infact we have a photo together. Man i cant wait for lockdown to finish and go see them again, melodic metal!
What a phenomenal band, unbelievably tight
Six years since I started to learn the song and I am still soo far off nailing it even closely
I started learning the sweeps for Teras years ago. I feel you man 😂
@@joshmunn3444 I started to take guitar lessons again, focusing on my technique - I hope that it'll help haha
@@crestfallen821 maybe in 30 years lol
@@Chaosweaver-1 let's not hope that haha
🤘🤘
Josh is out of this world
Long time sylosis fan, pretty sure every album is a timestamp in eras of my life but this song has always been one of those milestone songs along with a serpents tongue for some reason. Probably the train journey I took when somebody told me to turn my earphones down and I was like holy fuck are you serious pal.
I'm coming back here just to say that i love this band so much
FAVE SONG OF ALL TIME
These many years.. not a single song with disappointment.
🤘🤘🤘,
N y there is no headbanging emojis... ☹
2:08 Josh sounds like Joe from Gojira a lot here. I wish someone could turn up the vocals, they're way too quiet 🤘
top tune
Love this band so much! Chin up guys! Hopefully touring will be allowed again soon! 🤘🤘
Absolutely criminal these arnt fucking huge! Been a fan since the start. Us in the no value how good a band they are! Arrgghhhh!!
I have just found this bad and fuck me they are EPIC!! Holy shit come on!!!
OMG the mix is incredible
Vocals could be a lil bit louder and its perfect
Ah yes, the song that introduced me to Sylosis. Still a banger.
How the hell did it Take Pete Cottrell mentioning them randomly in a video for me to hear about Sylosis? Why aren't more people talking about how killer this band is?
Actual talent gets overshadowed by mainstream pop metal. Amazing musicians and bands like Sylosis and Trivium arent as popular, but there is more talent in their trilling fingers than there is in most highly popular metal bands like Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon.
@Ram hmmmmm, i agree that Trivium is popular and successful, in their own way, but you completely missed the point I was making. Quick Facebook search says 1.9 M likes for Trivium. Yeah, pretty popular. I would be popular if 1.9 M people knew me. Mainstream Pop Metal band Bring Me The Horizon has 5.6 M likes. That's almost, technically, 3x as popular. Do you think Bring Me The Horizon is a more talented band than Trivium? Those 5.6 M fans can bring in one other fan and now they're at 11.2 M. Trivium would only bump up to 3.8 M. Of course, if you want to argue facebook numbers as not being credible because you use Instagram or no social media at all, that's something else.
@Ram my original comment never said anything about success.
Absolutely criminal!!
What about this? 05:14 ;) ;)
The lead guitarist is a fucking machine.
The vocalist? Hes also the guitarist in Architects :v (i think you know, that fact is crazy)
@@dehasim I didn't know that, that is a crazy fact. Thanks man!
@@the1ucidone np, thats why the riffs in Holy Hell are so diferent from the usual, and on the newer album i think he oversimplified the riffs
They are just too good. It's awesome.
Sensational!! Come to Brazil!! 🇧🇷❤️
This song is the best example of how a sweep can be totally awesome and add to the song. That and his sweeps are god like.
Big ups for the videos dudes. If you guys are ever allowed to come to the states and are anywhere near me, I'll come out and support!
So fucking Awesome 🔥😍👍🏻 Waiting for a Vinyl Bundle of all albums and a Europe Tour 😁👌🏻
Cê toca e cê canta? Cê é o bichão memo, hein! Sylosis é bom demais!!
That bridge riff slowed down is an awesome detail.
Can't believe how good those guys can play live, especially this song
Josh is a part time janitor.
Genuine question here for anyone willing to give me a real answer. I have been listening to Heavy Metal since I was 11 and I am now 30. My favorite bands would be Trivium, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage and Slipknot. I am not a musician in the least therefore have no technical understand of instruments. But I see so many comments on Sylosis videos (who I just discovered a few days ago) about tuning and down tuning maybe? As well as tons of comments about playing in E standard and I am just curious what the big deal is with that? Why does it matter? I just don't understand the significance I guess. But I hope someone here can help me understand it! Thanks in advance
This song sounds extremely heavy but is played in E standard. There aren't too many heavy bands that play in standard tuning as lots of bands tune down in the hopes of getting a lower and heavier sound. Sylosis achieve a heavy sound without tuning down, which shows the amazing technical and writing abilities they possess.
That ending! Beautiful.
Heaviest song of all time.
it insane guys , your performance is super tight, sounds like if im playing the original song holy shit
Hope this gives you the support you deserve!
Fuck yeah boys!!! So sick to see y'all!!
Grandiosos !!! Cheers from Colombia 🇨🇴🤘🤘🔥
This brings me great pleasure.
This song got me into the band
Damn who knew E standard could sound so fucking heavy live👌👌👌👌
Unos capos
Such a great band.
i say you come to japan eternity!!
Pure sick !!
That bass player is going fucking hard
Love at first sound!
i love this band
After lifeless years
A better live recording I have not heard.
This is farken incredible!
So heavy in standard e tuning!!!!!
When I was looking for heavy bands that play in Standard E..that was how I discovered Sylosis.
Didn't dedicate myself to practice to be able to play the songs though lol xD
Somebody knows what means Sylosis ?
Only the band knows. They took an existing word and changed it a little.
I need to buy some new merch now.
the last is super sick
haha i remember your after lifeless years cover. i liked that ending too
Even better than on the fuckin record ...unbelievable!
