I love that Elijah is in these videos. I have no doubt that he will be a fantastic tech guy in the future, because when he makes mistakes you show him how to fix them rather than being an angry boss - really, really wholesome. And he's a great guy and deserves the time and training.
Even IF Linus was the kind to be an angry boss and yell at his employees. You think he'd do it on camera and/or keep it in the edit and upload it?

The mirror may have been mounted too high for its purpose, but used to create the illusion of a larger room, taking the same line as the wardrobe doors and the window was a really smart decision (or a fortunate coincidence).
Underrated comment.
Plus the benefits of having to stand up straight to see yourself, physically and mentally wise, especially in the morning or when feeling down and you want to slouch the most. The angle they were showing in the video made the mirror compliment the whole room and brought the overall aesthetic of everything around it up.
Or Elijah asked Horst when it was about the right height. Horst is 6'4", Linus is 5'6" and Jake is 5'9". I don't know about Elijah as he hasn't modelled anything for LTTstore yet
The amount of times you just hear the chimes jingle and the camera pans to Elijah trying to shut them up killed me

Fun story time: Back when I was in college, I was in my English class, and the professor was asking all of us students to start throwing out synonyms for "angry." I felt like I was a fairly well-read and well-spoken person, so in my elation I excitedly tried to call out "incensed."
Incensed was not the word I stuttered out, and this moment gave me PTSD like I haven't felt in ages.

awesome content. I love getting to know all of the creww at LTT over the years and I have been tuning in since sometime around 20... I forgot but I love it and love the tech upgrades. I'm in the middle of trying to get my pc upgraded here as I have been limping my 5960k along since 2014 and I was working a ton during the pandemic, but like everyone the shortages made it near impossible to build new systems. I love the LTT crew!
This is great. 40 seconds in I am already cracking up 😂. Linus and I made the exact same face about the "new WiFi 3" at the same time and then the edited date on top. Perfect lol
Elijah makes those upgrade videos soooo much more entertaining. It's like a constant suspense. Will it live? What will get broken? Will he fall from the stairs? There are no stairs? Will they build stairs for Elijah to fall from? Love it.
Now imagine working with him on daily basis. Having a guy you know you cannot rely on and can brake your stuff

I actually love the Ubiquiti MESH feature. Don't use it often, but when you need to cover a dead space, no need for wires and you can throw something off of it, like printer or a phone. Neat thing

Just so you know - this specific model of QNAP NASes (TS-451 or any other similar models with J1800/J1900 processor) are randomly dying due to LPC clock bug that will make it not boot. I suggest to replace it at the earliest opportunity or make sure the data is backed up. I had one that died this way. You can revive it by soldering a resistor, but it's considered a temporary solution.
As far as I know there are equivalent models from Synology that have the exact same problem.
wouldn't the disks work just fine even if the NAS dies?
@@Manivelarino AFAIK its how the NAS is writing the data and also the map of data and chunks. So if ur system dies but not the disks the map of the array may be loss rendering the data on the disks as a bunch of gibberish for other systems to read off
@@Manivelarino in my case disks were fine, but I'm not sure if you would be able to connect them to another (non QNAP) NAS or PC if you had RAID on them to extract data.
When that failure happened, disk LEDs were red suggesting that they died, but it was not the case. Also it rebooted itself without my prompt, so that might be another failsafe.
So data likely won't be corrupted, just not easily accessible and therefore my suggestion about backups.

Whoever writes Elijah's scripts for these upgrades does a great job. They definitely get his character to seem like someone who should have been given a coloring book and asked to wait in the corner while the adults work.
But for real though Elijah makes these vidoes so much better.
a lot of the main points are scripted, but the chit chat in between talking about specs are all improv I believe, except when they repeat it for a better take. Pretty sure Elijah is not acting for the most part XD

I'm about a year behind on LTT videos. And just for fun I'd figured take a look at this one to shake it up, and it's the first time meeting Elija and I'm like "who is this new guy, and why am I down with him already" I've never gone from "Who" to "Cool" so quickly. I think Young was the last time I was so instantly on board with a new member of the team.
